I’ve been at GenFed for a while now, and my experience has been very positive. The mission of serving members isn’t just a slogan here—it shows up in daily decisions, even when those decisions aren’t the easiest or most profitable. I’ve seen the organization make choices that put people first, and that’s something I value.

Like any workplace, there are different personalities and occasional challenges, but overall the environment is respectful and supportive. Leadership has been willing to adapt, both in technology and culture, to keep us competitive while still maintaining a focus on members.

I feel like my strengths are recognized and used, which makes the work both challenging and rewarding. If you bring a good attitude and are willing to grow, you’ll likely find opportunities here. I’ve enjoyed being part of this team and plan to stay.

A very busy, private credit union that gets to know its members by name. I learned a lot about the finance industry and speed and accuracy. The management and co-workers were all a close nit group of girls that really went out of their way to help one another. The hardest part of the job was doing the job with the speed that a busy bank requires, but also connecting with each member individually and performing each transaction with the accuracy that dealing with finance requires. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know our members and how quickly the work went.

Genfed has great benefits if you choose to stay longterm, most employees do not. Management has their "teacher pets" the rest are left to fend for themselves. Pay structure is very low for all the responsibilities you will be asked to do and yearly reviews are not a fair representation of your work, therefore your increases will not reflect how hard you work. 

I have learned more at Genfed than any other job. It can be stressful at times, but the experience you will gain is priceless. If i am particularly interested in something, they make an effort to let me learn more in that specific area. Great coworkers. It feels like management really recognizes where I am strongest and when I am struggling. 

GenFed is a great place to make a start if you are looking to have a career in the financial world. They are willing to train and help you advance up the ranks even if that advancement is not at GenFed. In my experience even though upper management is ready to help you advance, some branch level employees are not. This can sometimes makes for a toxic environment. 

I like working for genfed great company great perks the people were very nice they're flexible with your schedule and if you want to be full-time they'll make you full-time if you want to be part-time you can stay part time and no one makes you feel stupid if you make a mistake very good company

The people i worked with were pretty cool, but the job itself and the corporate personnel weren't the best.  They tried to give me way too many responsibilities for what they were paying me at the time ($10.50/hr) which i wasn't too happy about and ultimately why i left. It just felt like they were too cheap all around and i was underappreciated as a good employee.

I thoroughly enjoyed working at GenFed. The co-workers and management team were all very nice and helpful. It almost felt like a little family. The only downfall is that all of the employees should be paid a little more.

It is a very slow, dry, quiet position. Especially with it being a very closed banking institution far from most well known places. The position was very easy and the management was trusting and fun.

I really liked the company and the management style. The person who was training was lacking help and got very annoyed easily, it made me anxious. That is really the only reason for some low scores
