• Check-In and Check Out of all patients for multiple physicians.
• Answer multi-line phones system and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments or medical consultations, both on the phone and at check out.
• Greet patients and determine purpose of visit.

• Receive and route messages or documents to appropriate staff.
• Perform various clerical or administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
• Receive payments in forms of checks, cash, credit or debit; verify amounts and check for accuracy.
• Enter customers’ transactions into computers to record and issue computer-generated receipts.
• Count currency, checks, and electronic transactions for daily batching and depositing to local branch banks.

For a medical establishment that is so decorated with awards, the workplace culture does not match up. Appropriate patient care is less important than the bottom line ($$$) and workers are not valued. Patients are always upset and can be verbally abusive at times. No matter what your past work experience is, you will not be compensated for it. Most of the people who have been here for multiple years will say they've just gotten used to the nonsense and expect nothing more from the company. Worker appreciation is non existent. Doctors are inconsiderate and just plain mean to patients and staff. You will question your work ethics everyday. I had high hopes and I quickly learned that the best way to get through the day is with my head down and my mouth shut; or at least that was the advice given to me by other staff members. This company is known for having a fast revolving door when it comes to workers fired or quitting.

I know that our jobs are difficult, each different one from MA's in clinic to PC's at the front. The patient support center struggles, we all do. If you have been here any amount of time, then you already know. I do this for the patients. That is my main goal here. I am grateful when I get help from the team around me. I have a strong team and my management supports me. The patients come first. The doctors should be kept sane. If you don't think that is something you can or want to do, then this is not the place for you. We move in high speed, but we do it as a team over here where I am. If you are in a part of the company where some of the things I have read above are going on, there is always someone higher you should speak to. I have been here 10 years this June and I don't see myself going anywhere anytime soon!

If you with a busy doctor then expect to be definitely overwhelmed and rushed. You’re handling everything! Literally from documents to putting each patient in the room and doing vitals to listening to what the doctor needs and on top of that doing other nurse visit  work in the middle of clinic; changing catheters, PVR scan, phlebotomy all day, injections etc. All of this is on you. Then to end your day you have to chart prep for tomorrow. Don’t forget to clean your rooms and restock. Most of the doctors sees atleast over 22 patients some 40 in the morning and also in the evening! Think about that. I can say management doesn’t micro manage but they will whenever they feel like something isn’t getting done. The company can succeed more if management does a better job at not putting so much on their employees. Overall good company and the pay is not so good either. But hey you’ll at least have a job. 

Very busy practice with expectations likely improbable/impossible to meet. Ongoing pressure to see more, do more and bring in more revenue. Constant and ongoing turnover of staff, in this particular office, thus making excelling to fulfill expectations even more difficult. 

The patient were excellent and I continue to love what I do in terms of patient care. Sadly, even after quadrupling my patient load with many other added responsibilities, I was never given a raise and was encouraged not to take vacation until I was making more money for the
practice. I had 1 vacation in 2.5 yrs and that was because it was already schedule when I started.

If work is all you really like to do is work and you have no outside life or responsibilities then this may work for you. I did try for a long time it consistently got worse and never better. My voice was never heard.

My last day will be 12/31/19 and I truly wished it would have worked out...

I can honestly say since I work at GU I’ve met some great people and great doctors .. the company as a whole not so great. I left my previous job a couple of years ago thinking I was starting fresh going into something professional and a place with a drive.. let just say I didn’t do my research at all. This job is a revolving door, you are not properly trained. If you’re thinking about good merit worth anything forget it. It won’t be worth it. It’s all about who you know. They only care about the job getting done.. I do feel they don’t value good employees who consistently come to work and do their jobs those are the ones they take advantage of again not bashing some of the people and doctors because I enjoyed some of them.. it’s the company as a whole,  I honestly would have stayed there but you have to know your worth. This job is only a stepping stone to get your feet in the door def not a career..

The pay isn’t terrible in comparison to similar positions in the area, though it should be higher especially with the responsibilities you have and the amount of work you do alone. Seeing 35+ patients per day with 1 MA per doctor, including drawing own labs and charting. Fine, done that. But the management is so unorganized it’s ridiculous. They want you to go here and there working for doctors you’ve never been with and have no idea how each one likes thing and they expect you to know. You get a schedule for the next week on Friday around 4:30-5 and you could be at totally different location just because they are short staffed no matter how far away it is and oh well if your kids have to get to school. It’s terrible unorganized 

I actually enjoyed working for this company and the doctors were nice & helpful in this field that was new for me. I was willing to learn & grow from this company but that went down the drain within 2 or 3 months. I worked at the ASC office and management there is horrible with alot of drama with older women, they pick and chose on their favorites. Also, HR doesn't really care about you or your complains about work, they will either ask you if you want to quit or move to a different location that is inconvenient for you. They should fire Directors/Managers/Supervisors that really don't care about their hard working staff, this is another reason why your hard working staff quits. Is alot more to this but to each its own. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Having a manager who trust my decisions as a supervisor. Not being micro managed. FREEDOM. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not really stressful but other areas of the organization who don't do things in order, sometimes make my team's daily responsibilities more difficult. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
From my experience it's been great. I get to interact with a lot if different areas of the business. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Make sure that all of my team has clocked in. Read any emails that may have come later the previous day or overnight to see if anything requires immediate attention.

They make you work your tail off with no compensation. Also they don't appreciate you for the work you do. Never a raise unless it's 15 cents per year. Promised things and they don't follow through. HR is horrible and they don't listen to you or give you a chance. They're willing to let good people go and keep people who don't do half the amount of work. Very unfair to employees who have bent over backwards for the company and no opportunity of much advancement. Overall a poor company to waste years with. Very misleading.
