My typical day at work was opening up the office , turning on all the lights, fax machines, copier, print out reports. My jobs duties were the following: Data Entry Oasis:

• Data Entry Clerks verify information, operate data entry devices/ prepare documents

• Clerk process account information, customers information & a variety of other forms of documents by resolving inconsistencies and reviewing data for errors using standard data entry procedures

• Requesting further information for documents that are deemed incomplete

• Verifying, correcting, deleting unnecessary data or combing data from several sources before entering into a file

• Entering information into specific files or forms recorded material, hand written pages or figures contained in printed files

• Deciphering sloppy handwriting, garbled recording or faded and transforming into digital data

• Keeping records of tasks, files and proofread reports

• Checking completed work for errors or duplicate before submitting the final product

Medical Coding:

• Interpreting the different medical charts/records of the patients and assigning the different diagnostic / procedural codes

• Inputting the derived codes into the computer system with great efficiency and flawlessly

• Making data highly accessible to the patients, insurance companies and all other billing purposes by charting in an organized fashion

• Checking medical charts for accuracy and ensuring that it consists of every single piece of information which is imperative to make that chart complete

• Verifying medical data, signatures, computers and everything that is related to the process of medical coding

• Analyzing medical data using computer software in order to make chart consisting of all information that is required to form a useful database for future use

Receptionist

• Greeting the clients

• Handling of administrative duties ( e.g., answering phones, general office duties such as filing, light typing, and making copies

• Accepting and signing off packages received for the office

• Stamping paperwork that comes in the office from the nurses

• Distributing the mails that come into the office

• Currently received administrative commendations for excellent performance of receptionist's duties

This job was easy,but for me boring and also didnt give a sense of security,but like most people when you need a job you take the first one to call. I was a caregiver for 2 clients who were great clients. My duties consisted of going to their home and sitting with them on a weekly basis and alson going to run their errands and picking up meds as need. Well that was to easy for me i like to be busy,Being busy makes the time go faster, keeps your mind from always wondering, what time is it? Is it time to go yet? so i took it upon myself to do a little more than i was suppose to. I began to water their flowers help them in their gardens, clean windows, iron etc. I loved this job. Then out of short notice my evening client needed a caregiver that could work the evening shift, such as be at her home at night, and i couldnt, due to the fact i had a child and i wasnt able to make that type of adjustment to my scheduling. So i end up losing that patient and that basically cut my pay check in half. At the time i was living in Dallas. Texas where the only family i have is my brother. And he has to work and a household to attend to himself. I didnt want any help, i was prideful and wanted to do things on my own, try to maintain my independence, and with my income decreasing that was not an option. Plus bills were due, so timing to find another job was not an option also. My supervisor said she would get me another client and i was glad of that, but i had bills to pay, plus rent and i needed gas, things were not good. So to my comfort and being considerate that i was going to do this on my own, i called my supervisor and told her i was going back to Arkansas. I packed all the belonging i could get in my little chevrolet cobalt and back to Arknasas i came. I figured that this was just a minor set back for a major comeback. In life things do get tuff and this is one time in my life that i was reminded that.

This position is great for those self-motivated individuals who want to put in just a few hours a day and who do not require immediate supervision. 

Payroll is based on timesheets which are mailed to the company at the end of each pay period.  My experience was not the best where payroll is concerned given that on several occasions, my timesheets were said to have not been received, thus creating a delay in receiving my pay.

In this position, I didn't have to "report" to a supervisor, though I did technically have one.  However since this position did not require any supervision at all, I didn't have contact with management unless there was an administrative-type issue to resolve such as payroll corrections.  

During my time with Girling, I only had two supervisors.  One of them was very courteous and professional at all times while the other was completely the opposite. From the initial contact with this member of management, she seemed to have a very negative attitude and even spoke in a manner that came across as though she was talking down to me. In summation, it could best be said that she was not very courteous and in my opinion did not at all present herself professionally - to a degree that eventually the upper management team was contacted... they were very helpful and professional at all times.

Girling Health Care has been a solid company for 44+ years. Since Harden Health Care purchased the company approximately 3 years ago, many changes occurred, including my recent lay-off. Girling Health Care valued their employees, their patients and the integrity of the company. I enjoyed working there. A day for me wasn't typical. I wore many hats and was often pulled in many directions. I loved the challenge though. I've learned many things during my tenure there. I've learned about team work, delegating duties, being productive and using whatever tools you have to make the company thrive. I've worked with many managers who often changed. Getting to know different management styles wasn't always easy but I learn to adjust quickly. I love team work. I love to promote enthusiasm, dedication and hard work. I tried to motivate my co-workers to do the same. I believe the hardest part of my job was watching good people leave due to a lay-off, termination or resignation. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to assist in every area. I love to keep abreast of every role in the office. I believe in cross-training.

I appreciate that I was hired and have worked for this company, because now I have 2 years of home healthcare that I may not have otherwise had. Many home healthcare agencies do not hire without a minimum experience of 2 years.
My schedule is extremely flexible, as I am able to split the hours according to my, and of course, my patient's needs.

However, the agency is incredibly unconcerned with the actual needs of each patient. 
They have tremendous difficulty finding caregivers for every client, often leaving the patient without care. 
On several occasions, I was the only caregiver available to my client and therefore working 7 days a week, for several weeks at a time.
The agency fails to recognize the needs of their employees, regarding everything from supplies, assistance with clients, benefits and pay. 
The care that I (and the other employees) provide is very personal, as the client requires hygiene and toileting assistance. These things are often descriptive of what many people would not be comfortable and/or "cut out" for doing....And yet, the employees at McDonalds are receiving a higher income that does include benefits.

My pay and benefits at Girling Health Care Inc are laughable. The pay is insultingly low and there is absolutely no raise structure. Advancement within the office is dependent on who you’re friends with. On-call pay averages out to pennies per hour.

In terms of job security at Girling Health Care Inc, I think it’s relatively secure. Management rarely does anything to actively hold anyone accountable so most turnover is the result of people quitting due to the lousy pay or personal grievances.

In general, managers at Girling Health Care Inc have no idea what they’re doing let alone how to do what their subordinates are responsible for. Our managers have no idea how to effectively manage people.

My experience working at Girling Health Care Inc makes me want to leave the healthcare industry altogether.

A typical work day entails coordinating care for patients with various disciplines such as families, MD offices, therapies, nursing staff, and insurance companies. It also entails making sure that the patient's plan of care, MD orders, and scheduling of services is completed within a timely manner. What I learned from this job is how to fine tune my nursing management skills and have a better understanding of another person's perception of the medical field. I have experienced a great sense of teamwork with my fellow nursing and administrative support staff, but have not had the support of managment. The hardest part of this job is being conflicted with my core values of believing in teamwork and providing the best possible patient care, but always having that support from upper management. The most enjoyable part of my job is working with the great support staff and knowing that my work positively impacts the lives of the patients I provide care for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff had a system that it was for the field supervisors and it worked. Each field supervisors had a coordinator who would take the potential attendants information and get it ready for the field supervisors  would take care of the references so we had the time to focus on our clients, they would recruit and all we had to do is hire them, they would take care of the 2067 for us and incident reports because they received the call and for us to focus on clients  they would find out who clocked in and out and would fix it which worked for all of us.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing. Because we new we had deadlines and we would get it done. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly  helpful and knowledgeable. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go do my visits,take care of SOC, Attendants evaluation. Go home and review it and mail it on Friday.

A typical day at work for Girling is assisting the Client with all at home needs, it's like doing things for the Client that I do for myself, it's easy.
I believe I've learned a lot working with the Clients as far as growing old, and being able to adjust in age related facts.
Management at Girling is Lovely, all the Women there are very helpful, not only for the Clients, but also for their employees, They really care for all, and They put a lot of work in what they do as Management Personnel.
Workplace culture is fantastic with Girling.
There's no hard part of the job if you love what you're doing, I wouldn't only say Girling could pay a little bit more, otherwise it's perfect.
What I enjoyed the most when I worked for Girling, was, meeting new People, assisting those that can't assist themselves, who has Family Members who must work and take care of children/grandchildren and don't have the time. I truly enjoy lending a Helping Hand.


Not the best ideal place for a career as there is no place to advance to within the department. A lot of information to retain and you are expected to be an expert everyday although the pay for coordinators does not reflect the expectations. There is always a report that needs to be done, a client who needs a provider, a deadline to meet every single day so that makes it stressful. However, if you are the kind of person who works well under pressure, likes to push yourself and can work with minimal to no micro management, this is the place to be. You are basically the boss of your caseload and you are responsible for each client, every day. The amount of time you are paid (8 hours a day) to do all of the tasks you are assigned is virtually impossible to do well and correctly, but a lot of people get it done. The pressure does make the job fun and exciting.
