I worked at GoodLeap as a Digital Collection Specialist, and unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. When I was hired, my team was essentially used as a testing ground for a new department. The training was poorly structured and disorganized, which left most of us confused and unsupported from the start.

The expectations shifted constantly. What started as a digital-focused role quickly expanded to include both customer service and collections, without any real increase in support or compensation. The workload became overwhelming, and the lack of consistency made it nearly impossible to succeed without burning out.

Despite giving a full month’s notice of my resignation, when my situation changed and I reduced it to a three-week notice, management reacted harshly. I was pulled into a Zoom meeting with HR and immediately terminated, cutting off my income with no real justification. It felt punitive and unnecessary.

Bonus structures are another major issue. They’re based on unrealistic metrics — including minimum dollar amounts collected and high quotas for emails and texts. These bonuses are disproportionately awarded to people with seniority, while others often get a minimal amount (if anything at all).

If you’re looking for a stable, fair job with transparent management and clear expectations, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. GoodLeap overpromises and underdelivers, and in my experience, the way they treat employees is unprofessional and unfair.

at Goodleap the day seems to fly by which is good and bad you always have work to do which makes the day fly by but sometimes there seems to not be enough hours in the day, time management is huge here and the culture here makes your time at work feel like home. just don't get carried away otherwise you can very easily fall behind in your work. the hardest part of working here is learning all the ins and outs of the systems and programs but once you have everything down it is easy to excel as long as your have the work ethic. the most enjoyable part of the job is that you know youre truly making a difference, when i walk into work in the morning i really do get to feel like im wearing a super hero cape, whether its knowing that the company i work for is making a huge different for renewable energy and saving or whether its the customer you just made a huge difference for by helping them look in to getting in a better financial position. you never know how much you can help someone but you can always be there to try. and even when you fail you just keep pushing, thats the beauty of this job theres always customers to reach out to and help.

Do you like having the political flavor of the day crammed down your throat? Do you like to wonder if you're going to have a job the next day? Do you like constant restructuring with zero transparency? Do you like being written up today for what you did four months ago when it wasn't a violation of the policy at the time? Do you like to be gaslighted for all failings of the company?

If you answered yes to any of the above, congratulations! This is the place for you! 

There is zero transparency with the policies and they are changing all the time. What you did today will get you in trouble tomorrow, even if what you did today was within policy, because tomorrow it will change without notice. 

Management doesn't care about you. They are out for themselves and roll the waste downhill. They all came from the same company, except one of them, so they all have each other's backs. Let's not forget to mention the managers have their favorites, so if they can bury their cheating, they will, so you will NEVER get a better bonus unless you suck up hard and they like you.

They do not promote from within, so good luck ever getting a better position. Also, they do not provide raises.

This is not a customer service representative position. They basically have you bait current client in getting into another loan. Rates are high so you get yelled at a lot. The only people you are serving are the Loan Officers that potentially get thousands of dollars off of your efforts while you get written up weekly . They do not care about the environment. They are Loan Pal rebranded and are using the environment as a hook. They have you watch a tear jerking youtube clip to get you pumped as if you will be chosen to go on a trip LOL. I was fooled and was treated terribly and disregarded. They have a high turn over and have a few agents they stick with that do earn more than just hourly. While the Mortgage rates are too high right now I advised to run far far away. OH they also work with Solar Companies that scam Elderly people and we have to console them. They are stuck with $50,000 - $80000 loans that we have to make sure they pay. They end up crying because they are on fixed incomes. Unethical and GoodLeap can care less as long as we tell them they are locked in. I can go on and on. Not worth it.

A typical work day involves clocking in and getting on the phones immediately. You receive transfers from customer service where you then try to get them to do a cash out refi and include their energy loan in with their mortgage. The software at the company is excellent. They have a well oiled system when it comes to that. Workplace is huge on production and they have a tiered lead system. Company wide meetings will focus on the production of a few top LOs who are given the best leads and have their own assistants. You are expected to compete with them even though your lead tier my not be as favorable. They really take care of their top producers, and rightfully so, but at the expense of everyone else. Turnover is extremely high. You are expected to work 12-14 hours a day and the overtime is drawn from your commission. Was hired on as a hybrid employee yet shortly after, in office 5 days a week was mandated. 

There is no room for HUMAN error in this company. 
Management is impatient and borderline cruel. You are expected to immediately understand their entire system and new protocol is implemented on a moment's notice. If you miss a step in following new protocol, you are at risk for a write up.
HR is unwilling to listen to employees inform them of managerial concerns.  Bonus opportunities not truly offered to all CCAs, yet the metric system listed as missed opportunity. 
I fully understood attendance policy. I fully understood clear communication of mandatory OT, one Saturday a month. I fully appreciated the opportunity for OT offered outside of mandatory hours. What I did not understand is why bother continuously hiring and training new employees only to terminate them? That seems like a huge waste of company money. Why not just offer MORE THOROUGH for current employees? 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The building is nice offering plenty of rooms breaks and they even offer free snacks and drinks on a daily. Everyone is kind, courteous and respectful. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The training is chaotic and  doesn't prepare you for the heep of work they pile on you later.  Trying to stay  focus on a  task while being bombarded with impromptu meetings and interruptions from coworkers and  management. The expectations to do several things at once simultaneously like a robot.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The position sits you in a basement area with several vents blowing cold air all day even when its cold outside. It's a supportive culture, but its a lot of back and forth asking questions to get help. Every CSM is asking questions for help on a daily basis because there is no one clear way to do something.

When I first started at GoodLeap (when it was called Paramount Equity Mortgage), it was very clear that they cared about their employees. There were team-building events, there was a Culture Club, and they were all about promoting from within.

In recent years though, that has not been the case. There's no team-building, no culture, and I started to see good people who have given the majority of their careers to the company thrown to the curb for minor issues while the Directors are protected for MAJOR issues. It became clear to me that they no longer cared about their people and cared much more about their individual status. There are still great people there, and the company does do great things. 

Leadership appears to be careless in its decisions regarding their employees, especially when it comes to policy. Several leaders often micromanage, and there seems to be a general lack of trust from upper leadership to the lower level employees. Workplace culture is inconsistent. The roles itself within the company are fulfilling, though often overloaded and with job role expectations that are unclear. Regular lack of communication or unclear/miscommunications from leadership. 

As a business, they appear to make lean business decisions. There are some great minds within the company, from a business perspective. However, as an employee, the company seems to have no regard for the employees that assisted the executive team reach the overall success of this Fortune 500 company.
