I worked at Grace for 6 months. The last 3 my husband worked with me. We agreed to work 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week with a former admin. When the new one came on we discussed that our schedules would remain the same and that I would eventually move from the graveyard shift to the swing. This was acceptable to my husband and I as we are trying to find a house and need to be able to have time together to do so. The graveyard shift is pretty slow but everyone on that shift has been trained by me to the best of my ability and thus all chores get done typically by midnight, leaving lots of down time. When you work 10 hour shifts and constantly cover, sometimes you need a nap. Management also likes to put brand new med techs onto the carts and only have them shadowed for a half shift. They also choose pisspoor med techs to train who like to disappear for 45 min and not use their walkies. They also don't mind letting their regional directors come in and yell at brand new care staff who have no control over the actions of previous shifts. My husband and I worked all the time and my last work week was in fact a full week. They constantly call people in to cover even if the person has done nothing but cover for others to the point of some staff are working almost 100 hours in 2 weeks. The residents can tell which of us truly care and those who are only there for a paycheck. The ones who truly want to be there get worked into the ground and the rest just stand around and play on their phones. 

Red Flag #1: Only one full-time staff member still at facility since facility opened 3 years ago. Only 3 years, and they have turned over dozens and dozens of positions. I was hired as a nurse after they had "let go" almost half a dozen nurses (another red flag) for this matter or that. I was hired  and had 2 days of training for one position (another red flag). Then I found out I had many positions to fill but no training on any of them (yep, red flag). After several months the hammer came down and they let me know I had been doing my job wrong (you got it, red flag)! That is when I got my nursing instructions (wow, thanks and it only took 3 months). I was then pushed into writing up my staff constantly. This does not make for a cohesive work environment. I rely on my staff for everything. Now I have to write them up non-stop. Though the write-ups kept happening, no changes came about except the staff eating each other alive (yep, red-flag). I on the other hand got written up once and then "let go" (the worst red flag). There is no holiday pay, there is no retirement. You barely get health and dental, vision is worthless (bloody red flag). They pay a fortune for a vase or a picture, but I had to buy my own supplies, nail clippers, wound care, you name it. If you do work there, expect to be micromanaged hard, but only after you screw up. Oh, and be good at training yourself!

    I began my journey with Grace Senior Communities in April 2025 as a Weekend Activity Coordinator in Memory Care. In just eight months, I was honored to be promoted into a Regional Activity Coordinator role—a transition that speaks volumes about the organization’s commitment to recognizing talent and promoting from within.

Horrible Management. All are family so if you have an issue with 1 then they all have an issue with you! Was told I didn't meet their standards to be an activities director when I planned and met requirments for over a year. Planning Thanksgiving celebrations, christmas and 100th year parties for our Residents complelty ALONE and then the administration taking credit. They sit and gock about everybody at the bistro for lunch like some stupid high-school clique.  If you have something personal going on at home and you confide in the administrator, know full well it WILL be talked about to the others and then the whole staff will be asking you personal questions.  I have residents to this day (almost a year later) reaching out and telling me how much they miss me and they haven't gotten a single person to stick around longer than a few weeks..  Goes to show I wasn't the issue. Even when reaching out to higher management I was completely ignored. 

management here is absolutely terrible, there is an extremely high turnover rate. to unpack, one of the main reasons is due to the disrespect towards both residents and staff by upper management. for example, after water or liquids were spilt on a resident, they would not help the resident unless the resident made a fuss or was demanding to go back and change. they allowed the resident to soak in this liquid while they ate their food. as for staff, and when asking management for raises (4 separate times) i was denied, and told "we don't have to give you anything" all of the employees around me- including those I'd trained, and been hired longer than, were making more than me and being promoted. they then began knit picking my clothing, where i sat my things, and more, leading me to quit. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I love my residents and my coworkers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Time. It's hard to get everything done and give the residents the time they need.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I believe it is Christian based. My experience has been good.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get there and get my coffee then hot chocolate for my people then start getting them up, to the bathroom, dressed, hair done and all the morning stuff. Then to the breakfast table. Help serve then Help feed the people that need help . Then clean off breakfast. Then bathroom, then whatever the activities are. . Then drinks and snacks. Lunch, repeat. Sometimes showers, sometimes doing nails. Keeping watch over everyone so no one falls and making sure their needs are met ❤️

Many Individuals at Grace are great to work with but Management is extremely hit and miss.

Everyone who is above you will give you orders as they see fit, everyone's request is the most important. Makes it a struggle to get daily tasks accomplished.

Plenty of willingness to throw people under the bus, lots of gossip, nepotism and favoritism.

Work life balance is non-existent. This company will squeeze everything out of you and then discard you when you can't keep up.

Many departments are ran on a skeleton crew, not enough help to go around despite the work load and what is constantly requested of you.

Poor adherence to policy and SOP. Ownership will ignore problems that cost too much while spending money on useless upgrade or interior/exterior decor.

Many reviews from May 2024 were bought as company offered cash for 5 star reviews to employees.

Stay away.

Poor benefits. No sick time (PTO). 40 hours of vacation a year, years 1 through 4. Nurse's do not get paid for holidays. IF you are lucky, Linda will let you work the holiday so you don't lose hours. Admins and Regional get all the perks and bonuses. Nurse's are treated like second class citizens. No longevity with facility nurses, very little with Med Techs and caregivers. Regional or the owner do not care about your mental health. You work like a dog and they chew you up and spit you out. I LOVED my job and I was good at it, but NO ONE has your back. I have never been so disappointed and disheartened at a job. In the end, I just checked out, and that is so NOT my work ethic.

Staffing is horribly short, they expect 2 people to complete all ADLs plus meals plus cleaning and helping feed those who are unable to feed themselves. Toileting is done when possible, residents are not being properly cared for due to management's unwillingness to come in and help during shortages. Very lazy coworkers, lots of new people are being hired but hardly do any work and leave it to someone else to finish. Lots of gossip, favoritism in management. They lie to staff about finding help and never respond after the help doesn't show up. Management will not answer your calls or texts when you need them. You are left alone to figure it out. Calling in sick is hard to do especially when you are short on staff. Vacations are hardly approved. Do not work here unless you don't mind a very toxic work place. 

management tears you down. they tell you to ask for help and when you do they tell you no. they expect too much from you. there’s 2 caregivers and 69 residents and most are high level care. we’ve asked for an extra caregiver or a shower aid and they tell us no. if you didn’t get somethjng done you get in trouble and if you stay late to get something done you get introuble because they don’t want you having overtime. they have a morning meeting every morning but they just talk badly on all the staff. since i’ve been working there we’ve gone through 5 nurses because they can’t handle how we get treated. families are constantly complaining about how residents aren’t getting the care they need but they won’t give us another caregiver so they can get the care they need. do not move your loved ones into the place.
