A typical workday starts with responding to emails and reviewing meeting schedules. I make sure my meeting documents are prepared two business days before. 

Most meetings occur after the quarter ends. Heavy meetings Jan, Apr, July, and Oct; the other eight months usually have 5-6 weekly meetings. In between meetings, I perform general bookkeeping work.

I genuinely enjoy the workplace culture because I spend time with my co-workers and managers outside of working hours. Also, I am a valued person at the office with a life outside of work, and the entire team checks in on each other to ask about family and friends' interests, hobbies, and health. 

The hardest part of the job is getting through tax season. We have a great supporting staff. Not once have I experienced rudeness, and I was expected to look the other way because it's tax season.

The most enjoyable part of the job is we celebrate life events together. Our birthdays and anniversaries are acknowledged not only by your team but also by the management staff too. 

I have been with GreenOak Accounting for several years. The owner is wonderful to work for and very understanding.  She values her employees and wants everyone to love what they do.  
GreenOak has been able to establish a niche in the therapy accounting world in a few short years, which allows us to better serve our clients and focus on the things that can help them improve their businesses.  We handle several clients on a monthly basis so we all need to be able to switch from one client to another seamlessly while accomplishing our goal of having close connections to our clients.  I would say this could be the hardest part of our job because some may not prefer to juggle the work.

Depending on whose team you land on you can have a great manager or a really bad one.  There has been a lot of staff turnover recently most of it not voluntary.  Many times staff was let go with in a matter of weeks or months.  There have also been bee what we have been told was lay offs for financial reasons.  They let go of some of our best staff and are obviously bringing in less experienced, lower paid people.  I do not feel like my job is safe.  They also say that they only want 40 hours a week but some times I work between 45 and 50 to get my work down.

When I started they gave minimal direction.i have well over 15 years experience and they let me go after a couple months. Management needs more management training. They provided pieces of training material and when I explained to them I did not have all the material to train. Which I didn't need training in the work, just their different process , they decided to let me go. 

GreenOak is a great place to work. It's collaborative, not competitive. The success of the firm depends on the success of each accountant, so there's a strong focus on training and coaching.  Even 100% remote staff can expect to see their team at least 3 times per week, plus opportunity to get support from managers and peers at will. Strongly prefers to promote from within.

What stands out about working with Greenoak is the team spirit. When you need help with a task, maybe learning how to perform it or needing an extra help to do it if you are very busy with other stuff, there is always someone ready to help you. I love the team friendly environment, in Greenoak you are never alone. We work hand in hand. Greenoak is Family.

GreenOak has a great team overall, and you are broken up into smaller teams based off who you work with closely day in & day out! The flexibility offered with positions here is such a plus! Management has open communication with all members of the team. It is clear what is expected of you and how to achieve those things.

I enjoyed my time at GreenOak Accounting very much. It took a while to get all the processes down but everyone was very helpful in teaching and assisting me. Full time remote work also provided great flexibility. Management actively listens and values employee feedback as well.
