You will start off here in a one week orientation. Yes, one week! It's very close to a college classroom type atmosphere. I didnt really care for it, but some may like introductions and free lunches.... The company seems like it has good jobs, and pays well, but unfortunately I was hired at the truck shop in Garner. The first day there I found out that everyone in the shop must start their day in a huttle stretching..... for like ten minutes. Everyday, yoga stretches with grown burly men first thing in the morning! Then it's on to saftey meeting where you may be called on to conduct! Recruiter told me that they are expanding and needed more people. I think what he really meant was the atmosphere in the shop was so toxic, that no one would stick around. First week there I was tasked with cleaning, and reorganizing a huge rather filthy shop that I had no part of dirting.  Co workers, and shop management were very weasly, and snakey. This was more like a highschool type of environment than a professional shop. The software system on their laptops is very very NOT user friendly. You will spend two days of your orientation trying to learn it, heck even the teacher admitted it's almost impossible to use. Then you will have to ask everyone in the shop to help figure it out, once you go to work. Oh, and they will work you to the bone. They expect you to be working on two or three vehicles at a time. In the short period of time I was there I saw serious saftey issues on customers Day Care busses! due to rushing work. No sitting, no talking with coworkers. You have to wear saftey glasses, and gloves whenever you are working in the shop. Lol, and they are serious about it....

It's a ok company to work for, there is nothing special about it.  Co workers are really good for the most part.  Don't expect to really ever get anywhere here though.  Merit raises don't keep up with cost of living and inflation.  The last merit raise everyone got took a year and half to get and that was company wide.  You would think being a CAT dealer you would be able to get CAT factory training.  Fact of the matter is they don't send any construction technicians to ANY CAT factory training.  As far as pay goes it used to be considered good but they are not keeping up with everyone else.  Most of our customers and competitors either pay better or have significantly increased what they pay.  We have stayed the same for years now.  So if you like really steady never changing then this is the place to work.

One of the most enjoyable companies I've ever worked for!  I feel very privileged to work at Gregory Poole.  Before getting hired, I did my research and based on the many positive reviews from both current and former employees, I am yet another highly satisfied employee working alongside other great coworkers in a great work environment that is professional, yet fun, friendly, and casual.  Management takes time to personally visit all their locations and they truly spend time listening to their employees.  Management cares about its employees and you feel like you're part of a family.

Greg Poole III is a fantastic person and is passionate about making sure we are all safe and feel like members of a family.

Great start for any young people looking for physical work that will keep you stimulated. Warehouse is well organized and easy to understand, but can be slightly confusing when you get to the real bulky stuff like large metal products. Company is very enthusiastic about safety and gives you plenty of time to rest should you need it. Management is extremely unprofessional, do not expect anything more than the least amount of input or effort from them.

Soem managers have been there for years. Good and bad. Lost real world experiences with other companies. Changed from family oriented to nothing but numbers, to the detriment of their employees.
As self insured, a lot more of the burden is on the employee. That has increased in the years. This used to be a good, fun place to work. Not so much anymore. It changed about 5 or 6 years ago. Most "go through the motions" which has lowered the employees morale.

We get our work done thru out the day. We sometimes get free lunches, only a couple times a month. You can basically set your own schedule as long as its between 7am - 6pm. Set your own lunch breaks, leave the premises on your breaks. Nobody is standing over you to make sure you get all your work done!!

Typical day- Picking orders using a cart, forklift and/or order picker. Sorting them onto racks or into bins. Indoor & outdoor. A lot of super small items (like washers, nuts, bolts) and also a lot of heavy lifting. Cut & measure hose from time to time. Helped customers at pick-up counter. Delivered parts to techs. Wasn’t to fond of the management. A lot of favoritism and unprofessionalism. Otherwise an easy enough job 

Technicians are expected to work 50 hour work weeks, the pay makes up for this but during application and interview this was never mentioned. Company is very understanding when asking for time off both paid and unpaid. expect to immediately begin working on equipment repairs alone as soon as onboarding process is completed.

Unless you’re able to get a management job. Unless someone leaves or retires can be in a position for some time. I feel position is underpaid. I do love my job. Friendly and family oriented people. Easy to work with. Wish they had more positions before management to give you some advancement opportunities
