I won't lie, if I had written this review even 1-2 years ago, I would have said the culture was rough at this company. Audiologists used to steal patients from other offices and management ignored it, revenue goals were unattainable, no support from facilities, operations, or management (not their fault, just spread too thin). 

Now, there's new management with a transparent vision to make the company better for employees (finally someone who recognizes that happy employees make you more money). Some districts are without new management (still hiring I think), but mine is great - district manager is really knowledgeable and responds to questions in a timely manner. Pay is higher (with commission) than any local hospital or private practice. Benefits are good - standard time off/medical/dental plus what equates to a 3% 401k match (they say 6% but it is $0.50 to the $1). They also have referral bonuses and tuition reimbursement program. Some providers in my area have been here for 20 years. Lots of autonomy, which used to be a good thing AND a bad thing because of lack of support, but now it's great and I don't feel micro-managed, just supported. I feel like a healthcare worker again instead of a salesperson. Manager cares a lot about best practices. Still some growing pains when it comes to getting a response from facilities and operations about equipment, but I've got relatively new equipment including a PC-based audiometer AND REM that integrate directly with our own electronic medical record, so no need to upload handwritten audios or real-ear printouts. Lots of contests at the end of the year where you can earn a little extra bonus or gift card. Commissions on hearing aid sales don't require you to hit revenue, but if you do hit revenue you get even more commission. 

Summary: Lots to like and look forward to. Some growing pains, but who doesn't have those? So far I like where it's heading.

There is a difference between the company and the individual practice you may work at.  The upside is, you can make your practice your own.  The reality is that this company lacks any sort of goals other than a bottom dollar.  They have poor-to-zero communication abilities and a complete lack of training if needed, with no onboarding or exit processes, leave people hanging or to "figure it out" on their own.  The focus is solely on numbers, with abysmal marketing attempts at getting you there - daily money goals are shoved at you with little acknowledgement of your true efforts, and a complete lack of patient care.  This company loses when it comes to communication, ethics, practice management, patient care, and almost every facet of the daily job.  There is no opportunity for upward momentum, and with their antiquated philosophies and inability to change, I can't imagine how this company will succeed as a whole in even the short term.  If considering HearUSA, I would run (away).  Fast.

HearUSA is focused on our clients and our staff, making sure that we all have what we need and if we do not they work openly with us to make it happen within their ability. In the less than three years I have worked for this company, I have advanced in my position recently for the third time. HearUSA notices employees that put in the effort and work hard, it is important to go beyond together and that is what this company is all about. I have worked for other companies where you are just a body that they need in a position and HearUSA is not that company. We care about all of our employees and our clients.  Recently we have gone through a rebranding that is amazing and is making the experience even better for our patients as well as helping staff with an effortless day at work. If you are looking for a company that works hard to be open, upfront and honest while helping you grow your career allowing people to hear better, this is the company for you. 

I took a position and regretted it within a years time. I’ve spent many days and nights kicking myself for taking a job with this organization.  There is zero communication between management and employees. You are essentially left to fend for yourself no matter how complex or important the question may be, you’ll end up relying on fellow colleagues who are already spread thin. Management is non existent until they want to get on you about sales. There’s also no uniformity between offices, you’ll be reprimanded for doing something yet another office gets away with doing the same thing… which undermines the faith your patients have in you when they get things done differently elsewhere.  The offices, furniture and equipment leave a lot to be desired. I would not recommend working here, there are far better alternatives out there for employment trust me on this. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my professional career 

Training is poor. Pushed into the work place with limited support. Sales and numbers. That's all this company cares about. You are expected to make outbound calls everyday to fill up the schedule. Might as well call it a sales job. Extremely unrealistic expectations. Under paid for the work done. Hard work is never appreciated. Chance for promotion solely depends on your ability to butter higher ups. They will discourage you from helping patients after they have purchased hearing aids because they want to minimize any appointments that aren't 'income generating'. They do not provide drinking water. You clock out during your unpaid lunch but are still expected to stay in the office and take phones and tend to patients. Almost zero communication from higher ups even regarding things in your own office. No sick leave. You use the PTO that you accumulate. The list goes on and on. Find some place else that actually appreciates honest and dedicated work. 

This is truly the worst job I have ever had. Onboarding training was inadequate and even if it was good, everything is constantly changing and you will be yelled at for doing something that you didn’t even know was a thing. If management doesn’t like you or you make requests that they don’t like, they will ignore you. They do not care about their employees or the patients at all and their only goal is to sell sell sell. During the interviewing process they preached about how long employees stay at this company and how easy it is to move up in the company. Both of those are lies, in the few months I’ve been here, there has been so many providers/pccs who quit. Do not work here if you want a happy work environment, the pay is not good enough to sacrifice your mental health. 

On a daily basis I check the messages then quickly return the calls. From about 8:45 am the phone starts ringing, I make sure the charts for that day have been pulled and set up. The new patients have to come in prepared with the proper paperwork to proceed to the appointment. Assist patients with filling out the paperwork. Check and put together patients charts in order to file them away. Help patients with any problems with their hearing aids.

I was able to learn how to use CMS, enhance my Microsoft Office skills, verify insurances, place orders for the center to Aramark, Office Depot for supplies. Overnight packages through UPS. Scan paperwork  efax using Fuze.com.

Most enjoyable part of the job is when we can all sit down and laugh together.

Clock in at 8:30 and work without breaks or lunch to accommodate the walk in clients. Clock out at 5:00. Overtime to actually get your work done is not allowed. I learned about Hearing Aids, insurance verification, database management etc.. The management is not supportive and stick to their bottom line, push customers through and sell, sell sell, follow up care is frowned upon. The workplace culture, they spend all the money on marketing their own agenda but you are not rewarded for a job well done. The hardest part of my job was ignoring the management and provided great care to our customers. The most enjoyable part of the job were the customers and my provider, they helped me smile all day. 

I only worked there a short while. From my experience, the company had recently undergone a series of M&A's and a lot of new staff led to somewhat of a lack of company culture/identity. I can't really give a fair review given I was only there a short time during a transition period. There was a good open door policy with management, and even C-Level executives. Miscommunication between management and lack of standard operating procedures could make some days hectic. Staff in the office were generally very nice and welcoming. The company was flexible on letting you work around dr's appointments, etc.

This work place does not support the people that go above and beyond for them, just a pat on the back and even then you only get it when you bring it up. They are SUPER greedy with sales and the people that push you to sell more have no knowledge of clinic life or audiology. All they care about is if you make them money. As you get higher up in the company, you will be stretched as thin as possible to get as many things as you say yes to, to get done by one person. If you need ANY assistance it will take so long to get help because the one person you need is also helping 20 other clinics.
