A typical day for me requires the first 15 minutes waiting for someone above me to finally decide what I need to do that day. Sometimes as many as 3 people arguing over whats supposed to be done, when they just want to make themselves look better instead of just trying to get work done as efficiently as possible. After that I work as hard as I can keeping up with an unrealistic workload.
I have been doing the same job the entire time of being there. As far as the work goes I do enjoy it. I get to work hard and move heavy stuff all day. The work is easy. And because I'm so good at my job, I never stress about the work.
The real stress comes from knowing nothing I do or say makes any bit of difference. My machine is left untouched for days, even weeks at a time. So I get little to no help. Then management says that I don't need help. Since I'm the only person running my machine on all three shifts, I have a very intimate knowledge on not only how to do the job, but also how long it will take.
The management has implemented a new scheduling system that is unrealistic. They have jobs claiming to take two hours, when in actuality, it takes 13 to 15 hours. We dont make certain materials consistently well enough to cut production time on big jobs. Even when I confront management about the times, I am told they wont change it because it requires too much time and work on their end. So feeling overwhelmed, I thought maybe a raise would make up for it. But I cannot be given one. So even more downtrodden, I no longer feel appreciated or valued.
I give my ideas and concerns to numerous people. But I either get eyes rolled at me, or they simply walk away from me mid sentence. I ask questions to only receive answers that do not sound relevant. Or, I'm just outright interrupted and not given a chance to speak. 
I was promised more experience for higher up postions, but never received it. Thus leaving me unable to trust anyone.
Since I'm the essentially the only person running my machine, I figured why couldn't I move to a different shift? But could never get a straight answer. 
If the management wasn't bad enough, then I have to put up lazy workers. They have workers who have been there for 30 years, yet still don't know how to do their job. Ive personally seen terrible quality products done by these individuals. And when confronted about it they say things like "Nobody told me." or "I didn't know." Then when I confront management about it, with the bad product in hand as proof. All I hear is "Okay." or "I'll look into it." Weeks go by, and no punishment is given. And sure enough, that same operator is still making mistakes. So not only is there a lack of discipline, but also a lack of integrity. Other laziness refers to peoples lack of cleaning up after themselves. Not taking out the garbage. Taking extended breaks when they sit their entire shift. 
I frankly don't know why I stay. And I should speak up, but I have done so numerous times to absolutely no avail. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly, expecting different results. Thus, why I never speak up anymore. Clock in, get a free workout, go home. Nothing more, nothing less.

When I first started it was good and normal like any job, you get your training, learn the ins and outs and try to do your best. I was blissfully ignorant. As the weeks turned to months and getting on shift it was apparent Management has no idea what they are doing, they bring in new machines that dont work, and then begin removing machines that do work. They focus so much on the new, that the let the old machines wear down, and don’t have parts already ordered if anything breaks. They then “update” old machines, only to decide to again remove them, in favor of new machines, that they cant get properly running. Rather than substantially upgrading current machine, they rather waste money, on new machines that dont work, and gamble that some day they will. Taking massive losses in revenues, and losing corporate customers that put their product on shelves, due to outdated equipment causing those customers to have pause on if this is where’s they wish to invest and then pulling their investment from Henkel and looking for competitors that can fulfill the orders. The favoritism is unreal and exponentially higher than anywhere ive worked. You have employees who have been there 10 15 20 years, who do whatever they want, but the second any new person tries to follow suite, you get reprimanded while the old employees get a free pass to extended breaks, being able to under perform and are never held accountable. House keeping? Nope, they can do as bad as a job they want, but you have to clean no matter what, and get blamed for their messes. The workplace culture is “keep running” even when issues arise. Management will ask
“What were your numbers” never “how was quality?” Management will always look the other way for those with tenure, while new employees are left to rot. This is specific to certain departments, and you will never know where you truly work or what you will actually do until 2 weeks in after orientation. The only redeeming quality is that depending where you work and on what shift, the job is easy, as long as the machines work. Some departments have it figured it out, most are incompetent. Starting Pay is some of the lowest when compared to the other manufacturers around them. But they do give monthly give aways for soaps and product. Overall, only work here if you have no other options, or want to stop having to buy laundry soap.

Some of management tries their best including my current supervisor but unfortunately the site leadership is more interested in speaking in riddles then supporting the people who actually have a strong work ethic and show up to work every day, lots of deadwood in the building and certainly not limited to hourly employees.  Safety is preached but when it takes money to fix equipment it takes an act of congress to get anything done, some departments do whatever they want with no accountability others are observed under a microscope.   Benefits are reduced yearly as the company acquires more businesses under their portfolio shareholders and acquisitions take priority over rewarding and retaining talent I have watched over 6 engineers and supervisors leave past couple years for better opportunities elsewhere, Annual pay increases are minimal HR is useless with over 100 employees in the building an no HR support full time on site.  The employee turnover is embarrassing and never ending, some people don't even stay a whole day.  Job listings are about as honest as a political speech.  Sit in the break room and learn about how they invested billions into another acquisition, want a raise?  too bad there's a wage freeze.  It's a shame as it has really gone downhill the last few years.  People being brought in are expecting what is written in the job descriptions to be truthful but it doesn't take long to see how things are done in Seabrook.  Quantity outweighs quality every day.  The more you do the more they will ask you to do.  If you love training new people all the time this is the place for you.

Henkel has a corporate culture that is encourages a satisfied employee. It actively creates opportunity for career growth and is clear on its expectations are for day to day work and overall performance. It is a unique workplace that genuinely prioritizes customer satisfaction over immediate profit to cultivate long term relations. They are the ideal work smarter, not harder. 
The culture is very not at all toxic, and hires are equally judged on how they'd fit in just as much as their performance. 
However, from an engineering perspective, the work is not difficult. Most work done is record keeping and logging sales accounts across multiple platforms that are not in sync. Despite requiring ABET college graduates, most work can be achieved by a technically savy business major or someone with an STEM associates degree. 
The higher ups have lost vision on trying to keep up with corporate trends instead of streamlining processes. Flashy Ipads are great but aren't very useful on a microsoft and SAP platform that don't bridge easily. 
Sales force takes the weight of the company but doesn't get enough say in the direction. 
Strong communication is demanded for this job as it is primarily managing accounts and relations by delivering expectations while balancing the supported sales representatives demands. 
No one lasts longer than 3 years before transferring horizontally, promotion, or leaving limiting the tribal knowledge.

Henkel is not for the faint of heart.  Priorities keep shifting, management only cares about themselves and if the numbers are not met, severance packages are the rule NOT the exception.

Henkel has a "forced rating system" whereby other managers around the country who do not even know your name get to rate you against other employees in your band. You need to have a manager who advocates for you which means you'd better "kiss up" to your supervisor for the support you need for you rating.  Raises (minimal) are based on ratings so if you do not get the rating you deserve your pay takes a hit.  HR is a joke, HR works for the company NOT you so you will not get a fair shake voicing any concerns.

Favoritism abounds so be forewarned. if not one of the favorites, your career can quickly be stunted. If your career is stalled and the numbers do not come in as promised to Corporate, you could be targeted in a "restructure", meaning "laid-off". 

Lastly, be prepared to work long hours, especially if you are in the labs or Tech Service, you'll do quite a bit of traveling. Many times, the management team works remotely, a perk I guess if you're a manager.

You are fairly compensated when you start, BUT if you do not progress, your wages will stagnate. They have a bonus structure, but difficult numbers need to be hit to receive.  There stock purchase program is a PLUS, purchase shares at 30% of market pricing, and it pays a decent dividend, but you need to work 2-years to be eligible.

It was decent place to work for years. It was a job. Management was not very progressive and they are very inconstant across the board. It is a tough business and innovation is key and they are getting away from what made this company great. There is management left over from previous ownership groups there for 20+ trying to adapt to the Henkel style with very little direction it seems what they expect. Henkel never made this big of a purchase of another company and had a very poor plan to implement into the Henkel structure. They were very ill prepared for the size of Sun. Management style is always changing and they seem to go with the flavor of the month approach and seem to think bringing in management from the Auto industry is the answer. When in fact they are clueless also. You can advance if your willing to suck up and try and become a favorite. Best advise i would give someone is that you if you go to work there do your job to the best of your abilities and keep to yourself. The average workers there are great people you will meet some of the nicest people in your life. The management people there like to play games with your lives and are not appreciative of the average worker. This plant needs to stay in its lane and do what it did best which is make budget minded detergents at low prices. Leave the premium market to the big boys and plants with established procedures and proven innovation.

Henkel is a great starter company, good for gaining experience and self-improvement for entry-level professionals with little to no experience who see themselves moving on after 2-3 years.

There is a disconnect between the ideals and goals of upper management (Board/CEO/Executive level), and middle management. Significant reductions in staff, investments in facilities and everyday supplies, and lackluster, unsupportive managers have lead to low morale, high frustration levels, job insecurity, tension and competition among team members, and feelings of being undervalued and unappreciated amongst employees. 

The work itself can be exciting and rewarding, but somewhere along the line there is a disconnect between what the company says it looks for in managers and the actual qualities in the managers. If this could be improved, this would be a much better company to work for.

Salary and benefits are average to below average compared to similar companies.

I’ve been a mechanic there over 3 months. You don’t do pms, or really anything mechanical. You will only run the lines, clean and sweep floor. They can’t keep workers , that’s why they are always hiring. The line mechanic or operator mechanic, are treated poorly. You will not be respected, all you will be is a machine operator. You won’t get any training except on how to run the line and paperwork. They run short and are too lean. There is no benefit to being a mechanic, this is why most of the mechanics go to be just operators , they are not treated well. They pay structure is based on operators, nothing more for being a mechanic. You will work all the time 13 days in a row, 1 day off and than start again. The benefits while good are very very expensive, especially when you consider your hourly rate. Keep in mind they do pay every week , so if you take a job there which I would not recommend. They will take out benefits every week, which they don’t tell you till after you start. To put perspective on it, I’m paying about 500 per month for insurance. Management is horrible , they fail us every single day in every way, from the plant manager to HR, to the floor managers. The best advice I could give you , if you have a job I can assure you it’s not as bad as it is here keep looking. . I start my new job at a different company in a week. 

Worst company to work for I have applied for eight hour shift now they are mandatory 12 hour shifts 6 days a weeek it was 48 hours a weeks 6 days a week when I started now this is taking advantage of there workers!!   They take all management sides always employees of production n quality are not worth anything to them they treat u like u are nothing   They will not give u the bonus they say they give until months later when they feel like approving it so don’t think u will get any bonus on time ..  company is backed up 4 million in debt and wan the new workers to suffer because there wrong choices before.   Don’t apply u will quit.    Henkel has Human Resources that will not answer anything or if u have vacation time and it’s already approved and they feel like they need u they will say u are denied your vacation the day of so u have no time to change plans or anything they do not care about any of there employees!!! They think they are machines trying to run us 24 /7. We are humans !!! We need breaks we can not work  come home sleep to wake up n have no time to be with our kids or family’s we have to go straight to work can’t get a doctor apt no time I have to go to work it’s ridiculous I am currently looking for new employment due to these issues they refuse to  help any of there employees on the floor!!! 

I believe Henkel as a cooperate company may be a good company to work for, however management, communication, human resources and safety are all issues at the Salisbury plant. Family and all activities outside of Henkel AI Salisbury are compromised, relationships and quality of life suffer tremendously. Operators are often misinformed, job scheduling and crew alignments are constantly changing, rules are bent as it benefits the company and management, safety is compromised to push production and no one is held accountable for their mistakes and actions so punishment is left to fall on operators as a whole. Management has lied to customers and then placed blame on operators resulting in pay cuts and job loss. Raises and advances in levels are misrepresented and held back even after reaching the time limit rule. Operators are being expected to take on more responsibility and preform higher level operations without receiving any change in rate of pay. Be sure to check pay checks each week, due to payroll accidently short changing hourly employees and it will take weeks to be reimbursed.
