There is a high turn over rate of staff for a reason. I worked as an ICM for the company and the supervisor is not organized. She will delegate her work to staff and call off often. You work with clients with severe mental health in their homes and not having proper supervision to deal with their situation is a challenge. Supervision is a waste of time, supervisor in the Easton Office will often speak about irrelevant topics and not have an answer for handling case load. You will either have too many clients or too little and not make enough hours. Staff teach each other, there is no proper training to improve the quality and effectiveness of your skills unless you are disciplined and seek answers independently. You will OFTEN be on call and have to leave your home to handle crisis. This will affect your personal life as you won't be able to plan for things when on-call or when your clients are in crisis, which happens all the time. Your vacation requests will be denied constantly. Their policy is one staff on vacation at a time, holidays times included. When co-workers are out sick you will have to pick up part of their case load. Very low pay, especially with their expectations. Healthcare is not affordable. Each week you only accrue about 3 hours of vacation time, staff often take those hours and use them towards their pay when clients are low or hours were not met due to cancellations or no show appointments for which you do not get paid. Co-workers are pleasant and willing to assist one another. Supervisor has been there many years and staff are afraid to confront her with their concerns and complaints of discrimination, poor management and disregard of your personal time. Very unlikely you may advance in the company as an ICM.

This company screws so many people over. The previous hired group all quit together because of the poor supervision and management. The supervisor is older and will pawn her responsibilities off on everyone else. When you ask for supervision or questions regarding your safety she states "I don't worry about what if's" , so you are left to try to figure out what to do on your own. When you start, you get a caseload of 30+ people and you are on your own of what to do or figure out what they need. The supervisor doesn't want to learn the new computerized system and just throws her hands up when she requires doing any type of work. She calls out all the time for stupid reasons, like not wanting to drive in the rain (even though she expects you to risk your life for a job). The management is terrible. I didn't get paid my paychecks and mileage on time. You have to call and complain to multiple higher ups to get your pay. The company goes through a HUGE turnover , but truthfully it's mainly because of poor management. The job wears on you. They demand a lot of hours, lots of notes/documentation time that you don't get paid for (at home on your own time), and that you are expected to drop what you are doing to go meet with someone (even if you already have clients scheduled). The amount of work and mileage/gas you have to waste on your car is rediculous. The clients aren't based in the same area and you are running around from place to place inefficiently. You'll be lucky if you see your mileage checks. They don't pay you the mileage at the same time as your paychecks, which doesn't help. They are very sporadic and you don't know when you will get it. I wouldn't recommend working for this company, at least in the LV area anyways...

Working here was rewarding,therapist and ICM'S  are amazing,ICM coordinator is great and runs his program with true devotion he is approachable and very involved in his programs day to day running,ICM supervisor is equally devoted.Therapist are great, Outpatient is a mess they have been assigned a supervisor who has no back bone and is not capable of adressing some very important situations.Payroll is terrible and only your supervisor can contact them,they will not give you contact information for payroll,on 3 different occasions in 2 years i was not paid  and 2 of those times i had to wait untill my next paycheck 2 weeks later,you get yesd  to death and nothing is ever done or addressed , if you take this position be ready to run the office for unfair pay,supervisor does not care who does the work just that it gets done.If you want to work in a an office which provides no safety and shrugs their shoulders when you raise  concerns then this is the place for you.Please make sure you are a fast eater because your 30 minute forced non paid lunch break will be taken between answering the phone and opening the door.The office is extremely outdated in comparison to the other branches who all have updated safety and basic commodities.You will learn a lot but please know that you will have to fight for that knowledge often asking for training and just asking around but not the supervisor because he is there to supervise and has no clue how to do any of the things you will be handling,be ready to be the last office to findout policy changes,calling out for days at a time is fine just know that when anyone else does you will be covering them as they had to cover you.

Holcomb is the absolute worst company to work for. In the beginning of my tenure it was great until they terminated all of the higher ups and got new ones who do not care about the well being of their employees. The regional director will say one thing to your face and then turn around and throw you under the bus and not provide you with any support. Human Resources constantly lies to the employees and does not give anything in writing despite asking numerous times. They constantly switch you between full time and part time with no warning based on your productivity levels. I was unable to meet my productivity requirements due to the intake department not scheduling me with any new clients despite me alerting the department of my availability. Holcomb wants a therapist to have an 80% productivity goal but in my 5 years working there I only ever averaged about 60%, they are essentially setting you up for failure. There is also a major lack of communication between the higher ups and the rest of the employees. My pay was incorrect on numerous occasions and I would have to contact the Department of Labor due to no one correcting my pay. When COVID first occurred they were refusing to pay me for the administrative work I was doing, that week I worked Monday-Friday and on Friday the regional director sent out an email saying effective immediately the therapists can no longer do admin work. Based on that email I was told that my work that was already done would not be paid for. You couldn't pay me a billion dollars to work for this horrific company again. 

I do not recommend this company to anyone, whether you are just starting your career or have many years of experience, it’s in your best interest to seek employment elsewhere. This company blatantly lies to the state during yearly licensing, and asks their employees to do the same. As a manager, payroll was constantly paying my employees incorrectly and deleting their hours, and it was always a fight to get my staff their proper pay, and it would often take two weeks for their pay to be corrected. Additionally, the company doesn’t offer raises for their employees that have dedicated many years to the company, and the pay rate for every position is significantly lower than the average industry standard. Holcomb is severely understaffed and the hiring process takes 2+ months before a new employee is cleared to begin working, which at that point the new employees likely sought employment elsewhere. As a result, current employees are worked 7 days a week, and are not permitted to use earned PTO, as their will be no coverage in their absence. Trying to contact upper management for anything is nearly impossible, or they will promise to call you back, and you will never hear from them. The list of things wrong with this company truly goes on, but the final thing worth mentioning is that this company offers bare minimum training for each position, and you will be left figuring everything out on your own, and lack of training is a disservice to the clients. Steer clear from this company.

Taught problem-solving skills, identified and combat negative self-talk. Support the vocational choices consumers made and assist them in overcoming job-related anxieties and conflicts. Assist consumers in building social skills by demonstrating and reinforcing proper conduct and respectful interaction, assisted non-consumer staff in identifying program elements that are supportive or destructive to recovery. Utilize his/her unique recovery experience to teach and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience. Maintain effective coping and self-help techniques. Developed professional skill by maintaining certification through required coursework. Investigated community resources for appropriateness of services to consumers, Maintain confidentiality of consumer information, Fulfilled documentation requirements accurately and in a timely manner also prepared treatment plans, bio-psychosocial assessment, weekly progress notes, completed discharge plans and summaries. Transported consumers to appointments and kept an accurate account of all clients scheduled appointment

A typical day at the Open Door Drop-In Center would accommodate 20-25 clients. The amount of those consumers that attend the Center has dropped lately. Many have moved to other assisted living arrangements.
What I've learned is the input to help Recovery within a person can take many forms (affirmation,kindness,discipline,empowerment, and reward) but the outcome can result in a variety of behaviors that are unpredictable. Love and Persistence does result in a positive outcome.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with the co-workers moods and behaviors (everyone that works here has some form of Mental Illness-sometimes severe). Oftentimes a co-worker has to overlook various remarks or behaviors from another worker for the greater good of the Center !
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing a client (mentally ill ) do something positive to helps themselves. Sometimes it is a positive step that one doesn't see in the clients daily routine. It warms my heart though !

The only enjoyable part of this job was working the clients, but even that was sometimes difficult when you presented problems to management above you and nothing was ever addressed. There is a complete lack of responsible management from top to bottom.    Strong communication skills is obviously not a job requirement for this company as it does not exist here. The training is abysmal, yet you are expected to know certain things that are never explained to you. The hours are not guaranteed as clients do cancel.  The company pays under the rate for standard mileage reimbursement.   Management had asked for availability for a certain time frame months in advance, and yet I still went a month without any assigned clients.  If you are newly out of college and are looking for work experience, look elsewhere. It is not worth your time or the underpaid compensation you are receiving.

Not somewhere anyone would want to stay. It is not very sustainable short term and absolutely not long term. There is NO support given from management, upper management, and HR. The supervisor and director do not have adequate support and therefore are unable to do their jobs effectively. The supervisor position was also eliminated without notice or explanation. There are no raises or incentives. And policies change abruptly, without notice, and many times result in incorrect paychecks and benefit reductions. The position and details given to me at the interview were not an accurate representation. And there was basically no training or onboarding for my position. If you want to constantly beat your head up against the wall- this may be the company for you. Otherwise do not work here because I guarantee you, you will NOT be respected or valued. 

During my job with Holcomb I enjoy working and meeting a committed group of professionals. None of the employees including myself where there for personal gain they were all passionate in treating and providing mentally ill patients with a more independent and dignified life. Sadly in terms of balance between field work and office work their expectations were very unrealistic and for the amount of stress, lack of safety and limited growth potential their compensation fell really short.

I truly enjoyed the field work and giving my clients some hope to fight the stigma of mental illness. I cultivated some great friendships including my immediate supervisor I.G; who is the most professional, empathetic and selfless supervisor I ever had.
