This job is not what it use to be back then. The department is extremely toxic to the point where people come in and go. Management does not care for its employee. They will not advocate for their employees mental health or physical health, they see that as a weakness and will throw you out.  Employees are easily to replace, despite the dedication or experience you have there. Benefits and vacations are a joke, the lady in charge of schedule will constantly mess up your schedule and either give u too many hours or not enough. As well as, always promising to give full time employees their benefits but never do and try to keep you at per diem. When requesting for vacation, you gotta ask almost 6 months in advance and most likely they declined your offer and tell you no even if someone can cover (vacation, recovery, maternity/paternity leave). Forget about complaining about others because management will not do anything about it and will say they’ll talk or do something.  They play favoritism and don’t like people who have a voice and try to speak up. Management constantly changes menu and gives you multiple job duties for others positions to one person. We use to be able to grab any food or drink for free. Now, you have limited of free food, or you pay for it and have to show a receipt. Pay is decent but not equivalent to the amount of work they make you do. Plus, if work part-time/per diem you get no break. This job you have to figure it out for yourself, don’t expect people to stick up for you or help you. 

No breaks.... and most days you won't be able to take a lunch because you have so much work to do. One person is doing the job it normally would take 3 people to do... just so they can save money. 

My dept. work hours were suppose 8:30 -5:30, however  we never left before 6:30/7  (M-F). After working there for a few months management decided to change the schedule to add Saturdays.  They advised us on a Thursday with the change starting that weekend. ( they didn't care if you had plans or not). At the end of the day they didn't care for complaints since they felt they paid you enough. There was no work/home balance... it was always work, work ,work.. even after your scheduled hours... my co-workers said it has a high turn over rate and in the last 2 years -management has been "restructured " three times.

HR is helpful the first week of work then not so much... payroll department makes a lot of mistakes. ( triple check your pay check). If  either department requests paperwork ---always keep a record, you will need it.

It has a day/child care center, but the prices are very high... its one set price for everyone.

The company has a program where it allows you to bring your in your sick child  and they will watch him/her for no fee... ( so you don't have to call out... LOL.... )

I was working for almost 2 years in this horrible place, and trying to leave as soon i find out there is so much work place harrasment in the ER. Human Resources do not do anything to help employees but to put them down even more. The new environmental manager is a liar and doesn't know anything about the job. I was accused of being late and transmitting negative to other employees when I successfully passed probation time and offered a full time position by the manager. I had to contact the department of labor and OCR department to defend myself from accusions made by the manager. Many employees get fired and so many left traumatized from this individual. You cant even collect unemployment because they send false reports to the unemployment office and give bad feedback when they get called for reference (so you wont get a new job). You cant even transfer to a different department, and they will start writing you up for things you never done or time has passed for you to remember (3 to 6 months). Management are not professional because of their lack of education.

I enjoyed working with each of the department team leaders and received great support from all. I found the senior leadership team to be highly dedicated to their staff making Holy Name one of the nicest environments to work in. Their network of physicians is one of the most talented I have ever seen, and I enjoyed working with each one and their staff members. Most impressive is the institution's dedication and committment to helping a hospital in India. Many of their senior department leaders have given of their time to improve and bring better conditions to this effort. Most hospitals think only of their bottom line - it was refreshing to see such an outreach of time and financial support to such a deserving initiative.

Expectations for nurses are set really high but overall compensation and gratitude from the higher ups is lacking. Expectations are to handle 6-7 patients with little to no help from the charge nurse   Or managers while making sure you’re following all policies or else. Nurses are easily blamed for everything. Depending the floor, med Surg, the work culture and management can be toxic. Only good thing is the insurance. Training for new grads is lacking, they do simulations to make it seem like they’re actually training but cut on the job training to just 8-10 weeks. Honestly the workload and expectations are what make me not recommend this place. Either look for somewhere with a lower ratio or look at outpatient because the pay is really not worth all the work we do

Poor management,  they will work you hard till death but there's no recognition for what they call "Aides" 
Unfortunately the floor I was working on I ended devastated every single day. Working with very few helpful nurses maybe 1 or 2  the rest of them will not work as a team they'll leave the aides work alone lifting heavy people themselves. Very selfish floor.
Stay away from Vietnam, where no one wants to float nobody wants to work there. I wish I've started in a different floor, my story will be different. 
The only thing I missing from there are my good friends and people from environmental,  humbled people I was blessed to have worked with them.
Vietnam needs a new Leader A.S.A.P

HNMC OR is an extremely family oriented place: our staff works well together ,however we are very very short staffed with a lot of agency nurses and techs helping us . We recently had 7 employees retire and several others sustain injuries . Management stands behind us and supports Nursing independence 
The staff frequently socializes outside of the OR as well as in 
We have a multicultural staff: The hospital has an established Korean program.  The staff is always encouraged to further their knowledge base and offer some reimbursements.  I find the hardest part of my job is the commute. We are responsible for taking call since we do not have a night shift.

The best thing I enjoyed about my job was the interaction with the Vendor I worked closely with. They were the BEST!
As far as my co-workers, really met some nice people that "KEPT IT REAL"

If you are a new employee do not expect much, their OnBoarding welcome is the worst. Could use some polishing from HR.

The spiritual /professional culture has change significantly in the last 10 years.  There was little opportunity to grow in this setting as a “spiritual counselor” and or social worker.  Upper management and supervison was either unqualified or non supportive.  
However, families and clients  were appreciative and benefited from the excellent end of life support they received on the micro level. The interdisciplinary team experience was quite effective and beneficial for communication and collaboration of services and goals of families and clients.

Advice to Management
Learn to get with the times. Stop caring so much about patient safety scores that your nurses lose basic nursing care because they’re focused on pleasing everyone. Focus on changing your toxic culture because this is causing your high turnover rate.
