As a professional RN, I expect people to keep their word and have the support of the company. With HCP of Texas you are on your own. Schedulers control your destiny and the management doesn't have a clue on how to run things. Therefore, the bottom line is more and more with less and less. When I started I was promised a 30 mile radius. I said zero integrity because in less than one month I was driving about 200 miles a day. I put on over 10,000 miles on my vehicle in my first 4 months with the company. You have to be able to do 30 points which amounts to close to 6 visits a day and staying on their horrible computer system until 10 o'clock at night. Their system is so antiquated to compare it to Kinnser or home care home base would be a travesty. If you are offered a job with this company you will not have any time for your family, for yourself, or time to see your dentist or doctor. It's just run, run, run...patient to patient then on computer all night. You will hate this company in no time because they really do not value RN's and only care about the bottom line: MONEY, REFERRALS, SOC!  I feel they don't care about their patients just the bottom dollar. The benefits are so expensive you can't afford for your spouse or family; however, it's not like you have time to do anything but work at 30 points per week. You get one point for a ROC which takes over 4 hours on computer. My recommendation is go to a better run organization with a more defined territory. This company will have you driving to all ends of the Earth at any time. They change your schedule all the time so when you look at it in the morning it's different so you have to contact your patients to reschedule. Just be happy and go somewhere else or suffer the consequenes of a painful life with ZERO work balance, ZERO integrity, ZERO professionalism, just empty promises from a lacking group of people motivated by numbers.The most uncaring home health agency out there! The insolence! The lacking in common decency or common sense. Run for the hills if you get an offer from them.

During my visits with the patients, I try to get them to open up to me so that each visit will be comfortable to them, and a lot of wound dressing and cleaning the patients occurs. Many of the patients symptoms are different, and there have been patients who I have had to do wound care and catheter care on which is a great experience. Also, each month the company has the Home health aide's to take ceu test to keep our minds fresh while caring for the patients. This company also has each worker to insert their visits on the company website, as well as sending any messages that pertains to a patient. I basically travel to each patients home while staying an hour with each one. My co-workers are always out on the field working, and if an employee needs supplies is the only time he or she will see each other or for meetings. Turning a 300lb. patient might be the hardest part of the job, other than that its fairly easy and with my great communication skills I have never had a complaint and always told the patients to let me know how I'm doing. Taking care of the patients and talking with them gives me great joy.

I was hired at Home Care Providers of Texas with high hopes, I thought that I would stay for several years. Very quickly, within about 2 months, it became clear to me that I would be leaving before too long. They work on a quota system and the nurse will always lose when there is a conflict. Patient not answering the phone? Patient not answering the door? Patient refuses admission? The nurse is looked down upon, I've heard the talk in the office, "That nurse just doesn't like to work!" It will be held against the nurse the next day, "You didn't meet quota yesterday. You have to make it up today."

I always felt like I was being shorted on my check, even though I was on salary. I was just so busy that I never had time to do the research to prove it, but it happened several times. There are so many moving parts in their system, its a moving target. I'm just glad that I don't have to wonder anymore if I am being paid correctly

The saddest part about my experience is that HCP of Texas is one of the better home health companies that I have worked for. That doesn't say much for the home health industry. I have worked home health for several years. I'm done. My advice is to work in a hospital or other facility. There are just too many negatives with Home Care Providers of Texas.

Great people at ALL LEVELS of the company, working at HCP of TX has been great, the culture of the company is wonderful, and everyone I work with beyond amazing. Everyone has their good and bad days, but at HCP I have never worked for a company that has been short of nothing but great! Workers here, are amazing, and so helpful. I have worked here going on 4 months, and every experience I had so far, has been nothing but good. The owners know your name, they actually do make an effort to help you, even at any level of employment! They are as invested in the companies day to day operation just like any other employee. HCP has given a future to look forward too, and for that I am beyond thankful. Management without a doubt is ALWAYS helpful. Everyone is treated with the upmost respect, and given space to do their job in peace & privacy. The hardest part of my job is I am constantly busy, but I do not have a reason to complain, because I like to stay busy, my hours are great, love the 8-5!  The most enjoyable part of my job is that I have developed a very healthy work ethic, and love the work environment at HCP. I would really recommend people to apply @ HCP! You will not be disappointed! (:

I have been a field RN here for over 3 years,  I have the greatest scheduler,  we have become good friends over the years and she takes great care of me while I am in the field.

I have been given raises on time,  but there again,  I am one of the ones who actually do my job and do it well.

I see complaints about no promotions,  but you have to work and do you work well in order to succeed in any career,  I don't think its fair to judge when you cant perform.

There are new Medicare rules coming in 2020,  its going to be different,  but home health has changed greatly over the past 10 years that I have been in it.

I do feel at least with HCP,  I have a job to go to,  I don't have to worry about losing it.

The DON has always listened to me and any concerns I have had,  mind you,  its not been perfect every day,  but I have been at other agencies that I didn't feel as comfortable with.

That makes a big difference when you don't have to worry about your livelihood.

Overall,  I plan on staying here,  and recommend this company,  I have already received several referral bonuses for bringing in other top notch nurses to work with us!

It's a good place to work....I guess for the money.  As long as you are doing your job for the money..You are good.  If you are to put your patients before yourself and help as needed...then don't.  If accused of anything..You are automatically guilty without investigation.  There is no room for you to prove your innocence. No. They don't give a hoot...maybe it's also going to be a learning process for them...I mean the owners and the managers....to say the least....was dumb founded by 0 to 100 turn from the loving to oh sorry we have to do what we have to do..by the people I called family. Ain't no family here. It's all buisness. If you are that person that wants buisness only and no commitment to your job and team members...this is a place for you.  But...If you go above and beyond to make them happy and the ones you are taking care of....then...No.....their ain't no room for mistakes....or training to resolve that mistake. More education and disciplinary measures  teaching and manners of handling conflicts is a big fail.

Out of all HH companies I have work for, this one stands, The DON is very patient, a great listener, The ADON is quick the answer as well as the IV team leader,  I have learned to cope even more with stressful situations given the fact of COVID cases and demands/guideliness changes. Also culture wise I got to meet dirreferent coworkers from differents nationalities. I enjoyed the most the recovery of my people/pts. Going back to their independence and sometimes back to work, My only complaint is my coverage area, Too far from home, Not assigned pts close to my area which will allowed me more time with my visits and waste more time driving, The CEO also answer your emails personally and is very kind, For our covenience the supplies are send direcrly to our home, no need to travel to corporate office, Meetings are done over the phone no need to  travel to corporate as this is a large company privatly own, If it wasnt bc of the time spent driving they will get a 5 star. 

I have been a RN for home health for 15 years,  I think I have seen it all!

I do like this company,  the major thing is no office time for me.
I cover a more rural area and driving into an office take quite a bit of my time away from me.  So this and online case conferences was a huge benefit for me.

It took me a couple of weeks to get their software down,  but its fairly simple,  I have a dedicated scheduler who works with me if I need to move patients etc.  They even have a coding team,  so I don't have to code my own notes.

Shipping supplies to me is another benefit....  I did run out the other day and an office staff member who lives close to me brought me some...  

PTO is good,  I was able to sell some of mine last year and have extra money for Christmas!

Insurance for kids can be high tho....  I make a little more than my last job,  but I did get a sign on as well,  oh and I also referred two RN's and got bonuses for that as well.

HR guy is responsive and the DON always answers my calls,

I have worked for Home Care Providers of Texas for not yet 1 year; I have be impressed with the integrity of the Medical Manager and VP of Operations & Finance Manager patients aren't kept of services if there isn't a need and discharged accordingly.  Employees are allowed freedom and are required to take ownership.  The pay is reasonable, from what I have seen no one is micromanaged, more about ownership & accountability.  The owners of the company are very much involved however they have more pressing issues to address and rely on the Managers & Directors to handle day to day operations.  The environment is relaxed and comfortable which affords staff the opportunity to be themselves.  No one is taken advantage of however sometimes I feel its a sense of entitlement, we are rewarded for a job well done by staying employed and receiving a paycheck.

I have wonderful things to say about this company!  I have been a sales and marketing rep here for 6 and a half years and was promoted into management after my third year.  
The compensation plan is stellar--they have competitive base salaries, PLUS a commission and bonus plan that is second to none!  The management structure is laid back, but the competition is fierce, so I would only recommend this position to sales people that are self- and money-motivated.  Management will not breathe down your throat, but you are expected to produce.
The office culture is also laid back, but very fast paced.  The owners are very generous and wonderful people!  They take their top sales people on lavish, amazingly fun vacations and work hard to stay involved with what's going on in their company and the overall healthcare industry.
