BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL and ill-mannered management/staff! ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM for growth whatsoever. The ONE training class is a joke (like  a two hour class and you never see management again); they send you to clients that you aren't even prepared to take care of ( I was given clients with Schizophrenia and other serious issues that I had no clue how to handle....very IRRESPONSIBLE of HOMENURSE!). 

They expect you to always fill in for other employees but REFUSE to compensate you in any way (no pay for mileage/gas). I've had so many clients complain about the employees that were being sent out to them - told them to alert Homenurse...they say they do and nothing is ever done; very sad but not surprised. 

The Pay SUCKS and they won't even provide you with gloves, but send you to client's homes that have serious issues where you definitely need them! Don't bother asking for a raise even when you go above and beyond...I actually had a manager send me a message in ALL CAPS (that's actually the norm, ALL CAPS and messages riddled with grammar errors) saying "Didn't you just ask/get a raise like 9 months ago...?" It was a $.50 RAISE! Managers don't respond in a timely manner and when they do they are very rude, unprofessional, almost back country backwards! I had one manager call to of course ask me to fill-in and when I said NO, she got hostile with me, yelled and hung up on me. Who does this? This company does NOT value its workers at ALL and that's who keeps them up and running. I would NOT recommend this company if you are looking for a caring and respectful employer, an opportunity to grow, to be compensated for things that any normal businesses would compensate you for, benefits of ANY kind, a support system from staff....you know...the normal things any good honest company would provide for their employees. Only good thing, the clients are wonderful (well most:).

My typical day involved,
Clean and organize work patients and family areas.
Engage patients with conversation and support daily needs.
Position patients for comfort and to prevent skin pressure problems.
Transfer patients in and out of wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.
Completed and Submitted patient documentation in accordance with guidelines.
Keep patient and work areas neat and well stocked.
Provided transportation assistance and companionship to clients.
Assisted with adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
Documented all data in computer systems and paper files.
Adhered to all hospital, company and government regulations.
Participated in all patient care and quality assurance initiatives.
Efficiently used supplies to maintain cost control guidelines.
Management was nice and somewhat understanding.
Work envirnment was my ideal job taking care of others.
The hardest part of the job was the lack of hours, pay and no paid mileage so you basically paid to work.
Most enjoyable part of the job was spending time and caring for my patients.

Clients are usually difficult to satisfy and Everytime you address your "supervisor" about any issues, usually you are at fault and no matter how you explain your concerns you have to alter whatever it is youre being told your doing wrong and make sure you keep your client happy. Your  "supervisor" is usually doesn't fully understand your concerns bease they have never met you or your client so they just go asked off of them assuming your client is someone that needs assistance. Which in most cases NONE of the clients are ACTUALLY LEGIT disabled.  They can all do things for themselves they just choose not too because they have the luxury of getting their Medicaid to pay for someone to wait on them hand and foot.

I worked for this company for over a year and half. They do not care about employees and barely listen to concerns with the client unless forced to listen. If they feel they will lose a client via state coming in they do whatever is needed immediately but prior to them knowing that the state is coming in and they are about to lose a client or employee for that matter they just don't care. They hire anyone that can pass their tests , to get into a clients home then they just forget them. The payroll dept is seriously a hot mess . You can't even check on your earnings via the website because something is always wrong with it. If you call your supervisor and don't speak to them you leave a message that never gets returned .
The clients are the only thing good about this company.

i have worked with this company almost 3 years and have never been given a raise, even when asked for recently. NO benefits at all, NO holiday pay or sick/vacation pay. 
 Typical work depends on your clients needs. I have had anything from disabled to elderly, bathing, errands, help with colostomy bags, catheters, wound care, cooking, cleaning.. etc.
 Its has taught me a lot in health care, so i would say its a great place to start. But you cant depend on your income and hours. 
My boss at the moment is Great. Karen works with me on my schedule and is friendly. But the management of the company to help employees and treat with respect to the hard workers is poorly.

I enjoyed working with clients one-on-one. Fix breakfast for my client then help them get a bath or shower. I learn that everybody needs help, no matter what type of back ground you come from.Management was okay, they listen when you had a concern about a client. I didn't really get to know my co-workers that well working in the home. the hardest part for me was trying to get my client to doctor visits, not knowing the area that well. The most enjoyable time was spending time with my client out shopping.

I loved the Clients this company had , however communication and management is lacking in all area's . They send you out to do a job and don't care how its done or if it's done , as long as the client doesn't complain ( and elderly won't complain because of fear ) . Tax information is never correct , 2 years in a row they didn't do my paperwork right , and they use a website that is inaccessible for learning what was taken out . The hardest part of this job was when you had difficult clients , the company just didn't care . If abuse was going on in the home by family , you were discouraged in calling in APS or other authorities , you had to speak with a supervisor who just never answered her calls nor return them .

What is the best part of working at the company?
They work with you on any problem you have and get it worked out for your best interest in a reasonable matter. The clients are the best. Pay is not bad either. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I honestly don’t have stress to deal with at my clients house. I can’t say every home is this way but I’m thankful for my client and family.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Laidback, clean, family oriented, full of love 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No different than what you would do at your own home for your loved ones. You’re just working and caring for someone in their own home.

I work in this position during the summer months. I enjoyed working for the company. Management was respectful at all times. They were always available to give support. I felt respected and valued at this company. The client was great to work with. If I did not move away, I definitely would have stayed with this company. I have only great things to say concerning the company. The pay is decent and there were never any issues with receiving my check on time. The documentation is easy and the client was a joy to work with.

If they assign you a client that is suppose to get 7 days a week service you will have to up every single day with not one off day. I worked for them for over a year 7 days a week 365 days a year. I never got one pay raise, There is absolutely no moving up in the company. If you need help in a emergency situation your out of luck and better figure it out. Most the clients just want a house keeper. I broke my back cleaning a 3 story house every day and never seen the client once. If the wife or husband/ person over client tells you to do something you have to do it. Your there for them not the client. You may also work for only 2 hours a day.
