my day at work {was} usually as smooth and fun .I learned to listen to people more and a lot of medical stuff the management and crew was very understanding and workable you can like be your own boss excepting your own hours  and the shifts you wish but I loved being on a schedule . the hard part was to get the clients to like you and get them to take pills and try to not get attached to the ones that pass. your making friends and just helping them feel their best a lot of clients didn't like the company and how it was run but they kept the company because  their moms or aunts wanted me for their caregiver .the males was the hardest because they can be touchy touchy just stand your ground with boundaries .the ladies loved their walks,exercising or therapy time we had and taking them their fun activities ,family BBQ ,i do miss the clients that had passed including the males that as just l.o.l in love with the caregivers which got the family thinking weird questions about me accused  on a few weird things or every time I came back from my days off the other caregivers would do things wrong and I had to fix or report it and I had about had it so I left if your not a caregiver who doesn't like to cook for clients bc how their clients are just work at retirement apartments for the elders like the ranch.

This company is one of so many home health care agencies nowadays!  What sets Homewell apart from the majority, is that even the owners of our company come out to meet and visit clients, introduce the new assistants to the new clients, which lessens the tension for both the client as well as the assistant.  They are extremely compassionate for the clients and their employees,  Brandi, the staff coordinator, she works her butt off keeping all of us as happy and content as she does myself and the 4 other ladies i actually run into , as we all work for one 24/7 client, we are allowed to have a good time as long as our jobs get done,, and of course, there have been times, when someone needed to leave early, etc. and Brandi, somehow, keeps it all together and I've not had a time, to date, where my shift ended and no relief arrived at my end shift time. There's a lot to be said right there alone!!  Personally, its not easy for me to drive the roads all the time, and so I requested to work clients near my home, and thus far, I've been able to work more than full time hours each week, and not have to drive any further than 17 miles from my home.

During the time I worked  as a Personal Assistant at HomeWell, which was 9 years, I was always impressed with the care and compassion shown by the HomeWell family to all of their clientele. They would not hesitate to make certain that each individual was safe, comfortable with their caregiver, and receiving both the care outlined in the care plan  and the emotional support needed to thrive as well.  
Numerous regular visits were made by both the nurse and the case manager to assure all was well at home. . 
I feel that HomeWell upholds the highest integrity of a home health company doing what is in their power to accommodate each individual's needs.  I highly recommend HomeWell to those seniors and individuals in need. 
I treasure my experiences with both clients and staff.  My pay was appropriate to the work I did which was hourly as well as live-in.  I received all the work I could handle and then some. I made myself available as much as possible.  I loved the variety of the people I served as well as the staff.

Great company to work for! A company that truly cares about the clients and staff equally. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If you did have a difficult situation in a home, the  company really worked with you to fix the situation and make it better, for all involved!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment! A company that truly cares about you and their clients! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would usually have received my shifts prior to start of day. Meet with client, and your day can range from personal care for client, meal prep, kitchen clean up, feeding any pets (if they have any) making bed, light laundy, walking with clients, or whatever is detailed in that clients plan of care. Sometimes we are just sitting with client's,  getting them water or assisting to the bathroom, assisting to activities, meals, etc.

The owners of this franchise are obviously very inexperienced with home healthcare and lack communication skills. If this franchise (Pinellas county) lasts three years under current ownership, I'd be shocked. Promise you the world at the initial interview, only to deliver nothing. The owners seem money-hungry and do not care about employee availability, and chastised me for putting them in a "bind" because I couldn't accept clients a month out. Just like any horribly run agency, the lazy workers will be promoted and given the best hours, while the workers who are dependable, organized, and professional, are driven out the revolving door. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the husband and wife owners. The best part of the job (aside from quitting time) was meeting clients who turned into friends and the maintenance of the connection after the swift exodus from this dead-end "job."

A caregiver daily written care plan established by the Care Managers. Hands on personal care meet all task assigned and considered by the care manager on Application.  Such as showering, toileting, meal preparation, companionships, errand and transportation.   medication reminders.  Learned to be mature, caring, punctual and reliable.  Must be physically, able to perform the duties of the position.  Management side must be able to understand clients care plan, implement it.  Report to manager or staff coordinator of any changes in care or client condition.  Follow Clearcare  telephony instructions, schedule shifts, update any task stills to Coordinator.  The culture is diverse and all friendly and easy going. Communication skills are a must.  There's nothing hard about working with these clients.  Just enjoy your clients(s) the job, be responsible and happy at the end of the day all work is completed.

I have to constantly BEG for more then 7- 10 hours a week,( wanting full time from the very beginning , heavy favoritism , there is ( most of the time no consideration from management how many hours we get ( do very little) , you basically need to be
“ GLUED” to your smart phone in order to get the hours - the policy is first come first get the shift, which equals to very stressful time , almost humiliation for literally begging for more hours , management cares only for getting the shift covert and all that treatment for caregiver who’s clients are constantly calling with massive complements how great I’ve been with them. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Rewarding job assisting the elderly and/or disabled with daily activities and life enriching events throughout the week and weekends. Company not very organized and has high employee turn around.  Will not take accountability for errors/delays in wages owed being released to the employee.

Lack of communication and late pay

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Getting group text messages, phone calls, and emails about potential assignments from 3 different offices and AI - responding to email or text message or phone call w/ yes or no to accept assignment - go to assignment and assist patient's for alloted time assigned

I was a bookkeeper for Homewell Senior care. I liked to be professional and keep a quiet environment when I am doing "on task" accounting. I would keep my door shut and I was tagged and "not being part of the team". I was backstabbed by staff members and accused of looking for other work and that was why they let me go. The back stabbing staff told the boss that I was looking for work, since I closed my screens when they entered the room. The day I was let go, I was working on my riding schedule and doing the final on filling my taxes. I had my resume on indeed because i was looking for other part-time work to accompany my full-time job. The owner would not hear a word I said because his "crownies" were too busy fill his head with b.s. Worse company ever! 
I listened to them backstab all their employees and that was part of why I closed the door. I was there to work and they were their to gossip and be horrible.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working in home health is the people who receive our services.  They are usually grateful for the help especially when they know they can trust you. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Since agency is under staffed, I was bombarded daily with texts and emails from scheduler informing us of available shifts. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There was no culture...you don't know your co-workers. No acknowledgement about a job well done, not even a  'happy holiday ' when appropriate. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Drive to the consumer's home, clock in and do what needs to be done i.e. cleaning,  cooking,  errands and providing companionship.
