Pros:
I've had a genuinely positive experience at IAT Insurance. What stands out most is the balance between professionalism and approachability. Leadership sets clear expectations but also trusts employees to own their work and make decisions. It's an environment where your expertise is valued, and you aren't micromanaged.
The people are a major strength of the organization. Across departments, I've found colleagues to be collaborative, knowledgeable, and willing to help without making it feel transactional. There's a strong sense that everyone is working toward the same goals rather than competing internally.
IAT also does a good job of recognizing that careers aren't one-size-fits-all. Whether you're looking to deepen your technical expertise or take on broader responsibilities, there are opportunities to grow if you're willing to put in the effort. I've seen employees build long-term careers here because the company invests in its people and promotes from within when possible.
Another positive is that the company embraces change thoughtfully. New initiatives and process improvements aren't implemented just for the sake of change—they're usually tied to a clear business objective and employee feedback is often considered along the way.
Cons:
As with any growing organization, priorities can shift and some processes are still evolving. Occasionally that can create ambiguity, but leadership is generally transparent and receptive to feedback.
Advice to Management:
Continue investing in employee development and cross-functional collaboration. The culture and quality of people are competitive advantages worth protecting as the company continues to grow.

A typical day at IAT is wondering if you'll have a job by the end of the day. My experience started out promising but by the time my position ended I had worked for 5 managers in a short period of time to which the managers were overwhelmed and always directed you to someone else. I doubt that some of them could work in my position if they were required to do so. There is no training on the software. I was hired and immediately sat down at a desk in which I learned the system on my on. I was working on 2 different system to which the primary system is severely outdated. You were not provided with the tools to succeed. There were so many upper management employees that were hired who would not take the time to introduce themselves to which it was never really known what they did. Management will play favoritism among employees and if you're older they'll be much harder on you. Employees would openly talk and brag about their salaries on the work floor. 1st year employees were paid higher then some employees who had tenure in the same position. The HR representatives aren't much help and carry themselves with a high degree of arrogance just like the managers. Little do they know that everyone is looking for other career opportunities. I wouldn't recommend IAT to anyone who is seeking employment.

IAT Insurance Group is unlike any company I have worked for before. I work in a very collaborative and encouraging atmosphere where there is a clear opportunity for growth. I hear constructive feedback from my manager and colleagues regarding my performance on a regular basis - and the best part - I am genuinely happy when I come to work. There's a lot to do, but that's because IAT is a company on the rise. We're growing rapidly and there are so many opportunities for employees - it's a very exciting time to be at IAT.

Not to mention the generous PTO, the 401K 7% company match, multiple bonus opportunities, etc. The list goes on and on. I am very fortunate to be apart of the IAT family and I look forward to my future with the company!

I have been in my position for 3 years.  In that time, the company has undergone MASSIVE change, from claims leadership at ALL levels, to process and workflow changes.  Through it all, I feel that the company has moved forward rather than backward.  Times have been difficult -- but our new CCO has been great about keeping us updated on the "plan" and bringing in people who really do seem to have employees' interest and welfare at heart when making decisions.

Training for the unique coverage exposures is still virtually nonexistent.  Still a pretty "sink or swim" environment for new claim employees.

I love upper management, but direct line management still leaves something to be desired.  Until something is changed, it appears that unless you are "chosen" or "in" you dont get any opportunities that you dont create or fight for yourself.

I transitioned to IAT from another commercial auto carrier.  The transition to IAT has been easy and managed well by management and learning & development folks.  My short tenure here at IAT so far has been nothing short of amazing!  I had heard great things before coming here about the culture and work environment but was slight skeptical as I felt it was "too good to be true".  I am truly blessed to have found such a great company, great culture and work environment.  Claims can be trying at times, but I feel supported and have the necessary resources to do my job on a daily basis.  Kudos to all involved at this organization for making it such a great place to work!

This is a dynamic company with lots of changes and likes to move fast. So, you have to be nimble and adaptable to like working here.

There was a great deal of underhanded  backstabbing from management.  Did everything possible to spin things in a way that made you look bad and then look good. Very clicky.

From my perspective it was horrible. There were many time my direct manager tried to make me look incompetent to my team.

IAT has a great company culture and has always helped me in my career. I started as an Intern and 2019 and they have helped me return as a full-time employee and shift positions as  my interests have changed. I enjoy my coworkers and the overall environment has been great to work in. The company helps me pay off my student loans, which is very helpful and encourages me to pursue certifications that align with my interests. My coworkers keep me in this position as well as the rewarding work. It is a great fit for me!

This is a great organization that lives up to its slogan of being a Family of Answers. Leadership, from the top down, is committed to its people; its people are in turn committed to customers and distribution partners. There is great work-life balance, especially through the pandemic. I would say everyone feels safe to be able to care for family and home schooling during the pandemic as a result of management support. Benefits are great - very competitive wages, good insurance, great 401k, and more. Leadership supports employees' growth. It's a great place to work.
