There is simply too much to do. Expectations are ridiculous and show that management is completely out of touch with the front line. Front desk staff are expected to be proficient in primary care,  urgent care, dental, and billing. If you're a scheduler, You're expected to do all four of those things at the front desk while somehow finding time to answer patient calls five hours per day. This isn't possible, these clinics are insanely busy, but you're still held to these standards. You are also expected to travel over an hour each way to understaffed clinics in order to make up staffing shortages, which is dangerous in winter and expensive all year long. Basic clerical staff are expected to perform managerial-level duties on an entry level salary ($16 per hour, which is a full $5/hr less than the local fast food restaurants). If you have absences for any reason, they will use it as an excuse to not give you step raises. The benefits are also insanely expensive with staggering deductibles. You do get free walk in care as an employee, but if you need surgery, specialty, even something basic like pediatrics or gynecology, you're out of luck. 

KVHC's mission is noble and its services are desperately needed, but the amount of work you're expected to do combined with the insulting pay rate and ghastly health benefits (the premium for a family is $1800 per month, and you're still stuck with a $6k deductible) makes it not worthwhile for clerical and admin staff.

Run, don't walk - away! This company will make promises to initially retain you that they have zero intention of upholding. The motto, "KVHC C.A.R.E.S" is the farthest thing from the truth. Upper management does not have the medical knowledge to run a facility that offers great care, nor do they have the heart to offer it. The facility has a "factory" and "profit" mindset. In general, the facility is known for its poor patient care and unethical treatment of employees and patients alike. Medical providers are not viewed as valuable assets to the practice or consulted and involved in decision-making. I suspect the Board has zero awareness of the things that the CEO is doing and why the facility cannot retain employees. There is constant turnover and it common for prior employees to claim that they have "ptsd or depression from working there."  If you want any semblance of a home-life, DO.NOT.WORK.HERE. You will spend many hours outside of your negotiated salary charting and attempting to "catch up" - an unreachable goal. Your PTO and vacation time will not truly be time off. If you value your license, your patients, your career, your family, or yourself - run as fast as you can from this toxic establishment. Protect your love for your career and your life and get as far away from this facility as you can. 

KVHC is a company with highly skilled and driven employees, capable and willing to work themselves to the bone for their communities. It is also a company with a CEO that only cares about having better numbers than the "competition" and making as much money as possible... for herself. Employees are overworked, underappreciated, and driven to leave by an extremely toxic work environment where spying and tattling like six-year-olds is encouraged and often rewarded. It's never about what's being done well, it's always about what small rules you're not following that changed secretly in a meeting 3 months ago you were never told about. Management is in meeting after meeting 90 percent of each day, and half of them are more interested in getting you "in trouble" with the CEO than actually doing their job. It's a real shame to see all the talented people driven crazy and eventually leaving. There's a good reason why less than half the staff have been there less than 5 years!

The coworkers that I had became some of my best friends. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of management, communication, unrealistic expectations. Upper management could have cared less about your stress and work load. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was toxic. The culture should be exceptional patient care but they care more about making money. The CEO hired people that are not qualified for jobs so that if anything comes back on anyone, it comes back on those people who were not educated properly. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, unrealistic expectations, walking on egg shells.

3 day work week as  a part time employee.Learned EHR.Co workers fine.Management  are  strictly business and  no medical background and insight.The general feeling was  we are asked for suggestions to improve the workplace but  it is only what they want done goes so after a while you end up just shutting up as  it does not  go anywhere.There could have been more proactive approach to  issues instead  of being reactive.And out of the blue without much warning to a lot of staff ,medical or otherwise ,they have to downsize because of financial fragility.The patients and  interactions with them were a joy.On the whole still a rewarding experience  and the job was not hard at all

Poor work/life balance, expected to spend hours above 40/week to chart at home as a salaried employee but also expected to use your accrued time  if you need to leave even 30 min early for preplanned or unexpected issues. Leaves one feeling nickel and dimed.  Life outside of work doesn’t matter to them, expected to stay late to see patients that show up far past a typical grace period.  Not allowed to use time off during a notice- despite the fact that providers are expected to provide 6 months, making burnout a guarantee.  Rules applied differently depending on who you are and it’s obvious.   Turnover high amongst providers.   Would not recommend working here.

Toxic, undertrained people training new people.  Poor management with little experience running departments.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Helping patients with no local resources and no additional resources available from KVHC.  Mostly doing things for patients they are not willing to do themselves

KVHC is as a place of employment is less than satisfactory. The compensation for the required work is not equal. They offer the front desk people just a whisker over minimum wage and then pile expectation after expectation on them. Their PTO/Vacation policy is two weeks, of which the time accrues, so you don't have any time for at least 6 months. The benefits are not great either health insurance is 80/20 with an astronomical deductible.

Typical day-lofty expectations.  Forget about working 50 hours and then wanting to leave early on a nice day-you need to use PTO.  The CEO and upper mgt promises good things and support, but then will stab you in the back.  They dont breed loyalty.  You will walk around on egg shells all day long trying not to screw up.  They find secret ways to ding employees and withhold bonuses.  Borderline illegal.  

Patients are numbers and you will make  your quota

Truly  helping  a community  that needed it 
Going  home  on time  which was rare  if you  are not management.
