Managers including the CEO are micromanagers giving no autonomy and room for growth. Only want yes men. My department has clinical oversight but report up to a operations executive. For compliance purposes they make it appear that we report to a clinical person but we don't and she is not appropriate to oversee clinical departments. Culture is toxic in some areas and there is a lot of heresy and gossip. The only bad thing is giving up your government retirement if you leave. If you are friends of a board member or leadership you're in.

KHS is a very stable company to work for.  They provide excellent benefits and are slowly bringing compensation levels to be at/near similar market levels.  They stay up on technology.  They still need to improve communication at all levels of management and decrease favoritism.  Work load is extremely demanding on employees, very quick growth and moving ahead to make changes across the board.  It is hard to balance the stress level (work/life balance) at KHS.

Great place, co-workers, managers, good training, learned a lot! I am a critical care RN and a director so was decrease in pay and very slow all-day-sitting environment staring at a monitor. I was doing UM but I missed critical care pediatric work. Company culture was great. Manager support was also very good. Company actually cares about employees. Highly recommend.

ADMINISTRATION AND FAVORTISM. ONCE YOU GO TO HUMAN RESOURCES THEY TARGET YOU AND THEN YOU GET REORGANIZED

Member Services is the worst department to work for. You get paid the least and work the hardest. Other departments are lazy and get paid more. When other departments don't meet their goals they add more work to member services. Its terrible. We have to ask members so many questions and they get so upset. Its too much. 

This company does vital work for the poor and underserved in the greater Bakersfield Community. Work is important and challenging, and stressful at times, but there is fantastic balance and recognition. Good management ALWAYS makes the difference.

Great place to work and great company. They really do care about their employees and their happiness. They are always finding ways to involve their employees. Multiple clubs and social groups employees can join such as a book club and garden club. 

If I could go back I would in a heart beat. Unfortunately I had to relocate and leave my job behind but I loved my job, the pay, the benefits, management, the co workers everything! Everyone is very friendly and very helpful. Management is very sweet and understanding. Open door policy makes everything better.

Toxic management, micromanaging on the IT/MIS side.  Very Political. Highly inefficient processes. Management does not value input.
Unhappy MIS staff.

They preach work, live balance - Not on the MIS side! Required to work weekends on projects at the end of the year that were improperly planned.

I had a great manager, which always make the difference. I found all of the management at the top and second level to be highly talented ad great to work with. Their direct reports loved working for them.
