CEO seems to care more about profit over employees. Management is stretched beyond belief and structural changes are made constantly, and it can be hard to keep up. They say the best way to lose a good employee is to continue to tolerate a bad one. My location allowed for a workplace bully to continue to create a toxic atmosphere without any punishment (gossiping, intimidating new employees, not following provider's directions/gossiping about providers). 

The providers themselves are kind and extremely caring and genuinely care about you and your wellbeing as their MA. They take time to address patients holistically and compassionately and  their patients love them for it. That being said, you are expected to multitask and be stretched to your fullest scope. Very rewarding to work with awesome people (for the most part) and you learn a lot. Training is mostly virtual/DIY--don't expect any elbow-to-elbow training. 

Be prepared to draw blood after the patient's visit and perform most of the lab tests in house. They ask a lot from their MA's and the burnout rate can be quite high. If you're up for the challenge, it's worth it if you can keep your head up and not tolerate the workplace drama. So far, it's been my best experience as an MA nonetheless. 


What is the best part of working at the company?
the clinical staff are amazing and work  very hard to deliver amazing patient care. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant struggle between operations trying to over-ride and run a clinic, when a lot of decisions should be left to medical decision makers.  Management is very tight knit, gossipers, and do not take criticism or suggestions well. Chronic short staff of medical assistants, sometimes none at all at a clinic. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Do not question, smile and be happy.  If you question, or correct errors that have been made publicly there is retaliation, and you are talked about.  Not a professional operations leadership team.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wonder if there will be full clinical support staff--try and serve patients as best you can even when short staffed.

Ever since I started working at Kinwell, everyone in my personal life noticed a huge improvement in my mood and attitude. I like to think this is because of the amazing new environment I am in now. Great pay and benefits, very competitive to the other local facilities in town. I got an immediate 20% increase in pay, and I pay significantly less for insurance for me and my husband. Management encourages a healthy work-life balance, INCLUDING always taking your hour lunches; which may seem like a small thing but at my old job, I could never get away from my desk even for a quick snack. The best thing is the new approach to primary care and how we treat patients. I am really enjoying assisting our patients take a more holistic approach to their health, instead of treating them like numbers to count and metrics to beat. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I had some great and supportive coworkers who poured into me and helped me grow in my career. Was part of building great clinical teams and launching Kinwell.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Building the plane as it was flying! It was a GTM and with the original C suite team often at odds during meetings.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture was still being built when I left. I would say the environment was very in line with our competition in the Primary Care space.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I was able to work where and when needed. No micromanaging. I felt that I was hired for the skillset I had and truly had a seat at the table.

Kinwell is a fantastic group of people providing primary care to ensure the health of its patients.  The company truly cares about creating a holistic and empowering environment for patients to live their best lives.  The motto is "simply caring" and I see that every day.  The company is growing quickly, so there are still things to develop and learn.  I think that they are on the right track and have an excellent opportunity to make a difference in primary care.  

Very unhealthy work environment. Does not allow growth for experienced staff. Does not allow opinions outside of what is felt to be standard. Does not allow seasoned, hard working employees to be listened to when having concerns. Mostly concerned with its own outlook vs the needs of staff . Staff is under paid, under appreciated and extremely overworked. Policies are changed almost weekly without disclosing these changes straight away. Often times policies are rolled out to certain clinics and not all clinics.

Kinwell is a start up Health Care with the focus on quality care for its patients and employees. State of the art medical equipment and gorgeous clinics. Coworkers and managers have all been positive, friendly , ambitious and motivated to bring next level care. Pay and benefits are fantastic. Your voice is heard when you have ideas. Upper management involved and thoughtful.  

Having worked at a not so great medical clinic before this, it was a breath of fresh air to start here. The two-three coworkers I work with are great people. Management is amazing. As with any start up there are policies which need to be solidified and workflows that get tacked on but overall this is a great company to work for. 

Management can't be trusted. Employees aren't given necessary equipment to do their job. A lot of back stabbing and very hostile work environment.  No chance for advancement unless you are manager on west side of state. Have a difficult time retaining workers, including doctors; most are locums and only stay a few months.

New company with a cool work environment it all depends on which office you work at not all offices are the same but the one I’m at is cool and staff are super chill, the work is what you would expect working in a doctors office no hidden tasks or agendas
