Although you are encouraged to leave work on time, the amount of work required to get done in a week is impossible with a 40 hour work week. Also, there is a great deal of negative reinforcement for the work that is done even if you stay after hours to complete the amount of work required. For therapists in general, the duties and concerns of other departments were often shifted to them because they were salaried instead of hourly and this led to additional stress on the therapist. I believe this to be true of the nurses as well. Despite all of the negativity from managment, or perhaps because of it, the staff were all very supportive of one another. The benefits are great but the amount of work and the number of hours required to complete the work as well as the negative reinforcement from management make this a difficult atmosphere in which to work.

Full time comes with PTO and sick time that accumulates every pay period, as well as college reimbursement contingent on a B average in classes related to the health care industry. All the staff are extremely friendly and inviting. They have 2 campuses an Adolescent and an Adult unit. The staff at both were very welcoming. The hardest part of the job for me was the hours. Housekeeping starts at 5/6 am, I did not enjoy that. The funnest part of the job were the Christmas party and the staff appreciation week. Management and HR are very easy to talk to, honestly all the people working there were just wonderful. I miss the people most, I don't miss the 5am clock in time.

Being a small organization there is little room for internal advancement but it is part of larger company. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to facilitate improvements in systems and processes which have become outdated and inefficient with the changing pace of healthcare. Co-workers are pleasant and good team members for the most part. The hardest part of the job is being able to carry out high level duties while often needing to step in and assist with front line nursing work.

Management is not really the best. It’s a great entry level for the field however, not really the best for the long run. Feel as if management doesn’t value their techs. No room for growth. Work place culture is not the best since not all techs are and nurses are not treated equally. Company tends to choose their favorites. But the  most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that you are helping individuals and working with amazing techs who happen to get treated unfairly. Workplace is constantly understaff.

The job itself had potential and the team was generally supportive, but the lack of proper training and onboarding made it difficult to succeed. Employees were often expected to learn tasks on their own with limited guidance, which created unnecessary stress and confusion.

This job was a dream for a student whom had just graduated from college. I love what I do here. Working with adolescents has been such a challenging task but the team that’s actually on the floor give the best support and are always there willing to help. The down side is I truly work so much it’s hard to have a life outside of this place. The understaffing is such an issue that I am working the job of about 4 people. The pay is also an issue. I feel like I’m not getting paid enough for all that I do.

Lack of communication and experience. Their staff have no experience at all.

Lack of experience and communication. They need more training. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No communication at all . No support from management . 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long hrs , never have enough staff to cover shift and you end up working for days .

This was by far the worst job I ever had. They cut staff making the floor unsafe for workers and patients. The higher ups treat the low level workers such as Mental Health Techs terrible with constant cases of belittling. The lack of training for emergency situations causes the workers to not know what to do when a patient elopes or gets violent. 

This place will schedule you a lot of shifts one month and give you two shifts the next month. Inconsistent hours, low pay, and extremely hard to advance unless you work for YEARS. They are inconsiderate of your time and will often have you stay longer than scheduled or constantly ask you to come in earlier. Usually understaffed. 

I really enjoyed working on the adolescent unit of La Amistad. Every staff member and supervisor was very knowledgeable and always open to answering any questions I had during my first few months there. I learned a lot in a short period of time, gained a lot of experience in my field.
