If you are looking for a call center type of job.. Then this job is for you. 

The job is pretty easy once you get your own caseload and get the hang of it. It gets easier once you get to know your clients and their needs. It’s a rewarding feeling to know your making your clients happy. 

NOW THE DOWN SIDE!  

Company is family owned and owners do not value their employees. Management is ridiculous, they promote employees who are incompetent. The coordination department is always under staffed and over worked. There is no team work with other coordinators. Unless you can make a friend and back them up then you might be lucky. If you get really good at your job be ready to fix other coordinators mistakes (happens frequently) They have very bad medical benefits and PTO doesn’t always get approved. Why… because department is always under staffed. Once they are fully staffed they pull employees into other departments and once again the department is short staffed. Training is good but make sure you take a lot of notes and ASK QUESTIONS. Phones ring non-stop and you answer calls for the RVG, Corpus Christi Beeville and San Antonio (calls roll over if one branch does not answer their phones)  Coordinators answer all the incoming calls to all the departments. Also be ready to be told off due to someone else’s mistake (again it will happen frequently)!  The pay rate is not enough for the stress you are placed under. 

As the owner's personal assistant.  This job began in Marketing,
I would receive 1,000.00 in bonus every month. 
My title was at that time Physician Liaison.  Travel to designated location to create a business relationship with Doctors, Home Retirement, and Hospitals. Show demonstration of how our Home Health Agency works and what we had to offer.

As Manager over nurses and department.  This job consist of keeping track of nurses, PT, OT, and other medical teams in order.
Ordering all medical supplies and office as well,

New employees were set up with cell, car, all medical supplies and equipment need for new comers to begin immediately without any hassle. 

Medical Records. This job was to make sure the all medical employees had the proper assessment forms filled out correctly.
Filed patient files in accordance with the Home Health accordance laws in the state of Texas.

Stressful. Management needs to communicate better with employees and offer full disclosure. Training is offered by experienced staff which is very helpful. Team work is necessary but not always a factor as the pressure to complete work makes it an all for one type atmosphere. The job description is not what is presented as you are told one thing but expected to perform the job duties of other capable departments. You are being hired as a coordinator for patients not a call center as you will be answering phones for all the departments and expected to follow through with each incoming call as well as complete the required daily paperwork for your assigned caseload. However, if at the end of the day you are able to assist a client in placing a suitable and capable provider that will attend to their needs then you have accomplished something special and that is what you are there for despite the onslaught of incoming calls.

A typical day at work here consists of getting the run around.  One person says this and another says that.  The employees that have been there long are rude and give you attitude.  Management? What management, there is no one to ask when you need something, and when you do they do no know the answer.  The hardest part of the job was having to work late and getting the run around.  Rules change everyday and you are not notified.  Also, they do not pay on time! They will change from direct deposit to mail out to picking up your check in the office without notifying you, and sometimes will not have your check when it is time to get paid.  If management was easier to contact, if the checks were handed out the way they were supposed to, and the employees that have worked there long would change their attitudes then it would have potential as a company.

Starting off with the company may seem exciting. You complete on boarding and after that you just "shadow" and sit next to someone. I overhear that they are constantly changing so mean that's their company is always failing. The team moral is very low due to the changes and complaints about how upper management is always making changes when they like. Like how is a company gonna show results if they are just changing all the time. There are some managers however that do help out and make it easier to stay. Therefore, if you are looking for a place where you can feel valued, heard and recognized...THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Just my honest opinion and just saving you all from the headache. xoxo -unvalued former employee....

Management holds a title pretty much they could never resolve any issues. Owners act as if they are god and are very unappreciated with the staff it is ruled by family politics and constant changes that the staff is not made aware, Micro manage you and just a negative work environment  pay was great but they don't know how to value great employees. To many chiefs not enough Indians  always had payroll issues and never received a correct check always errors. Comapany makes you work for 2 other sister companies so your always overworked.

Don't do it if you cant work on your own or can't be trusted. Don't do it if you're looking for "a little job until you find something better". Don't do it if you are not a self starter and cant manage your time. Don't do it if you cant take initiative or ask for help when you need it. Don't do it if you cant take care of all pts regardless of race, or who/what they believe in. Don't do it if you expect to make alotta money. 
If you like working on your own. If you like being trusted. If you like people. If you like nursing. If you like using all your skills, intuition and learning on the fly. Do it.

Discriminatory practices, does not like to hire individuals with disabilities. Offers the lowest possible pay while they expect the majority of their employees to perform dual job roles. HR Director is openly hostile to both existing employees and prospective candidates. Your personal health information is not safe because HR will send screenshots of everything to upper management. You will be treated with obvious disdain if you dare to question their practices or stand up for yourself. Constant changes in job duties and structure. Any suggestions or requests to improve processes are ignored. 

A typical day at work was greeting my person, making sure they had some breakfast/ lunch. . Helped them bath if they needed me too. Started laundry if needed and the daily cleaning. Took them to doctors appointments or the store. I was there to talk with the home health nurse if needed. I would talk read or play cards with my person.I know being stuck at home and being unable to do things for yourself is very frustrating and can even make some very sad. I enjoyed being able to help them and do the basics and some extras to make their lives easier.

All locations are different, McAllen location was good with team/management leadership. Starting pay is very poor in all locations, how do you expect to live off of $13hr, they never valued their employees and it was hard to get a raise, even if you have a degree. You only have security if you are family. Owner will courage management to write up employees, attack their personality to make them quit. If you have any concerns/complaints they dont listen especially if its against their family that work there. San Antonio location is a very toxic environment.
