Generally pretty easy when you first look at your tasks (Lending/ collecting). Everything when you start will be pretty straightforward book loans (25 per month minimum) and collect on the people who don’t pay. This a subprime lender so expect people with fair-poor credit to apply, meaning you will be doing A LOT of collection calls. This will lead to very long hours which are mandatory, expect to work mandatory Saturdays as well. They will tell you Saturdays are few and far between but that is false. Collecting will likely be the most difficult aspect of the job as tools for collecting are limited and the entire system is extremely outdated (still using systems from the 90’s). Due to the difficulty of collecting you will have a terrible work-life balance as you will have to spend more and more time in the office desperately trying to hit your monthly quotas. The company does offer generous bonuses and you will have every federal holiday off. The bonus is also structured around collections so don’t expect a bonus every time there is one available. Office management will be very good but watch out for upper management as they will likely set unrealistic goals for you to achieve every month.  The best part of the job is probably being able to help so many people who are going to financial difficulties or don’t have the best credit due to things beyond their control get some sort of money in their pocket for whatever they may need. You can also earn free lunch quite often for just doing your job so that’s something to look forward to.  They offer very good benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401k etc. You also get a very good amount of PTO. You also get hour long lunch breaks which is great. This job has its upsides and it’s downsides, this will be a very high stress job and the company will do absolutely nothing about it so take that into strong consideration. This is not going to be the worst job of your life, depending on your management and upper management you might have a decent experience. (Stay away from Florida upper management if at all possible) 

Lendmark isn’t a terrible place to work, and the company itself seems vested in the success of its employees. Office politics are omnipotent and some employees are held to a different standard than others: the company does not separate the wheat from the chaff.

The compensation is ok for the most part and the benefits aren’t terrible. The 401k match is generous but you need to be fully vested for two years before you can take a loan or withdrawal from the retirement account. When it comes to a compensation increase or a promotion, get EVERYTHING in writing or you’ll be promised the world and receive nothing but disappointment.

Management is fine contingent upon the individual. Upper management is fair and genuinely listens to their subordinates. Any criticism or issue I had was handled confidentially and professionally.

The clients are a different breed altogether. There are a handful of “good” customers that fulfill their obligations by paying on time and in full. Unfortunately, as is the case with subprime lending in general, you will mostly deal with the irresponsible and less-than-industrious sorts. Getting these accounts to pay their bill is neigh impossible and speaking with many of them is futile. Too many people like to take the money and run, only to hide behind fly-by-night “litigators” or “law groups”, otherwise known as debt settlement schemes.

Working with third-party vendors is tenuous at best. The company engages with way too many “questionable” merchants and vendors that paint the company in a negative light by association. Many car dealerships are of the “here today gone tomorrow” variety.

If you enter into an employment arrangement with Lendmark, temper your expectations. For every client that truly needs and appreciates your help, there are infinitely more irresponsible borrowers gaming the system. While I feel the compensation can be improved, the overall quality of life afforded by Lendmark is immeasurable and having federal (or “bank”) holidays off is wonderful.

Your first clue that you should probably think about working here carefully is that they called themselves a Family. They offer a very generous time off package, but you will be told by multiple managers that just because they offer the time doesn’t mean you should take the time. They will be watching the time you take, as I was told by my manager and my AVP.  You will spend most of your time calling past due accounts and the system only tracks how many accounts you have “touched” but you will call cell, home, work, references so at the end of the day you’ve probably made 500 phone calls. On top of the phone calls you’re expected to make, you are also to make at least two loans a day and then other work and training.  You’ll also occasionally attend  calls that  are just a waste of time . Most of the meetings there could just be an email. If you don’t do all of those things in the time that you’re assigned to do those things, you will be expected to work overtime. Even if you have done your complete job, but there is debt accounts that haven’t paid, you will sit in the office until you’re allowed to leave because the debt hasn’t been collected properly. This is an end of the month thing, but you will also work weekly overtime as well.
If you’re applying for management you’d probably like it because they do everything they can to protect managers but all the managers I’ve ever worked with were also completely spineless and would do anything upper management told them to do. If you’re wanting to be a manager know that you will probably be expecting to work 10 hours days.  
 90-100 percent of this job could be done remotely, but Lendmark is not changing with the times. Most of the employees you work with are generally nice and the management is nice too as long as you’re willing to commit your life to that company. Food is the standard reward and there a frequent lunch contests to win a lunch reimbursement.  
They pay well though.  

Lendmark is overall a decent company to work for. Lots of paid time off and very accommodating of your personal life. Pay is okay. If you have a good manager you will love the job. However, most offices do not have good managers. They are honestly incompetent. Most of them only got their jobs because they are in cahoots with upper management. Most of the branches in my area are in the red and it is a direct reflection of the branch managers. They have no clue on how to run an office and are very shady. Luckily I had a good manager.

Very repetitive! Everyday you come in and check internet apps and work existing credit applications, make collection calls when the payment is two days past due, take walk in/mail in payments, and close loans. You have to be tough to do well in this company. Can't take no for an answer when it comes to collecting payments. Most of the customers are nice but there is a good percent that are absolutely disgusting! They will curse you out and hang the phone up on you for just doing your job. Cannot take the job personal or you won't be happy working here. On the last day of the month you are REQUIRED to stay until 9pm calling customers over and over again to get payments. That's annoying. The computer systems are dinosaurs. They freeze up all the time and the comapny switched to a new system that's even worse.

Lots of perks like discounts on tickets and vacations. Quarterly Bonuses if you are in a good branch. The comapny sends you a holiday honey baked ham every Christmas which is kind of cool. Different office events for the holiday. Relaxed business casual attire is a plus. Can make your desk feel at home. The health insurance SUCKS so avoid going to doctors. And sometimes you get free lunches.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My experience at this company was disappointing due to poor leadership and lack of accountability. There were repeated instances of unprofessional and inappropriate behavior from management that created an uncomfortable work environment. Concerns were raised, but the company failed to take meaningful action or support employees.

A workplace should prioritize professionalism and respect, and unfortunately that was not reflected here. Significant improvements in leadership standards and how employee concerns are handled are needed.

The most stressful part of working at this company was inconsistent and unprofessional management. Leadership behavior was often unpredictable, which created a tense and uncomfortable work environment. Communication and expectations frequently changed without warning, making it difficult for employees to succeed or feel supported.

The culture made it difficult to feel respected or valued, and morale was consistently low. Significant changes in leadership, communication, and workplace standards would be necessary for this company to become a healthy environment for employees.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day in this role involved processing loan applications, completing collection calls, handling customer accounts, and conducting solicitation efforts.

My time at Lendmark was stressful & disappointing.  Training was non-existent for me, and I was thrown into the job with minimal help.  Thank goodness I had a background of finance & management, or I would not have survived.  Work/life balance was horrible.  We would have to work late nights without prior notification.  This made it difficult to arrange childcare or have a personal life.  You were only ever as good as your last day.  It didn't matter if you'd done 20 loans in 15 days or 30 loans!  If you had one off day, you were questioned about it and made to feel like you were worth nothing.  I was hired on with promises of being promoted to branch manager.  This turned out to be lies only to get me to do the managers job and not get paid for it or the recognition I deserved.  I was used.  This was not only me, but happened to many other people who were hired on to be assistants (we had more than one assistant in the office at the same time).  I chose to leave this job because I felt like I was waiting on something that was never going to happen.  People here are sneaky, and "cliques" are everywhere.  The company finds every way possible to get out of paying you for bonuses.  I'd had a grandparent pass and caught the flu back to back, and they refused to pay me a bonus due to days missed in that quarter.  Upper management acts as if they care about the employees and everything they say sounds good.  Either they are lying, or have no idea how the lower management is actually managing.

A typical day starts with making calls and making appointments for loan signings. You're doing loans throughout the day if you're lucky. The training at first is great until you're 2+months in and then the hands on training is not good. Management is annoyed that you ask questions and they're very rude and belittle you in front of customers and your coworkers. I have seen several people from my area leave the company and in othe locations and I was just a few months in.

Any work you do is never enough. You're pressed and micromanaged to get more and more and more loans. The only good thing about this company is the customers. They're what help me get through the day. Don't ignore the employee reviews on indeed and the customer reviews on Google! Do your research. It's not worth it unless you're ok working long hours and weekends and being treated like anything you do is not enough. They don't tell you this on the interview btw. Working more than one Saturday a month and working 12 hour days sometimes! It's mandatory . They don't tell you during the interview because nobody would accept to work here. I sure wouldn't have and stayed at my prior job. The management doesn't treat everyone fairly. Apply at your own risk. Can't wait to leave this company with bad management! Don't apply if you have a family! If you have a good branch manager, then your experience may be different!

17.5 years of loyal dedication will get you nowhere. There is no work life balance. Late nights and Saturdays are expected constantly even if you meet your goals. Saturdays be prepared to spend 9-2. They don’t care if you have children and expect you to work in hostile conditions from upper management. Workloads are increasing daily and goals in small market areas are unobtainable. If you express concerns be prepared for immediate retaliation and punishments. Management send inappropriate emails making fun of the elderly and disabled. Will send threatening emails and will then brag about how their “Hammie’s” hurt after a workout (absolutely not work related nor appropriate ). Used to be a great place to work but now that the new generation of young management is overtaking the corporate positions the culture has changed and there are no morals. They do not care about the customer and will push you to drive your customers deeper and deeper until your customers cannot survive. As long as they are turning profit they do not care. They will have you push to develop outside business relationships and then will sever them at the drop of a hat leaving you stuck uncomfortably in the middle trying to pickup the pieces. Do not be fooled by the job posting. Just this week we lost 3 employees in one branch with a combined 50+ years of experience 

Started out with a new branch - loved it, got to learn as business came in. Later, the more you accel is not necessarily the more you'll get paid. If you can perform in a higher ranking duty you'll be asked to do it, no increase in pay while you're waiting on a replacement (unfortunately, you're not considered bc your loan numbers are "too low" regardless that your loan numbers were highest in the recent past or that you're the best cold call marketer - according to corporate who never see you?!). You'll may be asked to work a Saturday to close a loan (that someone else gets credit for) and get paid your hourly wage for that hour - redundant bc now you've spent time & gas to just get there, but you love what you do!  The last half of the month is all about numbers, collections and some late evenings (never past 7) and maybe a half day on a Saturday. The good thing is that if you are assertive to strive and learn you will always have the experience to work for other types of entities (banks, dealerships, etc).  If you get lucky and get in a good branch where you'll have opportunity then you've scored! Just remember to glance at those desks during the interview. Happy employee's leave clear signs.

Lets start with the bad news, the annual raise doesnt meet inflation, (it was below 3%)certain benefits were taken like employer HSA contributions, and HSA bonuses, insurance premiums went up on health and deductible also went up quite a bit and hardly covers much. If you apply to other positions internally they could lead you on longer than needed. They discourage employees discusing wage. No opportunity to work part time. 

Good news, there is a gym benefit, The PTO is pretty good with sick and vacation, volunteering, and involvement in education, managers are kind, 401k matching after 1 year is a good benefit. Quarterly bonuses are good though they have tightened the opportunity to earn as much as last year so they are smaller now. Still a bonus though. The company has a college reimbursement program after 1 year of employment if your course plan is beneficial to the company example would be getting a business or finance degree. Dental coverage is good if you get the buy up plan. If you don't have a degree you can still become a manager, which is rare in this industry. 

Conclusion, I like working here, its relaxed, good to build up a resume, pay is decent but could be better. Work life ballance is great with PTO. Chances of moving up are small but possible, they offer opportunities for people without degrees to move up into manager positions.
