A typical day is about 9-10 hours. It begins with checking in with the Charge Nurses on the unit for any changes or issues with the residents or staff followed by rounding.  There is a daily management stand up meeting I attend where all managers go over what is going on in their areas for the day.  Once back on the floor, there are family meeting to attend, care plan meetings, Medicare Meetings, QA, WWF, Psyc meetings and and a daily clinical meeting with the DON  at I pm to go over the 24 hour report.  Prior to this meeting, I must check the previous 24 hour nursing documentation as well as respiratory.  I check labs, e-medicals sent to the physicians, new MD orders, BM's, crash cart, assignment board for staff, assignment sheets and investigate and take care of any issues that are outstanding.  I also do all the Care plans, check new admission charts, check all patient charts weekly and am  a resource person for the residents, families, other members of  the management team and staff.  I am responsible for the GNA's, Nurses and Respiratory Therapists on my unit.  I have learned new computer programs, and learned more about ventilators.  The hardest part of my job is doing terminal weanings from the vents.  The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the residents improve and thrive in our setting and go home or have a good quality of life while in our care.   I have a great team of staff on my unit and enjoy going to work everyday.

By far, Lorien is the worst company I've worked at in my life. The recruiter suggested me that there is a appropriate job for new grad, and there will be an opportunity to change full-time job to the client with career growth. Technically, he sugar-coated this job position, and wasted my time to grow my career. When I work here during weekday, I merely do physical laboring such as moving boxes and so on. There is no need technical skills I learned during my college life although this job required technical skills in my job offer. To be honest, I didn't learn anything from this company and its client company even though I desperately did my best to work hard based on their assignments. Of course, there is no management and leadership for this work, but disorganized  working process depending on the client's order. I don't strongly recommend this job for new college grads to grow their career since this job is underemployment for them.

Limited responsibility. Flexibility.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No sick pay, holiday pay, paid time off. Treated like a second class citizen by the company and the active contract company.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Constant mental duress. Stressful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working without clear tasks or proprietary training.

Decent benefits and reliable weekly pay as long as you’re assigned. However, if you lose your contract, even through no fault of your own (mine was outsourced before the duration agreed), then you’re SOL. The line at the bottom of your check that says “Once contract ends, you must tell your recruiter you’re available for work every week for unemployment pay” means absolutely nothing. 

Moral of the story, if you have multiple job offers— definitely go for the one that offers better job security.

Nice place to work if you keep your nose clean, management is awesome if you are awesome! I was part time so didn't have any benefits, but I would hear that like a lot of places health care was high, for the morality it's up to you, if your moral is up beat, you can lift some one else, the pay is good depending on experience,job position,and growing in the business , and there's lot's of overtime in all dept's. The hardest part of this job is not getting attached to a resident.

Very unorganized Nursing orientation  program with unprofessional, demeaning preceptors,  and Nursing Admin.   Medtechs, Aides, ancillary staff, even Residents were more supportive.

The place was toxic and it was ran by people who didn't care. Very cliquey. Boss didn't know maintenance but was friends with the director. Health and safety violations. If you report them then you end up in trouble. Sad really.

It was very bad because the culture wasn't very good and my coworkers and boss were very toxic. I could not get any help when it came to anything. I would not suggest working here.

it was a good experience it was trying at times the work was hard as far as always being short but over all it was pretty easy .management helped to provide a good experiene
