Training was thorough and helpful and the trainers were very kind. Higher management was surprisingly toxic and I left the job everyday feeling as if I could never do enough to make a difference at all. Expect to be talked down to and talked about in an unprofessional manner by those in higher management positions. In a specific instance, an employee from a different department had attempted to abuse their power and seniority for personal benefit and to avoid having to abide by normal protocol. Those with authority were not available when they were needed in order to resolve issues and I felt that my concerns were ignored. I didn't feel I would ever move up or fit in at the company, no matter how much time I spent as an above-and-beyond employee. There were a few standout, great employees in supervisor positions and otherwise at the company, but the overall culture was toxic and stressful. Many of the patients made the job feel worth it and were endearing. The amount of patients we were expected to accommodate on a daily basis was unreasonable and some patients were aware of this and made comments to front desk staff about it. Some of the doctors' behaviors leant heavily toward greed. Suffice it to say, employee turnover is high and most good employees that are hired leave soon after they begin employment.

This organization has a noble mission. However there were personalities in top management who run it like a small kingdom. There is no loyalty whatsoever. Good people and talented staff are throw away for what are trivial in fractions. The patients are actually a distraction away from generating quality measures which can be submitted up to Medicaid for reimbursement. Every single day, your numbers are posted for productivity. This is the metric, moving the patients through. A significant number of patients have no fluency in English whatsoever, and while there is a translation service available on telephone, this makes a 10 minute visit almost impossible. 
The chief executive officers, the senior management, I have seemingly lost track of patient care and are now chasing numbers. I have witnessed several heated discussions between the physicians, and the accountants, there’s never enough money coming in. There is never enough support staff, and getting proper equipment such as x-ray machinery is impossible.
You can work here if you want to, but it will break your heart. They do have a good pay package. It’s very difficult to get time off. You will also receive a lot of holiday time, and there’s no weekends, and No call. It’s sort of like a government bureaucracy. I don’t think I’ll ever go back there.

When I was first interviewed, I couldn't have been more excited to have been given this opportunity to work for this company.  They said all the right things, checked the right boxes, it all seemed amazing to me. Well, things did not live up to the hype. 

The job itself was fun, for the most part. The people at MCR, for the most part, are all great people. They are fun to work with, interact with, etc. The largest problem with this company is the buddy system with the management/bad employees. The few 10% of employees who are toxic and self absorbed people do not face any discipline from management and only make the good employees leave. I have seen countless people leave this place due to management not caring about toxic workplace conditions stemming from one or two people. 

There is so much nepotism here that it is a joke to say the least. So many unqualified people in positions of power just because they know the CEO or are friends with one of their friends. 

To me, MCR Health is a non profit organization who is more than happy to collect money from tax payers and waste it on anything and everything. If they did not cater to to the lower income people who have no choices, they would not have any sort of following.  

I had such high hopes for this company.  Although they advertise as "being part of a family", this is far from the truth.  As a mid-level provider, you are treated like an internal medicine physician, with an extremely complex population.   Highly complex patients with multiple uncontrolled chronic conditions, with only 10-15 minutes allowed for care, which is not enough time for adequate care for these types of patients.  No time allowed for charting or lab review, therefore breaks become non-existent.  Company is all about numbers.  Maybe they used to care about their staff and patients, but not the case from what I witnessed.  Very little teamwork or willingness to go the extra mile from supportive staff.  Or there is not enough staff.   Very little to no training or support from upper management.  High rate of turnover.  

My advice, find someplace else to work.  This company is a very depressing and stressful place to work, and not worth the pay.  No one seems happy; very negative environment.

They are CONSTANTLY adding work and new duties on the regular. The team leads are BEYOND MESSY! Training was HORRIBLE. You train the first day and the next day or two you’re on your own figuring it out . You “can’t wear any color hair” but yet ppl in different departments come in w colorful hair. If you mention it to them it’s pointless because they aren’t going to do anything about it. The nurses and other workers literally will go to your supervisor about anything ! ex: if they don’t like what you’re wearing, if you park in certain spots, if your hair is a certain way, if your wardrobe fits you a certain way, if they don’t like your mask etc. It’s a really childish immature environment. I felt like I was in high school again. You don’t get a raise at all and they have “mandatory meetings” AFTER your shift is complete which can last for hrs. The other offices don’t answer their phones when you call for assistance so you could be on the line with a patient for 20+ mins trying to reach a clinical staff. Your calls are timed and you are held responsible for every minute the patient is on the line. They can’t keep any employees because how they treat them. Mcr Health is far by the worse place to work. But good for experience / resume purposes

Working at MCR Health was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this job to anyone. There is a noticeable level of favoritism within the company, especially toward those who are family or friends with the Chief Nursing Officer. If you are not in that circle, it feels like you could be let go over the smallest things.

Despite working hard and often going above what was required, promises of raises were never fulfilled. Employees are expected to work more, but compensation does not reflect the extra workload. Communication is poor, and concerns brought to management are not taken seriously.

The management structure is also concerning. Some managers seem disengaged from their responsibilities—spending time chatting instead of leading. Other employees frequently fail to clock out for lunch or leave for appointments without issue, while others are expected to pick up the slack. It’s frustrating to see people on their phones all day while the workload falls on those who are actually trying to work.

Overall, my experience was extremely negative. If I could give this company zero stars, I would.

I was there since 2013 and had to leave. Although I love the IDEA of what they want to stand for unfortunately the actions do not match. The place is going downhill. The work environment is EXTREMELY stressful & you’re extremely overworked for little pay. Don’t expect raises. You don’t get them & if you want one you basically have to beg for it. Although the work sites have people that you can work with the upper management makes it very stressful as they push for providers to MEET NUMBERS. You have benefit options however they push for you to see their providers if you get the free basic insurance and with that being said they basically don’t want to give you the time off to even use your benefits so if you’re paying out of pocket for a more covered plan it’s a waste. They frown upon you taking days off & want you to do it on their time (when they approve & the sites are fully staffed-which is NEVER). Please please please do your research before taking a job. If you want to feel like you actually did something with your life, feel appreciated & still go home with some energy left for your family do not apply here. 

In my case, work load was not huge. I worked remotely on Revenue Cycle and learned billing and coding. Workplace culture was not great for remote staff, we were always treated with suspicion. Always had to be at your desk. No Flex Time available.  PTO or sick has to be used for doctors appts, children’s school activities, picking up children if they were sick, etc. 

Promotion wasn’t encouraged for remote staff. 

Management gave new assignments but did  not offer training, but expected employees to ask other coworkers how to do a task. Which took time out of the coworker’s day. However, coworkers always willing to help each other. 

Management often required employees to do assignments outside of our scope with minimal or no training.  

I was laid off due to the company filing for bankruptcy. I and the other staff also laid off were not given a reason why we were chosen and not other members of our team. 

Most enjoyable part of the job was not having to be in the office. 

Working for MCR can be an interesting place if you find a clinic you gel with and the staff all get along but if you're not Charge nurse or higher then you don't matter to upper management. And even then the supervisors pick and choose who they really care about and who gets defended. One particular person is a known to have chased off 7 people from working in the office but nothing is done because the upper managers protect them from all consequences.

Their communication also falls through, recently the employee handbook was updated and no one was told about it meaning several people got write ups that were no longer valid per the rule changes as not even the superiors were made aware of the changes.

"Temporary" transfers between clinics happen a lot as well, and once you're in that loop you're pretty much on the float team never to be permanently assigned to a location again because there's also another clinic that's short staffed.

Overall if you can stick yourself in a good clinic it's a fine job, but get wiggled out or be under the eye of one of the supervisors who is write up happy and it is a tough gig.

This is an excellent place to get experience and save money for a year and then go somewhere else. Don't settle down here, you will lose all your nursing skills, and your work will never be appreciated. You get PTO, but they don't let you use it, and then all of a sudden fire you. This company is very greedy. I tell you they don't care about their patients on staff but on ways to get more patients and money. The doctors you assist are disrespectful, they will put you and your health at risk to obtain more numbers, you are forced to do your work like Flash, and they still demand from you. You will not complete your tasks because of how short staff you are, and they will reprimand you and make you work Saturdays to compensate. During the pandemic, forget about PPE, you will wear the same mask for a month if you're lucky. Also, you can be on your knees, begging for help and vomiting, and they will completely disregard you, it's impossible to call off. Go somewhere else.
