In the summer a typical day at work is a lot of sweat, lots of water and gatorade. In the winter, depending on your job, it is more sweat, but walking into the cold for breaks to get to the break room.

I learned a lot about the process of preparing roof bolts for underground mining.

While I enjoyed working with most of my co-workers, I found that management left a bit to be desired. I found that consistency in enforcing company policies was seriously lacking, and communication was pretty bad.

The hardest part of my job was the job itself. It was hard work from start to finish.

The most enjoyable part of my job was the end of the day, looking back to realize that although the work was hard, what was accomplished was pretty cool.

You get hired as a temp through Malone. I was told I would be a temp for 3 months then hired on. First of many lies. When I worked there some temps had been a temp for a year and a half and still not hired on. I was also told you would work overtime during the week so you would not have to work weekends and have time with your family. More deception and outright misleading. We work 10s or 12s Monday through Friday and 8 or 10s every Saturday with the exception of 2 or 3 for the year I was there. You are randomly assigned a machine and if you asked to be trained on something else they laugh in your face. Extremely hostile management from the top all the way down. They work you in to the ground and do not care. If you are desperate for a paycheck you'll make some money here but you won't have any quality of life outside of work and won't do much of anything except work and sleep.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I know personally what ALL those machines can do and how much they can produce worked there my last 7 yrs. That we was EXCEL MINING DIVISION... Great place to work for but the sole problem lays with (Management & upgrading for parts on machines) I worked there for 25 yrs. And seen first hand like many others before me 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
 poor management and faulty machinery 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work group as long as there not playing on there phones or going to the bathroom every 45 minutes just to play on there phones

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pretty smooth knowing your department

Management uses intimidation and scare tactics to threaten your position and/or advancement, no class, very unprofessional and a bunch of alcoholics. Management not involved enough and pick favorites. Advances are promised but not fulfilled and management lies to cover themselves and throw employees under the bus. Also experienced unprofessional phone calls and threats from Maintenance Supervision while on the clock and him intoxicated, very unpleasant experience. Immature behavior as well for a supervisor. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Benefits and the 401k only the pay is under rated.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The heat and hours during the summer as they push for more 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Just work and focus on the company and let's say as well as your individual experience while employed there, may suit some but not many

They try to be fair, but many try to take extra break time dragging in that it makes bosses angry and the rest you know .

I had one bad day at work and was aggravated, but moved away from the situation to cool down and get my head in order. Having a job is important for me because I can't always depend on my parents to pay my way through life. I got along with everyone. We did our job and had fun too. The hardest part was learning how to work the forklift. Being away from home so I didn't have to hear my dad gripe at me.

At Minova, the workplace is filled with people who want to work. We manufacture the best product we can to send out to our main customers: mining companies across the US. The energy is high as well as the demand for production. However, it poses risks of injury working around machinery. The Grand Junction Minova location has a record of being the safest shop in the company, running at 8-9 years without any accident or injuries.

Poor planning, very very old machines. They always push numbers even though the machines arent capable of the outrageous goals. Extremely hot in the summer and vice versa in the winter. Great for the 18 year old to really learn what hard work is.  Great no experience needed job that also builds experience for bigger better plants. But its definitely not a place to retire as the pay caps out around 18ish.

They have a snack area and the floor supervisors are friendly

They keep raising you quota making it impossible to hit your daily goal

Very hot and stressful environment

Very stressful every day  and the machine I work has ruined my hands probably for life
