Full Job Description

A well-established company in the construction and building materials space is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement efforts across multiple active projects. The organization supports the fabrication and installation of specialized exterior building components for commercial applications.

This role is responsible for managing material purchasing, maintaining inventory strategy, and ensuring alignment between project requirements and supply availability.

Core Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day purchasing operations for materials used in fabrication and field installation
Review bills of materials (BOMs) and project documentation including blueprints to drive accurate procurement decisions
Maintain and monitor inventory levels, including establishing and managing min/max thresholds
Oversee sourcing and purchasing of glass and related materials
Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support material planning
Coordinate with project management and production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, cost control, and vendor performance

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
Strong ability to read and work from BOMs and technical drawings/blueprints
Experience managing inventory levels in a manufacturing or construction environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Industry experience in construction, architectural products, or similar environments preferred
Familiarity with commercial door hardware or related components is a plus
