I love the atmosphere, the work flow, co-workers, etc.  Honestly  the pay is on the low side for a senior medical assistant ( you have to take into consideration that you are working for a non profit community health center so you’re definitely not going to make as much as you could in a private practice, but the benefits are slightly above average.  There is really not a lot of turnover which says a lot about a company.  I would say there’s definite teamwork and appreciation overall.  One thing I will not put up with and I have not seen it here and I greatly appreciate it is the fact that  the providers don’t treat their medical assistance as if they worked for them but they treat their medical assistance (as should be) working with them as a team!  

Drama is low minimum to none and to be honest I have not experienced any drama definitely a toxic free environment.  Management has an open door policy, I feel comfortable reaching out to anyone within the company for whatever reasons.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of the job is meeting new patients and connecting them with the team. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is HORRIBLE. Their turnover rate is high because they never have a solid plan. The managers are never on the same page someone will tell you to do something one way and the next day someone else will tell you you’re doing it all wrong and have you do it a different way. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is like a high school cafeteria. Management is undertrained on a power trip and when concerns are voiced they are not taken seriously if your co worker is the managers favorite. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, busy, overload of work.

Great people, patients need medical and guidance - which Manet gives, salary is very low for Boston, job security is good but advancemnet is not.  Management is in turmoil with the recent firing of CEO and COO by the board.  Job schedule works well with family life.
 - I have learned the business and medical operations of a non-profit operation, with grants, city backing and insurance income.
- The hardest part of work is dealing with language barrier,  even with an interrupters, culture plays a big role in medical intake.
- I love helping people that otherwise would not be helped.  I like learning from the homeless, drug addicted and everyday hard working society.

My job responsibilities included, triage skills, first thing in the morning you check the incoming calls from the night before.  Your prioritize call backs with the most in need being first, but everyone gets a call back.  I learned a lot about diversity, different cultures and their view on their health care.  I learned a lot about pediatric immunizations as well as adult.  There was a lot of teaching involved, depending on the patients needs, mental status and ability to learn.  I worked well with my co-workers as it takes the whole team to assure the patients get top quality health care.  I really enjoyed the people as you would help them assure their health care is priority.

Absolutely nothing was good about working for this company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everyone in the office I worked in violated HIPAA. There was no structure. The manager of the office was concerned with making friends more than being a boss and running a clinic. Have vaccines to each other and did not document them causing trouble down the line. Horrible experience.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Like a middle school with a bunch of hormonal pre teens bashing one another.

The work we do here. It’s challenging but rewarding z

It can be challenging trying to get people the resources they need. It is hard to see people suffer from housing/food insecurity

Work environment is cohesive. The organisation promotes self care. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I am clinical so I am seeing patients all day

If you like to work with substance use disorders and mental health then this is a job for you. A typical day is education and testing  for HIV, Hep C, and STI's and providing treatment on positive clients. Also, teaching and training clients and family/friends with loved ones still active on Naloxone. You go to events, do street outreach, and work in the office. You are always doing something.

Very stressful with minimal support

Non stop, picking up fellow workers slack, no accountability

I worked at Manet Community Health Center, for a month and I was always looking forward to go to work everyday. It was for a short period of time that went by really fast. Manet is an exciting and friendly environment. The staff was very helpful and supportive, which made it less tense...........I did consider myself very blessed to be seleceted by Manet, to complete my intern

EXCELLENT! I worked there for a short time, but I was able to soak in the culture and environment at Manet. I am absolutely pleased with my time there, and if the opportunity presented itself, I would definitely go back.
