I had an excellent experience with the caregiver from Manos Home Care in Oakland. The caregiver was compassionate, professional, and attentive, providing exceptional care for my loved one. Their communication was always clear, keeping me updated on my loved one's progress, and they were proactive in addressing any concerns. They also demonstrated a strong knowledge of personal care routines and health management, making me feel confident in their abilities. Overall, I highly recommend Manos Home Care in Oakland for anyone in need of reliable and compassionate caregiving services.

Hardest part of the job is if your 14 year old client is having a rough day and will not stop crying until mom comes home from work and that's two hours from now. What I learned is sensory compression of the arms and counting slowly to 50 would calm my client down for a little while or til mom came home. The best part of my job is when my client is happy and giggling and having fun.
Not having more than one client puts a damper on my wallet big time.
The $9 dollars and hour is low to me because we have to use our own cars to travel with no gas or mileage pay and NO medical or dental.

You are helping people and can choose to get paid every week or bi weekly, the workers are nice and bilingual

Different needs you may need to tend to may require lifting

Great , they will help you what whatever you need

Runs pretty smooth everyone gets along

The company is very chill and laid back, mo pressure.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Definitely depends on the client,  the eirkload is case by case.

I learned how to assistant clients in obtaining the family goals as set by the Case Manager assigned to the family. My job was direct care working with families that had children with a diagnosis of Autism.

Since I've been with Manos they have consistently kept me with a job.  No matter if it's a recession or pandemic Manos makes sure  their employees are financially stable. Manos shows great concern and appreciation to their employees, they always make me feel valued.  As s company Manos goes out of there way to make sure to bring complete satisfaction to their customer.

Overall the work environment was fun to work in and people were great. There is a bit of micromanaging but overall it was a good place to work in as long as you do your job. One negative was that there were a few employees that would bad mouth or try to get other coworkers in trouble. 

Overall fun agency to work for. However only family members or family friends advance for the most part or get fancy job titles no one understands. Other than that the job itself is not stressful.

I dont think there is any part of the job that is stressful

was super excited to work here and learn more about the company and gain some experience. a few months in the training sucks, supervisors suck, micro management and a lot of favoritism. do not recommend working here at all. coworkers are super nice but it is not worth working for.
