Let me just say, I love this job. The ability to work from home cannot be understated. Knowing that my pets are not alone and that when my children come home from school I am able to greet them at the door is worth any of the small annoyances hands down. The patients we serve are the most vulnerable populations. They feel as if they are forgotten and that no one cares if they live or die...until they meet us. Having a nurse come into your home to help meet your needs right where you are is invaluable. Being able to let someone know that YOU care and are going to try your best to fight to get them what they need is amazing. 
The MedZed family is unlike anything I've ever experienced. There is no sense that you are "less than" because your title is different than someone else's. The love that I feel from the staff I work with as well as the patients fills my soul every day! Is the work hard...yes, but it is also very rewarding. You end up learning about conditions only seen in textbooks! Having brilliant people around you to help mentor and guide you is priceless. I feel so blessed to be a part of this team. I have worked at many other jobs as an FNP and I have finally realized that money is not everything! When I chose happiness instead of looking a just the compensation I became the happiest that I've ever been. I would make this choice all over again without hesitation. Thank you MedZed for welcoming me into this family and for always treating me with love and respect.

*No TBS test/ Medical exams required for employees, but will be working in the community, risking employees and the community.
*No drug test or thorough background check which makes it appealing to someone with a record, and doing drugs as there is no drug screen.
*Open door policy not honored.
*Pre 9/11 Human resource values and principles, old fashion and robotic. It's the year 2020 and SO much is happening within humans, and in the community. One size fits all approach rather than individualizing and honoring each human where they are.
*Team dynamics are competitive rather than teamwork. 
*Not who they say they are in the interview process.
*Discouraged from notating member's allergies, after I tried to explain that allergies may be a manifestation of Health concerns, and not having this information can be dangerous as there are interventions that have to be suggested~ It is here that I knew that, MEDZED and it's associates do not care about the members and only care about making money.
*You will be going from home to home, unannounced, qualifying and "selling" your services. 
*Not supportive of having to create your own training environment as everything is through Microsoft Teams, and it is not like a regular professional employer who in training provides coffee and snacks.  
*Being trained on working around the system without proper ROI'S (Releases of Information)
*Watch out for personal emails from the CEO at 5:03a.m on a Sunday Morning

I started working at MedZed because of their mission and values, it was tough working for a start up in the beginning but it was rewarding most of the time. We all had to wear different hats and work as a team to keep the patient care flowing. The nursing staff and back office staff were amazing, as well as management. I stayed for as long as I did because I really enjoyed working with the coworkers I had. 

2020 when the company “bought out” another company that had 1.5 star review from their former staff, was when a lot of the mission and value shifted and it wasn’t about that anymore. It was more about meeting numbers rather than patient care, New management came in and constantly asked the original employees what their roles and tasks were like they didn’t trust your word, and would go behind your back and acted like you didn’t verbally or email explained your role and responsibility to them. Heavy on the micromanaging and once they didn’t like you for whatever reason they made work more stressful than it was or would find ways to get you fired. Lots of mental break downs and burn outs. Hard to get promoted after company merger, they promise you things but don’t deliver. 

Medzed is not the same as a few years ago. Change is good...when it’s positive change. They’ve lost their values even though CEO keeps saying they’re still very much there and we need  to make advancements within the company. I’m not sure they believe in annual raises and also they tend to pay more for new hires who end up quitting a few months after than those who have been loyal and have been with the company for a longer time. Scheduling messes up routes even after it’s brought to their attention PLENTY times. The concept of MedZed alone is a wonderful one...it allows you to serve the most needed high risk population, however since it’s becoming a corporate company they are micromanaging more and putting pressure to meet their benchmarks of less canceled appointments. It can become overwhelming at times and definitely a job for a younger nurse that is tech savvy also for a nurse who enjoys to drive.

Trying to make sure to be able to reach all your assigned members and system with their needs

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is really positive. They really stress and promote teamwork, communication, and overall good work ethic.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The best part of working here and your day is that you can plan out your day and it could be consistent pretty much every day throughout the week. Number one you start out with a meeting number two start making your phone calls and reaching out to your members on the caseload Number three you start making home visits to get to know your members more so you can find the best way to give them Support

The company is only focused on making numbers and their quotas.
 No opportunity for growth. They say that they promote the ones that do well. When that is not true. You have to ask for promotions. And if they do offer a promotion the pay is not at all decent. The people that do well are then given more responsibilities and not paid for the extra work. 
You’re Expected to be happy to do extra work OUTSIDE your job duties and if you ask for higher pay they daily they can’t do it but are “thankful” for your help. 
 They hire terrible employees do to not vetting enough and the program managers are so incompetent and inappropriate. But no one knows due to them not being held accountable or even monitored. 
They offer NO paid personal days when this job can be extremely stressful. Many other companies offer PAID personal days


Zero respect for work life balance. People try to reach you after hours, lunch, and on your vacations. You are in 5-8 calls a day so you end up working a ton after hours. People are NEGATIVE. The work experience is so bad. People are angry, not collaborative and finger pointing and blaming is constant through out the company. It’s incredible how bad the environment is, even though it’s a remote company. You are exploited. They will try to work every sweat out of you for non competitive wages. The salaries provided proves how unorganized and unstructured pay is. People with the same jobs have HUGE pay differences in pay. Medzed works people to the bones. All meetings are about numbers. The company is a revolving door. People use medzed as a stepping stone. Most of the good talent leave. If you are a hard worker, you are used to compensate for bad workers. If you work quickly, and efficiently, your work load is questioned. MedZed is the most negative work environment in remote work cultures.



It's very easy getting up to come to work in the morning because of the amazing team at MedZed. Everyone from the nurses in the field to the C-suite always demonstrates a true sense of passion regarding patient care. 

All of the managers are extremely receptive to feedback and are always willing to make time to talk to you; they are always willing to support you in any way possible. They work extremely hard to foster a great collaborative working environment and a team-focused culture. 

The work here is incredibly fast paced and every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn. Working with our clients (large health care institutions) can be frustrating because of how quickly things get done at MedZed.

The work is extremely important to the clients who are in need. Company pays decent, leaves you alone to figure mostly everything out. If you are someone with experience this can be a plus. If you lack the education or background in this field it will be hard to rely on management for education and training. Once you are out of training you will be bombarded with assignments and deadlines that have nothing to do with your patients and you will still have a panel of 45 people wondering why you haven’t called to check on them or respond to something they had asked your help with. 

If you have a background in case management even HS Diploma they will take you just don’t expect to have a lot of training or structure but the freedom to do things in your own way as long as certain requirements are met is nice.
