Medical Consulting Group is not only a company that helps other clinics and centers across the U.S., but it is a company that cares about their employees.  I have only been here a short time and it feels like my second "real home." Everyone cares about you and wants to know how you are doing.  The owners we call "Principals" do wonderful events every month to show that they care.  This month we celebrated National Bundt Cake Day with bundt cakes!  Then we got another surprise for Thanksgiving.  I worked at other places before MCG, some as big as 10,000 employees and some as small as 6.  MCG outshines them all and I am glad to find a place to call my "second home."

This place does not train whatsoever. If you ask questions that gives everyone more to gossip about.  Apparently there isn't enough work for all that work there since everyone is too busy worrying about the next person. Management is included. If you are a relative of the owner/management you are golden. People there have already formed an opinion about you before you even know their name based on gossip/lies. They don't want honest, dependable hard working people. If you don't gossip, and you care about your mental stability, don't work there. 

I have worked here at MCG for 3 years, it is a busy, fast paced environment which as we know comes with stress sometimes.  Tight deadlines, meetings, issues, unhappy patients sometimes but it is all part of it.  I love the challenge and serving our clients.  MCG is like a big family, our coworkers work together to get the job done.  We help each other both professionally and personally because we care about each other.  

The expectations are high, and the pace can feel sink-or-swim depending on the role. There isn’t a lot of close supervision or step-by-step instruction, so people who are comfortable learning as they go tend to have the best experience. Those looking for very structured training and guidance typical of a more entry-level position may feel they aren’t getting enough support. However, I've personally seen people come in with little to no experience in this field and they are doing great. 

MCG is a great place to work and has given me great opportunities for advancement.  The Owners/Principals are wonderful to work with and have an open-door policy.  Everyone here is very friendly and willing to help any time.  It's like any other business in that some days have their frustrations, but overall, I look forward to coming to work each day.  The pay, benefits, and PTO are all good - I have no complaints.  I'm just very glad to be here.  

I feel like all the staff at MCG have such an open-door policy.  I can easily bring a concern, a suggestion or even share a cup of coffee with them. I've never worked in a more friendly environment that allows me to work my hours without having to take job stress home with me after I clock out.  I am grateful for the trust they have shown me all year long.  I am excited to see what next year brings since we are growing which also brings comfort when it comes to job security. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Free soda and coffee.  The team managers are very easy going.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Director and HR are working hard to make it more corporate than what they used to be.  Now it is more like a call center

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Call center, everyone does work as a team

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just like anywhere else. Very busy

I have been here for a year, and I really enjoy my job here at MCG! The management is amazing and understanding! My boss specifically is amazing to work for! MCG is very family oriented which helps since I am a single mom! Benefits are really good for what I need for medical! I have the ability to work from home if needed but I choose to work in the office! I enjoy my coworkers and the work environment! 

If you are joining this company and working in the RCM department good luck. I was only employed here for 4 months as a coder before I put in my two weeks. Management is terrible and there is way too much drama. You also receive very little training and they will say you can work from home after the 3 month training but that is not true. I think if they got a new RCM supervisor and coding manager things would be better for the company overall. 

Overall is a good place to work, but probably like most offices, there are office politics that are always a pain. Managers definitely play favorites and the owners do not listen to the employees very well.

But, there is a good amount of PTO and the culture is very flexible and friendly overall.
