I am going to give my honest review on this company after working for them for over a year. The interview process was fair. There were about 3 rounds for my position and I got to meet a lot of individuals. For the role I worked in, I don't believe 3 rounds were needed though. I interviewed with different people from different job titles and departments. They did very well with explaining what they offered in terms of pay and benefits. I accepted the role because I was sold on the 2 days in office per week as that creates a good work/life balance and accepted because I was in need of a job at the time. 

The first couple of months were good for the most part. In my first week, I wasn't given the correct modules to learn my job. This made my probation period more challenging. When I asked my supervisor at the time for additional assistance, they were nice enough to spend extra time with me. They ended up leaving after a few months and a new person started to train me. I found out I learned my job incorrectly for a good amount of my job duties. I then had to relearn everything.

When I started becoming more comfortable with my position, management asked if I could take on additional work temporarily until they could figure out what to do going forward. I accepted at the time because I really was focused on trying to move up in the company and they told me I'd only be doing a couple more tasks. Unfortunately, they ended up giving me double the workload for no additional compensation. This really led to me ultimately getting burnt out.

They had a round of layoffs shortly after with what seemed like over 100 people who were affected. A lot of people were blind sided by this action and it led to a lot of people still with the company being scared of how secure their job really was. This was the start of the company starting to go down hill. I kept my peace and focused on myself.

Next thing you know, the company started throwing additional tasks on our plate to get done on a weekly basis. Very time consuming work and honestly not needed. It was just to keep busy. I started feeling more drained since I essentially had to do double the work with whatever they assigned.

I ultimately became burnt out. I told my leader how I was feeling about being burnt out and being assigned too much work and they told our other manager and they decided to blow the situation out of proportion. This led to that manager threatening my job because I went against "the company values." 

I proceeded to meet up with my manager to follow up to make sure everything was good and they reassured me that it is and they will take an office away and revisit the situation later on. I was starting to feel better and that my workload was adequate for my compensation and time. Next thing you know, I was let go for a reduction in workforce, but the ultimate determining factor of choosing me amongst my peers was for "my behavior" and "going against the company values of linking arms with each other to help."

A lot of people have left this company during my time here. People that had been here multiple years. All of the competitors offer more in terms of compensation. Medix is so money hungry that they don't honestly care how anyone feels. The managers also get a commission on top of their salary based on their office performance so of course they will want to try to get as much as they can out of someone. What was a selling factor on 2 days in office shortly became 3 days so that way people can be involved with "the company culture." In other words, they can keep closer tabs on everyone and work them harder. The company has gone through a lot of changes and at first, I was thinking that it was me being sensitive, but when so many people are leaving for the same reasons, you start to question the company and if you should still work there.

What the company tries to motivate you with are happy hours. Instead of paying a livable wage, they will reward people with a certain limit depending on the office size to go out for drinks. The company also expects you to work more than 8 hours a day, but since you are paid salary in a producer role, they can easily keep you for around 10 hours a day. The company wants you to live and breathe them, so there will be a disconnect if you really value a work/life balance. 

What makes it better is the company sent out a survey at one point asking people for information "anonymously" on pay, what the company is doing well, what they can improve on, and then proceeding to give them a good review towards the end which I did not because I don't believe they deserve one. The fact they asked every employee to write a GOOD REVIEW. That's when you know. The company also prays on fresh college graduates in hopes that Medix will be their first job so that they won't know that they deserve better in terms of compensation. Since I worked multiple jobs before and have been working for over 10 years, I knew better. 

I did so much for this company joining extracurriculars and no matter what I did, they focused only on their ego and who was ultimately affecting it. I was ultimately cut for knowing too much in a sense. I was such a high performer and got great reviews from external talents. 

I also have to say if you are a non-producer, you won't be seen as being that valued, they will pay you less, make you feel like less, and not realize all the work you do behind the scenes of keeping track of all the revenue coming in and following up with talents more than their own recruiters. There also is very limited options for progressing in the company even though they sell you that their are tons of room for growth. I literally saw 2 positions in a year with this company that many people went for. The ones that kissed butt were the ones that got it and even the promotions only pay a dollar or two more.

Long story short, I think a fair rating is 2 stars. There are worse jobs out there but there are a lot of better ones. The pay is not livable, you will be overworked, but you are hybrid and the PTO you can take is a decent amount (15 days per year starting out, 6 mental health days, 8 paid holidays). You will find nice people on your teams that make working there manageable. Some managers can't be trusted, though you can find a few. If you are starting out in the working world, this could be a good job for you for the first 1-2 years to gain experience. Afterwards, it's best to look elsewhere because you could get better compensation elsewhere. If you are under your parents insurance, then this job will be better since their medical insurance isn't the best. Also, HR does not follow the normal protocols other HR professionals do at other companies. There are HR professionals in the company that were moved up from other roles with little to no knowledge in HR. I didn’t even get a chance to say my piece when the situation happened; they just take the manager's side of things.  It's really unfortunate how this company turned out with all the changes. What was once a good place to work ultimately became a place everyone is trying to leave.

Plenty of work and reasonable pay in conjunction with Covid Check Colorado.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I’m thinking more of the other company that was the one making bad management choices. I never had an issue with Medix. I worked for Covid Check Colorado through Medix.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good. There were other people from Medix in my team. We didn’t have any payment issues, etc.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
In my case it was meeting & greeting the general public. Obtaining pertinent information. Data entry. Obtaining PCR samples from the patients. Labeling the samples. Entering its info in the computer. Obtaining Parental Consents when needed. Keeping the working area clean & organized. Follow OSHA Regulations & using Universal Precautions. Using PPE at all times, etc.

Medix was a very great  company to work for, unfortunately we were laid off in April due to downsizing.  They provided good benefits, supported all team members, all of the staff worked well with one another, and stepped in to assist at our busiest times during the peak of the pandemic.  Our team was very close and supportive of one another.  I hope to get more work from Medix some day.A typical day would sate at 7AM, we were assigned our duties for the day by the Charge Nurse, on average each nurse would average 100 pts. per day.  We rotated the nurses periodically from DNA/lab testing, to hands on assistance to pts.  In Saddition to counseling and supporting the most jsevere pts. coming in for services.

You can choose your schedule.
Pay rate are good.
Some coordinators are very professional.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The forms you have to fill every shift. 
Some coordinators are really unprofessional, they only advice you a few hours before the contract is finished.
Is not a permanent job.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fairy 
Do your job, be professional, kind and honest. And everything will be ok.

You have to work in a Fast environment , and many people giving orders.

My fellow employees and the job site. We had to work as a team to overcome the lack of support from Medex.

No support from the staff and management of the company. Poor communication and not kept informed of contact status.

You are just a warm body to make money for the company.

Because it is all contract work to various sites your actual day may vary depending on the site and that job duties.

They gave me so much opportunity not just for myself but many of us yes I can say I have become a much better worker and person because the opportunity medix gave me  thanks

Getting up in the morning but once you are there it's time to work

It's always been good especially the people around you

I know how much the company appreciate what we do and we are all recognized for our hard work

A typical day at work? Aiming to get hired long term with the contractor.

What you believe you learned? I learned several skill sets, adjustments to different work environments and determination.

Workplace Culture? Inclusivity, diversity, and Team commitment.

The hardest part of the job? Not getting hired on permanently with contractors.

The most enjoyable part of the job? Meeting new people, traveling, setting goals , healthy reviews, and feed back.

This isn’t the place for you if you want to be micromanaged day in and day out, week in and week out. You will have, if not one manager, multiple of them breathing down your neck and questioning every single thing you do each day. Also, it appears that this company enjoys blind-siding their hires; especially new hires, i.e. firing two recruiters the day after Christmas. I wouldn’t recommend joining Medix, as I was fooled into thinking their company culture and excellence was on par during the interview process. There is no longevity at this place. 

The people and culture were 10/10, but the weekly metrics and goals were extremely high and almost unattainable. Getting candidates to provide you with the required certifications and/or documents was like pulling teeth. Candidates will rarely show up to your scheduled interview times. The pressure to hit your goals is strong and they will micro manage you like crazy. You have weekly goals meetings where they will grill you. Constant push to exceed your goals and stay after 5pm. You already have to get there at 7:45am.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Having a recruiter so approachable was very new  to me . The relationship and team building skills I devolved says it all. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Remembering to enter time before payday

Professional work environment, and positive culture . 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
3:00AM -2:30 PM days . 
Loved having afternoons off to get things done during business hours was convenient.
