Typical day is system crashing all day. Understaffed and underpaid. Company will keep opening new clinics but will not fill the roles, they’d rather fill roles that works from home or hire HR which does not help the staffs on the floor. These work from home/HR don’t ever want to step into the clinics, all decisions made to change the clinics are made by staffs who don’t even know/understand the workflow or the population. Depending on your supervisor, they either like you or they have favoritism. You’ll get PTO denied but others will get PTO weekly. It use to be a good place to work for, I had a sense of purpose. CEO changed to diff person, it’s more quantity over quality. Patient care is now a dumpster fire, leaders do not care. It’s all talk to butter you up and no action. You can ask all the questions you want, they will throw all these big words at you without actually answering your questions. Staffs who have been with the company for 6-10+ years are being fired left and right because they are standing up for their staffs.
Hardest part of the job: no room to grow, no room for a raise.
Top leaders will keep pocketing money and promotions while staffs on the floors are underpaid and understaffed.
Competent review recently reinforced, supposedly to determined our raise. Rating yourself from 1 to 5, 5 being outstanding. You can’t even rate yourself a 5. Even when your supervisor rate you a 5. Leadership say we don’t deserve a 5. But other higher ups get the promotion and the raise instead.
Most enjoyable part: the small team you have at the clinic that takes care of you. Leadership not so much. They do not care about the staffs that ACTUALLY works on the floor. If you want a promotion, kiss boots and never talk back. That’s their new goals and vision.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The mission and the passion in some to accomplish the overall goal of Health Care for All. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
THE CEO and lack of acknowledgement of anything negative going on. The CEO's lack of responsibility and acceptance of his bad decisions/ideas and placing blame on those beneath him and of those speaking up for the frontline workers. The CEO's constant gaslighting about not having the budget to hire front line workers who are the least paid, but able to afford to open new sites and hire additional executive team members that costs more than frontline workers yearly pay. Being short staffed and having to take on additional tasks, but being told you may be fired if you go into overtime. The lack of accountability of some non-executive leaders to their employees by retaining poor performers and overworking the high performers. Rate of pay being the same for all within job family regardless if top or bottom performers, same raise percentage for all. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depends where within the company you work. Some clinics have an amazing work dynamic and culture within the site. Other sites/clinics is like being in high school with the drama, hypocrisy and clicks. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, either short staffed, computer issues, both or some change happening that was poorly planned or executed.

Workplace is very unorganized. No policy that you can pull up and refer too. Everything is hearsay. There is NO COMMUNICATION at all between workflows. Some providers are very unapproachable. No support even though they preach it, just all talk about support but nothing to support staff. Training is not even training. It's more of tossing you in and you are having to figure things out for yourself. When you ask questions or even suggest what can be improved, they don't listen and just shrug it off. I feel bad for new providers who started there as there is zero support, zero communication, zero training, and zero policy/procedures to fall back on if anything and then they get "talked too" because they aren't doing things right. Supervisors and higher ups think that everyone wants to steal their job or something. Even though they cannot even manage their duties, they do not allow for training others to help so then the clinic is always out of stock on things that is needed. There is zero opportunities for growth. Not only that, they do not get raises at all.  The care that people come in for, I would suggest going elsewhere for better care as I've seen how some providers treat patients. The only good thing about this workplace is their PTO benefits. Other than that, I cannot say anything else that is good. 

I am fortunate to have an excellent team of hygienists and my dental assistant is the best a dentist can ask for. They will be my friends forever.
It was heartbreaking to have to leave Minnesota community Care. I would never leave them had I not had to move to a different state for family reasons.
All my colleagues were supportive in every way and I am thankful to have worked with a compassionate clinic manager and the dental director is always open to ideas and listened to even the smallest of our concerns.
I feel blessed to have worked with such a great team providing quality dental care to patients regardless of their insurance.

Organizations barely give a good pay raise and there’s a lot of staff retention. Often working two people’s jobs and covering other teams when staff calls out. Lots to learn and process in a minimum time frame. It’s a very fast-paced job and if you have a good time it makes the job doable and fun. Some providers are great and some are terrible to work with. 

It's a non-profit so they're pretty relaxed about many things. This means wether you work hard or are a slacker, nothing much changes. It's disheartening though to have seen many Providers who are passionate about the job and worked there for decades leaving in the past couple of years due to poor leadership.

ordering of inventory is a bit more controlled than other pharmacies

MCC is an excellent clinic system. Focused on the wellbeing of patients and staff. Very impressed by diversity and inclusion initiatives. Work Life balance is great in the auxilliary care departments..

Most enjoyable is the patients and coworkers. But the clinic is managed very poorly. Most of the time there is no lead or management on site to handle situations that needs to be handled. 

Unorganized, workplace drama, favoritism, nonbillable are first to be laid off, lazy and uncaring workers. Management doesn’t seem fo know what they’re doing most time. Decisions and “knowledge” are extremely slow.
