There has been a large exodus of workers, and for good reason. Administrators and directors have little to no experience in successfully operating an agency. Their main concern is dress code (they once went around each desk to check everyone’s outfits) and they use an authoritarian management style. The administration truly looks down on its workers. The employees are drowning in work and disorganization. Information is dispersed via gossip and workers are kept in the dark about plans. I have had so many encounters with rude coworkers and supervisors. You would not believe the things I have seen and heard there. I had anxiety everyday about going there. They refuse to accommodate anyone, I believe they feel like every worker is “trying to get one over on them”. They have lost a lot of great workers as a result. They’re also the type of place that punishes their good workers by increasing their caseload (never any raises for that), and substandard workers are given less responsibility and work. I am so happy to be away from that place! I worked there for 12 years and every year it got progressively worse. 

I can say the job is easy however you can't speak up about lack of supervision or you will be deemed confrontational. Left alone many times in a WTP , when speaking up about being left alone , they put individuals with you that can not perform all the duties of the position thus not relieving the stress of working alone. Never given correct numbers of contact to call out however deemed failure to comply for communicating to co worker for a number , and do the right thing and call out. Basically if your not a push over , it won't work out. Constantly  receiving fushing emails as prompted to change password  then seemed excessive.  Consistent glitches of locking and blocking passwords. Dont even  think bout calling the a ting supervisor  for help because  she never answers , when brought to her attention that you called.... oh I wonder why my phone didn't ring as if she never noticed my calls. After 4 o clock on days no coverage  , left alone to do all close out procedures  alone. By the time they take your money for insurance and taxes its only 28k. All the  stress its not worth it. 

Monmouth ACTs was a great place to work at. My colleagues were respectable and kind. They were always willing to assist and were easy to work with. The only issue I have is that, like almost every non-profit, upper-management doesn't have a good time adapting to new environments. I do not fault them for that as I see that as a systemic issue in non-profit work. I think that any person would have a great experience working at this organizations. 

The Rum Runner is an overall great work environment with friendly people. The professional staff in a beach environment creates the perfect setting to enjoy a meal. I have learned different types of foods and drinks, but also leadership and team building skills. The management is structured well at the Rum Runner because there is a manager for each position (i.e. bartenders, servers, hostesses, bus boys, and fun runners).  The hardest part of this job is the high paced work environment which does not leave room for error. The most enjoyable part of the job is gathering regular customers and meeting new people.

The long commute I had everyday. Adding that to the fact that I drove so much for the job...

A little bit too slow paced for me

The culture is to not speak up about an issue, because the political powers must be appeased. They do not pay a living wage, and this results in being understaffed. So, the underpaid employees are doing the jobs of multiple people. Remote work is a dirty word here. 
Expect to be gaslit if you request an ADA accommodation that is not liked by the politicians.

Unionized, but the direct management abuse loopholes and the compensation is terrible for being considered law enforcement. Is great for part time work for retired people, but the full time employees are nickled and dimed over most things. From uniforms, to overtime, it's supposed to be easy but it's not designed for you, the employee. Its designed for the budget and projections for the next year.

As a social worker for Monmouth County, I have seen all walks of life. Although it may sometimes be a very mentally tough job, it is very rewarding when you can look back at a family or individual that you have helped and see how far they have come and how much they have succeeded thanks to the help that you have provided. I see this quite often and even more so with the special programs, like transitional housing, that I work with on a daily basis.

I liked the work, being outside, doing work where you could see the improvements that you made. Seeing customers who commented on the quality of the golf course. It reflects the knowledge of management in turf management. On the negative, if you are not in the union and worked to hard you were looked down upon and if you knew something they didn't know it was not appreciated. 

Terrible work place where political connections seem to rule who receives promotions in the workplace as opposed to work performance! During COVID, workers who did not follow stipulated County policies seem to have more rights than this employees who did follow proper protocols.
