Murata offers flexibility in working hours, a modern office with good facilities - including a nicely-equipped break room. We share the building with a few other businesses, but the property management team is competent and takes care of everyone’s needs. So, there is no stress in that area. The work for my job comes in spurts, so I have time to practice other skills in the slower times. Many people have worked here more than 20 years! Very diverse work force with many different nationalities. We have an annual Holiday party, and even a Halloween costume party. Overall, people are friendly but they know when to work. Management leaves us free to handle our jobs, and that is very important!

For me, the moment I walked through the door I was busy, with too much to do, till I left for the day. I've learned how cut-throat the corporate world can be. Senior management is a nightmare at Murata and this is the primary reason the company has been failing for many years. My co-workers, on the other hand are wonderful, supportive, hard-working people. Could not ask for a better group of people to work with. Hardest part of the job is trying to keep up with a workload which has increased big time due to several reductions in "headcount". Dealing with management who thought one person could somehow perform the work of three makes working for them pretty miserable. But the regular workers? Absolutely the best!!!

MuRata was an excellent place to work, management was well informed and attuned to employees needs, they did their best to make sure the work place was well maintained and employees were given opportunities for advancement through a bidding system. the hardest part of the job was when the company decided to do a 12 hour/3 day on and off schedule. In my opinion that was the down fall of the company, Just four years after that was implemented the facility closed.

Well, when I joined this company, the good thing about it was job security and work time. But with the evolution the job security has taken a back seat. The management here is egoistic, has no professionalism. There’s no scope for skill development. There’s no training’s and workshops. There’s no motivation to work here. They have changed all the company policy and now the work culture here is pathetic. Theres cheap politics for promotions. 

I had many different jobs at Murata, but the one core thing I did throughout was to manage our manufacturing standard costing system.

I always felt like I was learning something new.
There were a lot of resources around to help.

They cared about the individual, and did a lot of training as well.

All the complex machinery and processes needed to produce the end product (ceramic capacitors) was fascinating.

I learned a lot about capacitor design, as well as the cost components.

a typical day at murata as a coop involved answering emails and filling out paper work. 
I learned about how to  handle an inbox and keep paper work organized while learning about the supply chain of electrical components
the culture of the other interns was miserable, what was supposed to be a casual work pace turned into a race to see who could do the most emails and no conversation, 
best part was working on market research and learning about how electronics are produced.

Truly enjoyed working for MuRata for the past 10 years.  I was given many learning opportunities to improve my knowledge of this global company.  
My yearly reviews were very positive and I was constantly encouraged by my supervisors.  

The only reason I retired was due to the long commute and the long hours.

You get out of the job/company what you put into it. The company has slowly embodied more of the American job culture for the better but still a way to go.

The company gives a standard of work culture and support employees for their work balance, tech learning . 

Development activity based on wireless RF module and also taking care everyday for trouble shooting the customer problems. 

I am supporting them for New business development activity based on future developments in industry.

I worked here for approximately 7.5 years, valued the experience and education; many employees had been with the original company for more than 25 years - very good friendships and teamwork.

Company was bought out in 2007 by a Japanese organization
