My Fit Foods

When i worked here, it was a disaster. Heres a run down on a typical day:
Get to work at 2pm
See that we must make 1700 meals total.
See thaf boss only schelued 4 people on producrion that day.
See that cooks have cooked only dinner meals.
See that labeler only labeled breakfast meals
I go to freezer room and the boxes of produce that came in are everywhere in the room creating a definite fire hazard. 
Wait around till cooks make breakfast food so we can finally start making meals around 3-3:30. 
Start making meals, when I get to snacks, realized that prep didnt prep the apples, oranges, etc. 
Have to prep self.
See that portioner decided to just not portion about 50 or more portion cups for meals. 
Have to portion self. 
By 6 o clock only have snacks and half breakfast done because of all the delay and disorganization. 
Oh yeah, did i mention our dishwasher didnt show up? 
One of the 4 people on production have to move to dishes. 3 people making meals. 
Dishwasher was scheduled 5 days a week. Only showed up 1 day a week.would call in or no show almost everyday. Ever fired? Nope. 
Making more meals and realized prep didnt dice the chicken. 
Go to prep diced chicken, WOOPS, raw chicken. (Idk what kind of cook, cant cook chicken all the way thru.)
Have to put chicken back in oven. 
Work, work, work
After meals finally done, clean everything. Sounds easy right? Wrong. Most cleaning equipment was broken or we didnt even have any. 
After cleaning, we all hop on dishes and help finish. 
Leave around midnight. Wake up next day and do almost same thing again.
This is just a TYPICAL day at myfitfoods when i worked there. Can you imagine what happens when things went wrong? 
My boss had forgot to order gloves, trashbags, washcloths, aprons.
He has forgotten to order meal boxes, and produce, and meat, and seasonings. 
I had a accaintence hired, he worked for two whole weeks, but its too bad because my boss forgot to put him on payroll and he.didnt get paid for another 4 days. (Not only employee paycheck theyve messed up)
When I started here, i was making 10$p/hr. After two months they cut everyones pay without any notice, before or after.
Our hours used to be 12-cls but was changed 2-cls because the two stores we made food for, did not know how to send pre-orders before 2. Although, our last pre order usually came in around 3:30. This was changed without notice as well. I did not know I would be working different hours until the day the new schedule came up.
The last thing on my list is that I have not received my w2 form. I filed for an extention. I called and emailed them but no one has responded. If i dont get a call or email back by friday Im calling the BBB.

Working at My Fit Foods gave me the opportunity to build relationships within the community while helping customers reach their health and wellness goals.

I learned a lot about nutrition, customer service, community outreach, and how to build meaningful relationships with both customers and local businesses. The role also helped me grow my communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Management was supportive of community involvement and encouraged creativity in building partnerships and promoting the brand. Like any fast paced retail environment, there were times when priorities shifted quickly, requiring flexibility and teamwork. With all of that, the workplace culture always stays positive, team oriented, and centered around helping people live healthier lives. My coworkers are passionate and care about creating a welcoming experience for customers and the team itself. 

The hardest part of the job can be balancing multiple responsibilities during a busy week but that’s the challenge of learning time management and organization for myself. 

The most enjoyable part of the job has been the culture of the team we have built, building partnerships in the community, and seeing the positive impact the meals and nutrition support had on people’s lives. Most especially, achieving my own goals with the support of everyone around me. 

At first, the job was like a dream job. I was able to talk to customers and enjoyed helping them with their fitness goals! However, the company lied to me about a lot of things. The first most obvious one was how I was told this was not a sales position. They then started giving me a sales script and told me it was just a "guide." First red flag but nothing major. During my interview, my manager HEAVILY hinted that I would be receiving promotions and get monthly bonuses. I never received a raise within the promised time of working there and on top of that, they started changing the bonus structure to be more unfair to the employees who put in the hard work. They threw so many responsibilities at me without an extra pay increase. One of these jobs included marketing around Denver and attending events. I was never reimbursed for gas mileage and I had to bring up payment for parking. Management is so scared of corporate that they will not work for the employee's best interest and will gaslight you about bad changes being good changes.

So, with all this, I did enjoy my time there only because my co-workers were awesome people. Literally everything else was a false promise or a lie to keep me happy. At the end of the day, they say they've changed from version 1 and they treat their customers very well. Unfortunately, the same principle does not apply to the employees.

Fundamentally, the concept was good originally. Other actors entered the market space. Competing in this business against large commercial distributors is a volatile pursuit. Bottom line is, they can produce the products for cheaper.  I love the company and the people I worked with, but logistically, cooking the meals and distributing them everyday was a LARGE source of wasted resources. This was counteracted by higher retail prices. Later in expansion of products, they begin marketing a wide array of supplements. The only problem I had here, was that we were to make claims, that regardless of what the head nutritionist/chemist at corporate told staff ... was not based in science. I read research constantly, probably 2-3 peer reviewed papers a day. In this, I know what I'm talking about. Specifically for example, there has been no conclusive evidence (at least up until 2015) showing that consumption of apple cider vinegar correlates to a lowering of ph levels in the blood stream in a normally distributed human population. Don't mean to nit pick, but I'd prefer be precise when I make claims like this.

At My Fit Foods, it's a grate opportunity for someone who's desire to be a chef or wish to run there own restaurant.It's a fast paced environment with a high demand of competition required from it's employee's. The best thing about them my time working there was Management.They set the tone for the day with team meetings and having that game plan to help us get through what seemed like a very long workday.They were inspiring and motivating; encouraging team members to take advantage of the chance to rise with the company.  Communication and chemistry of  team members were stellar. The hardest part of the job is being placed all over the kitchen after working most of the time in the freezer. Because of the difference of temperate, when you outside of the freezer and being assigned different duties, it get's too hot; causing perspire, to being subjected to getting sick. The most enjoying had to be the energy and vibe as all the employees on shift worked as a team to get the job complete, Very rare was our shift job duties incomplete for lack of effort from other employees, which made the day fast and easy.

I joined My Fit Foods during its current era of growth and leadership, and it’s the most inspiring, people-first environments I’ve ever been part of. The culture is built around ownership, personal development, and helping others genuinely change their lives through food and consistency.

My Fit Foods is a very exciting place to work. The crew there is very coperative and very accepting in positive leadership. I was the lead night cook and kitchen trainer where any typical night I would come in about 30 minets before my shift to prep ingediants for the day crew and then start my duties for the night shift. The type of cooking I was responsible for was specilized in the sense of caloire control and and bulk preperation and distribution. The recipies are very specific and taloured to the people who are health conscious and either need or desire a more nutritious alternitive to their diets. My coworkers I respect very much and consider them not unlike a second family, they work very hard and it was a blast working with them. The best part of My Fit Foods was working, very rewarding, every day when my shift was over me and my crew were always reluctant to go home. The hardest part of that job would have been being let go because the managment there is exceptional and always considerate of the teams needs without sacrifing resonsibility to our goals.

I ultimately chose to leave this company due to ongoing stress caused by poor management practices and an unhealthy work culture. While the work itself was manageable, the environment made it unsustainable.

Leadership consistently failed to provide support, clarity, or psychological safety. Employees were expected to perform at a high level while navigating constant tension, micromanagement, and a lack of accountability from management. Concerns were often dismissed rather than addressed, which created anxiety and burnout.

There was also a noticeable pattern of management attempting to control narratives and damage employees’ reputations once they expressed concerns or began the process of leaving. This made it difficult to feel secure or respected in the role.

I stayed longer than I should have, hoping conditions would improve, but the stress began to affect my mental and physical well-being. No job is worth that cost.

I would strongly caution prospective employees to carefully evaluate the leadership style and workplace culture before accepting a position here.

This job had the potential to be great I was very excited to start working here and meeting some cool people in a field I was new to with similar interests. That excitement quickly faded and even sucked the life out of me having to deal with the unbelievably toxic managers which I have never seen anything like before. Employees are not treated equally depending on who the manager’s favorites are and there is little to no opportunity for growth despite them stating otherwise.  Note that this isn’t high paying work and it should be relatively enjoyable and low stress however, that’s impossible with the high school type drama that goes on everyday. It also needs to be known that this is a sales position/customer service position far more than it has anything to do with health/fitness they will mislead you with the job title and posting. Every company is only as good as it’s management and the management here is a literal dumpster fire. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone unless I hated them

A Typical Day At My Fit Foods. This Company's concept is based on helping people live a healthy lifestyle. What My Fit Foods offer is healthy pre-made meals for any ones convenience. This Includes any meal of the day Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. What i do working front of the house would be to explain to people the concept and the health benefits and nutrition facts of the food. Usually driving people that want help maintaing health goals to get on a program My Fit Foods offers for people to lose weight, maintain body mass, gain muscle, etc. Sales is a big part of my job because of course we want to get people to buy food and do our program but also building relationships with clients is very much important also. I also do any street marketing by going around to gyms or businesses to inform them about the concept of my fit foods.  

Key Holder: Me being a key holder as well i open and close the store, close down registers, send off emails at the end of the night to corporate. Also entering information into excel through out the day.
