As an employee at NJCRI it was a definite change in roles and pace compared to my previous experience working in a corporate environment. However, it was very hard adjusting to working in a non-profit environment due to the low paying salaries and lack of advancement.
I enjoyed the community affairs my department particpated in and compiling data of HIV/STD statistics for CDC and I would have enjoyed being employed at NJCRI longer if my chances to make more money and advancement were greater.

If you work for the main campus good job, you chose the right place. However, if you were sent downtown, I have a warning for you. Run, run away fast. They have no idea what they are doing until the big boss shows up then they want to pretend like they are actually working. The project manager, if you even want to call them that has no sense of direction and is as focused as the wind. If you’re lazy, and want to watch anime all day then this is the place for you. If you have goals and dreams however, please stay away from here. You can do so much better.

I love the work that I do here at NJCRI!  The CEO has an open door policy for all employees! I have never experienced this with any of my previous employers.

I've been with the agency for 15 years! Seems like every big move in my life NJCRI has been apart of it. I'm very appreciative of all the time they have put into me. I don't have any blood family, but I have the staff at NJCRI. I've grown so much has a person over the past 15 yrs from working here, it's truly unbelievable. I'm so happy and blessed to be apart of such an amazing organization.

The culture of this establishment needs so much improvement starting with it’s CEO. I’ve waisted my time with such an attention leach! If you’re ideas to help better the company are better than his or any of his minions then you might as well quit. There are too many shady dealings that happen there. They care about numbers not people.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The atmostphere. Very supportive 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very busy growing enviriment. Keeping up with the changes.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hard working,  Client focused. Supportive team and fun enviroment

Here I assisted many people in making their day go as easy as possible. I mostly filed paperwork, conducted reviews, answered phones, and directed individuals to there proper destinations.

Experience is the key.

Nothing was stressful.

Love everything helping people was the best

Work culture is toxic and little opportunity for growth. Benefits are decent if that’s what you’re looking for.  As far as personal growth, don’t count on it,.

They advise the at-will policy for NJ. They are unorganized and unprofessional and don’t like when you point things out to try and better the organization. The youth is not the priority there and they have roaches!
