What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working for Newark Manor was being a companion for the residents. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company was understaffed which meant mostly everyone was in a sour mood and certain employees were extremely rude. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment had a balance of positivity and negativity. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Newark Manor depended on the position you held. As a hospitality aide, my days went smooth. However, because the CNA’s were understaffed their tasks were sometimes difficult for them.

A typical day at work is supposed to involve mopping, dusting, disinfecting tables and counters, cleaning bathrooms, and doing laundry. I was not given clear information on what my responsibilities were like I was supposed to be given when hired. I didn’t agree with mopping rooms while the elderly were walking around and dusting over peoples heads while they were sleeping under where I was dusting. The person training me did a really poor job so I was blindsided with my actual responsibilities when left on my own to do them. 

Favoritism runs deep for this facility usually for those who don’t do their job correctly. They don’t pay attention to what actually matters and are unappreciative of their HARD WORKING CNAS.  Most of the aide and nurses leave the floor for hours at a time and take breaks every hour leaving you left to do work without any assistance, and they get away with it due to favoritism. Not much help at meal times. Admin sits in the office and gossips about other staff all day. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
By far one of the worst nursing home I’ve worked at, under staff, never enough supplies fir the company in every department… 
If you put your loved ones in here ,the end goal is death, no recovery, just death 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Over worked ,when I asked for a day off they still find a way to get me in on a shift that’s not mines 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful

I had a great experience working here for years, but things have changed. CNAs disappear for over an hour at a time. I end up having to do serveral jobs at one time while doing my own. Nurses have been reported for being disrespectful and creating a difficult enviornment. It consistently feels like management does not take complaints seriously and dismiss behavior. I know I am a hard worker, but i constantly feel unappreciated. 

Everyone is very dedicated to our residents ,family members and fellow employees . I'm proud to be a part of Newark Manors team . Newark Manor cares deeply for their employees. I recently had a veey serious health issue and was showed exactly what the facility is about. They supported me and helped me thru a difficult time in my life. That means a lot to me .

The DON is very rude and will approve your vacation, and then call you and tell you you’re fired. I would not recommend this as a work place for anyone. Watch your back here. Everyone is toxic and they only care about themselves, not the residents that they’re supposed to take care of. You will be short staffed 90% of the time. 

Small facility but the staff really care about the residents. You really get to develop a relationship with the residents because you are not overwhelmed by the number of residents in your assignment. The management team is usually flexible with your schedule and always help out on the floors when needed.

Not a bad place overall better than some nursing home so have seen or herd of . It’s worth it . They work with you and are pretty understanding they also are flexible with making hours and sometimes Ofer over time .

I enjoyed working here, it was a helpful environment, friendly staff, and great hours. Management always tried to help with anything at all. The hardest part of my job there was I always ran out of time, the end of the day came quick. Now of course that was also the best part of the job.
