Everyday is a battle working here. You have to be consistent with your call outs and delivery. Most of the leads have been burnt through. When you first start your left only scraps of scraps to try and salvage. Majority of employees in my new hire class were gone in 6 weeks. The next half were gone 3 weeks after that. This process continued until there were only a few left. You would notice some favoritism. People getting thrown great lead opportunities, while others only have emails attached to them with fake numbers.  Management said they would get it fixed, but truthfully it was out of their hands. 

Waist of good leads. If you send a lead a referral form the lead then becomes the employees for the remainder of their life at Nexiva. Some of these leads haven't been contacted in 1-3 years. Due to their policy they are still off limits and if you close them then the employee who gave them the referral form gets paid instead of you.

People in the chat queues get more activity and are the ones dumping false leads into the pipeline. What makes these leads more unfair was that the lead would be placed in your name, but If the person who started the chat reached out to that person then the lead gets placed back in their name and your out of a new lead. 

I am a firm believer that the job is what you make it. I hate people blowing smoke about bad leads. Its sales and sometimes you don't have what it takes. 

Believe me when I say Nextiva is still a great place to work if you get a good start. Get clientele willing to refer. Mingle with management on how to improve your pipeline. Show them the type of leads your getting. Fight for equality. Its a mess but they pay great and always have incentives to try and keep you motivated. 

I feel like in the past Nextiva was a great place for sale reps to thrive because customers were curious but now the market is so polluted with off brands and cheap solutions its getting more difficult to bring in new leads or customers.

Just fight a good fight!

When I first started at Nextiva I was promised a ton of things, including advancement and job security. At first I personally did not feel ready to advance in the company because I did not feel I personally had a strong enough technology background to advance. After working there for roughly 5 months I changed my mind. I wanted to progress and grow with the company that I had begun to feel I was a part of the work family with. But the more I tried to advance the more I was held back. 
For the first 6 months of my job there my calls were not monitored and I was assured that I was doing a fantastic job. I had no escalations and very few cancellations. But when the management shifted so did the work environment. My calls were being held under a microscope finally and I was finally getting the feedback I needed to change the call flow. The problem was that I had already been told that everything I had been doing up to that point was perfect so it was a hard transition to get out of the habits that I was aloud to build from the start. 
When the management shifted the morale in the building went down. Nextiva no longer felt like a family, more like a corporate headquarter that it actually was. In the professional world this is a fantastic thing. For a company full of people that had been there for months, and even years, it was a startling change that lead to a lot of the company being terminated for things that the company previously looked over. 
I personally feel once everything is ironed out and they make the full transition into a corporate setting that there will be less issues, but in the transition time it was a nightmare that no one outside of upper management got paid enough to deal with.

Nextiva takes care of their employees. I have never received so much training at any of my previous jobs. I felt confident and well trained. On a typical day, I would come in at 5am when the support floor opened up its queue. Inbound calls from Nextiva clients varied from network trouble shooting and account management. On a daily basis I would trouble shoot routers, gateways, modems, run ping tests and speed tests. Also assisted customers with configuring routers and firewalls to optimize sound quality and network connectivity on the VoIP phones. I learned a lot about trouble shooting, remoting into networks, diagnosing internet service issues and sharpening customer service skills. Co-workers at Nextiva were friendly, smart and pleasant. The hardest part of the job was not being able to get a supervisor for a customer when they wanted to speak to one. There were never enough supervisors on the floor so they could take the escalated calls. If a supervisor was not available, I was instructed to set up a call back. When a customer would not get a call back, I felt like I failed the customer and lied to them. I told them that they would get a call back and they did not. It would make customers very angry. The most enjoyable part of my job was when I would resolve a problem for the customer. They are so happy and you can hear the relief in their voice. Most of my customers were small businesses and our phone system was their life blood. If the phones were not ringing, they were not making money. It is so satisfying.

Revolving door culture with excessive turnover at the management and sales level. When you have your own boss and other senior levels of management telling you what a mess Nextiva is, and that they have one foot out the door, it does not inspire confidence or a sense of security.  If I had truly known the level of chaos and dysfunction present, I never would have joined. And a note about being a caring culture who believes in work-life balance... It is an outright lie. The unspoken expectation is to work evenings and weekends to get the ever-changing level of work done. Everything is urgent, directives literally change every few days and you will never have enough time to get your work done effectively.

If you are looking for a company with a healthy work environment where your contributions and expertise are appreciated, the best advice I can provide is to look elsewhere. 

The thing that has stood out to me is that the leadership team are really hands on still, and even though it’s a big company now, they treat it like it’s still a small company and are not afraid to get involve. It’s really cool to see Managers and Directors getting involved and supporting the sales reps – it makes us feel appreciated and also is a good learning experience to see how they are thinking and how our job fits into the overall picture. The culture of the company and the vibe of the office space has a really nice feel to it, and it just feels like a good place to work.

I’m really pleased with how the role is going so far, and excited to be a part of the team and see what comes next. I think it’s great that as you’ve grown you haven’t lost the excitement of being part of the team, and still work hard and don’t act like you’re above any of us in the sense of being better than us. It feels more like everyone has a different job and when we all do our jobs well everything goes well. It’s great!

My manager was awesome at Nextiva, was definitely one of the best parts about working there. Within the department I was in, we all worked really closely. My manager kept us all working really well, and shared tasks out equally, and didn't show any favoritism. He was really easy to work with and great at communicating. Often other departments would look a bit hectic, but I always found Nextiva a very productive and enjoyable place to work.

Because things move so fast at Nextiva, your experience would very much depend on your manager. Because mine worked well under pressure I had a really good experience, but if you had a manager that did not work well under pressure or deal with changes, or be able to adapt, it would be quite different.

the communication between departments is so important, it would be great to see processes for this all solidified so that everyone continues to work cohesively as the business grows

The people who thrive at Nextiva are innovative, entrepreneurial, and scrappy. This is a larger tech corporation that still sees itself as a fast-paced startup. If you are willing to go all-in and find ways to solve problems proactively then you can carve your own path / define your own future here. Nextiva is always open to new ideas and roles. You may have to wear multiple hats in order to move the business forward while making your dream/idea a reality, but Nextiva will let you define your career here.

This is the fourth placed I've worked since graduating college and I would rate this as the best of all. I've never been a part of a company where there are more friendly people than egotistical-political-rude people. I don't know everyone in the office but it's nice and it's a relatively easy product to sell. It's a product that all businesses need, so it's my job to show the prospect why Nextiva is better than the competition. The sales team gets leads and that's better than cold calling but we can always use more leads. Quotas are fair. Business customers are cool and easy to work with.

I love working here. The culture is unlike any of my previous jobs. It's dynamic, fast-pacing, and a great work environment. It's a start-up vibe to it. Things more fast so if you're good you will be rewarded.

From the standpoint of my skills development, my managers and coworkers do their best to give me the best advice to improve my skills. This is my second sale's job, but I have learned a ton while working here in a short-time span. My skills are night and day different from when I first started. I'm more confident, friendly, and comfortable on the phone.

The ceiling to my potential is unlimited. I'm very eager to prove myself more at Nextiva, and thankful for this opportunity that I have been given .

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing, it was a terrible company. The worst training I’ve ever had. For a telecommunications company they were horrible with communication. Management was never on the same page, zero support from other departments and system error every day. Would never recommend anyone serious about their sales career to work here. Toxic environment. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything, communication, management always lying, not compensated for what we did. Managers were so out of the loop. Training was the worst I’ve ever had.
