I start my day by hitting the gym and sharing my workout / body progress with my accountability partners and coaches that push me to do better!! I get to see my kids off to school, then I jump on our morning call to get motivated and take some notes. Afterwards I check in with all of our directs and make sure we’re all set for the day, then I hit the field. I have learned since being here that it’s not titles or hype that makes people successful, rather it’s durability and activity. We have Integrity partners who have absolutely thrived in this industry that we have direct access to for coaching and guidance. Everyone believes in everyone, everyone supports everyone, we coach and we train to win. We coach and we train to be 1% better than the day before. The hardest part of being an agent early on is accepting the fact that this is the Super Bowl. This is the championship game, and it’s ALL on YOU. You will have resources. You will have training. You will mentorship. You will have systems in place to win. However, if you do well here it’s entirely your fault and based off of the activity and consistency you bring. If you don’t do well, it is also entirely your fault and is due to the lack of activity and the lack of accountability. No clocking in. No clocking out. No scheduled or timed lunch breaks. No asking to go to the bathroom. It’s on you. The hardest part of being a manager is wanting a life for other people more than they want it for themselves. The fact that we get warm leads and get to go see people who need help, and through our bulletproof process and presentation we get the job done. Building credibility, trust, value, and instilling confidence to our clients and their decision making; that is the best part of this job. To have a client come to tears and tell you that you were a blessing from God all because you held yourself accountable to get out of bed and trust the system is unmatched. I’m glad when I decided to get into insurance I joined the right organization the first time. 

They claim that you will make amazing money, but in reality you are completely tied to them. When you sign their contract, you are pretty much signing away your life. The people that we sell our policies to can barely afford their rent and in order to make any money in this company you have to aim to sell high so you can get a higher commission. The clients always end up canceling and now you have to work for free or pay them back thousands out of pocket for the money they advanced you for making the sale. The people at the top always pressure you to hire more people so they can make more money off of you. They specifically hire people who have no insurance knowledge/background because they will take advantage of you. Everyone in this industry either has racked up a bunch of debt or they get threats from the companies' higher up. Bosses will turn on you and manipulate you. The only successful people are the ones who are in the family. Do not apply if you don't enjoy clients calling you 24/7 and walking into crack houses to make a hundred bucks. Super dangerous and not worth it. 

I am a former insurance broker at NASB. The management is truly one of the best! They have one of the best cultures out of all of the IMO’s. The demographic they sell to is truly who needs it most. I’ve seen very few agents leave once they come here. But it is a decent amount of work in your first 90 days because of the learning curve. It is not for everyone, but people wanting more… this is the place to be. Charge backs will hit kind of hard your third month. But after that they get a lot better. About 15% fall off, you still profit 8k-12k after chargebacks and lead expenses. It just wasn’t for me. The industry as a whole will challenge your grit. As long as you grow with it, it will be very rewarding. I would recommend everyone to at-least try NASB, they are very transparent about what you’re getting into. They tell you that it will be the hardest-easy thing you will ever do. They’re not wrong. People think the ones at the top don’t do anything.. they’re dead wrong. The ones at the top work harder in the shadows than everyone else. I just wasn’t cut out for this line of work. 

I have been with NASB now for 2 years after working in corporate for 7+ years prior. I must say I will never go back to a salary role after my time here. There is a clear blueprint written out for first year agents to make six figures+ their first year in the business. The system is duplicatable and you are helping new families daily to make sure their life insurance needs are met, while getting paid very well for doing so.

Life Insurance is a recession proof industry where we never have a shortage of warm leads for us to visit. The training, leadership, and mentorship is what has kept me around the longest. There is no cap on my earnings and I have nearly doubled my income from year 1 to end of year 2. 

If you are a self motivated, hard working, and genuine person who can devote 40 hours a week consistently to the field, you will have nobody else to blame but yourself for not succeeding in this agency . 


The interview process was much friendlier than the actual work environment. Once you’re in, don’t expect much training, you’ll mostly be expected to figure it out while driving all over Alabama on your own dime. Questions often felt like an inconvenience instead of an opportunity to learn.

Leadership seemed to believe that intimidation builds successful agents. Group chats were full of “you’re either with us or against us” type messages, and anyone who spoke up was quickly shut down. Respectful communication didn’t seem to be a priority. I found myself wondering who holds leadership accountable, because the way people were spoken to would never fly in most professional workplaces with an HR department.

If you’re looking for mentorship, patience, and a healthy work culture, it’s not there, look elsewhere. However I’d recommend asking a lot of questions before accepting an offer.

Overall a great income source. Typically your day will start with a daily 8:30am 30min call that is mandatory to be on to report your numbers. If you accidentally miss the call you will hear from someone each and every time. You learn how to door knock someone house and use specific terminology to get your way in the door and once inside you will also be taught a presentation script of what to say to get people to buy a Life Insurance policy from you. Hardest part of this job is getting clients to stay on the books. Lots of products and or services are pushed at "seniors" all the time and sometimes they get conn'd into signing up for stuff then they later realize they didnt need it and they cancel. So the concept of building a huge book of business and getting paid on renewals of that book forever is unrealistic here. you will lose about 50% of the business you write so you must keep your new business HIGH

I’ve worked at North American Senior Benefits for over two years now and can truly say the company has changed mine and my family’s life. 

I go to work each day with the knowledge that the potential to make $1000-3000 in one day is there if I’m willing to following the proven system and put the Hard Work in. I’m also proud of the culture that’s been forged in this company that daily strives to put the client first.

I am currently in my 5th year here at NASB. The amount of growth I’ve experienced here is incredible. Financially I have increased my income on average by 30k per year and I have been able to make over 6 figures in the past three years. Before this I had NO sales experience. I attribute my growth to the supportive team culture and the awesome mentorship I’ve received here. Every individual in this organization is eager to help others succeed. I love that I work for an organization that genuinely love to spend time with each other.

The hardest part of this job is that it requires a great deal of self discipline. Good time management skills and a high level of grit. If you can learn those things this job is extremely rewarding. The products we offer actually help people and their families!

Please be aware!!! They are going to sign you up with a huge chunk of the major carriers. I will explain why that is a negative, shortly. Training is literally you knocking on doors for 3 days, then being told to go out on your own. After a  couple of weeks you will have to buy your own leads. They are going to encourage you to work from 10 to 12 hour days . You are a 1099 contractor. No benefits.  And more importantly, what they do not tell you is you have a 6 month contract that you must sign with them that states that you cannot work with any carrier that they sign you up with for at least 6 months. They are going to refuse to release you to be able to work with any other insurance brokerage for the 6 months you signed up for. 

Listen,
I understand insurance is a cut throat job. But there are better ways to handle things then this company does. If you have to deceive clients to get into their homes. Then maybe you aren't meant to be in the industry. Clients deserve the truth. Clients deserve better and so do you. You shouldn't have to be deceptive. 
The managers do fein some resemblance of caring but the difference is a manager who actually cares listens. Not one of those in sight with this company.  After the CEO you can tell the rest  dont care about anything besides the money. 
The money is the only great part of this job besides meeting amazing elderly clients who are scared and just want you to walk them through it so they can pick and know as well
