Working at Northeast Security has been an absolute nightmare from day one. The upper management is not just terrible; they're downright atrocious. Their complete disregard for employees' well-being and professional growth is astonishing and disheartening.

One of the most egregious policies enforced by Northeast Security is their draconian stay policy. Employees are expected to endure unbearable conditions without any possibility of respite. It's a demoralizing cycle that leads to burnout and resentment.

The incompetence of site supervisors only adds to the chaos. These individuals lack basic leadership skills and fail to support their teams effectively. As a result, there's a constant stream of employees leaving, leading to a perpetual state of turnover that undermines productivity and morale.

Vacations and holidays are non-existent luxuries at Northeast Security. Employees are expected to sacrifice their personal time without any consideration for their well-being or work-life balance. It's a clear indication of the company's utter disregard for its workforce.

Furthermore, Northeast Security's willingness to maintain relationships with unethical clients is deeply troubling. Employees are forced to compromise their values and integrity to appease these clients, creating a toxic and morally bankrupt work environment.

In conclusion, Northeast Security is a company to avoid at all costs. It's a place where employees are treated as disposable commodities, subjected to incompetent management, exploitative policies, and unethical practices. Save yourself the misery and seek employment elsewhere.

A typical day at work for Northeast Security as a security officer is pretty strait forward. You show up, punch in and then follow your training procedures as they were taught to you. Mostly you will either be sitting at a desk monitoring video feeds from CCTV cameras around a clients building or you will be standing or sitting doing more concierge type duties. 

     The main thing to consider when thinking of management is the fact that they are always willing to work with you given that you are doing your best as a reliable officer. They believe heavily in promotion from within the company so the chances of being noticed and bumped up the ranks is much higher than a lot of other security companies. The hardest part of the job is learning the procedures which fluctuate based on where each officer is assigned. Usually the Account Manager will guide you until you are comfortable enough with them though so its not a huge set back at all. Plenty to choose from as well seeing as we have over 200 sites and clients in Boston and the surrounding areas. 

Finally the most enjoyable experience I personally can vouch for with this particular company is how great they are to their employees. They take the time to help you out and work with you with all sorts of life events. You can see very blatantly that you will be taken seriously and that they consider their employees as more than just their assigned identification number. Join Northeast security and you will see the difference between them and every other security firm out there.

Worked here for almost a year at the 200 Clarendon building in back bay and cannot stress this enough if given a job here stay away. Management is an horrendous. They are lazy do not care about you and will not help you or work with you. This is also not a security role no matter what they try to tell you. You will be in a suit smiling and welcoming people and doing “patrol” which is walking up and down the lobby in a suit. It’s hot it’s miserable. You stand all day except for when you are able to sit for 30 minutes at the computers to check people in. They do not work with you. The people I work with on various shifts are amazing and so that makes the day go better but I am actively looking to leave. I cannot speak on other sites but this site is a horrible. The people in management are the laziest people I have ever met they will not help you. They would rather you pick up a double shift then let you leave early. In January I had an appointment and had to leave early and they did not let me and made a big deal about it. It’s idiotic the way they run things. I had a better experience working at rebook as a kid than I did working at this dump. Never again. Please again if you apply to this role spare yourself this is a super quick gig if you need it but don’t stay for a month. The job is not mentally stimulating you pretty much get paid to stand and look around and greet people. Overall stay away from 200 Clarendon in Back Bay if you apply and get hired for a site. For other sites they could be better just make sure when you do apply you ask for a real security role. All the best.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving! The upper managers in the company think they are the FBI and they treat security work like it's the most important thing on the planet. My supervisor and my manager didn't know the first thing about security and they were more than happy to place the blame on anyone but themselves. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with your upper management, supervisors, having managers wanting to constantly get rid of people without having replacements ready so as to not have an unreasonable workload forced upon their employees. Managers not wanting to step up and fill in missing positions even though it falls to them to fill those positions.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Backstabbing and dog eat dog. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up on time and call the main office to check in. Show up to your post and stand your post and hopefully none of your supervisors or managers are in a bad mood that day because you can get written up for anything no matter how big or small. Then if everything goes according to plan and no one messes up and the stars have aligned hopefully you can call the main office to punch out. Then you get to get up rinse and repeat........sounds fun right?

A typical day at work can become pretty redundant but you meet a lot of good people, mostly professionals with you may find to be a good network. Most work sites are pretty relaxed as long as you keep in mind that there is always work to do. Even on the quite days. The minute you allow yourself to slip up is when something is bound to happen ie. fire alarm, intrusion, disgruntled visitor, slip and fall medical emergencies. This job is great for college student and pretty much anyone who is looking for second job. It's security but you have to have great customer service skills in or to succeed in this business otherwise you would hate it. The Co-worker vary depending on site. Most, are I find are focused level headed individuals working towards a bigger purpose. High turn overs are the result of people unwilling to perform their jobs. The hardest part of the job for some is maintaining a professionalism at ALL times. It's easy to forget your role but If you truly have great work ethics advancement in this company is easy.

Working there can be for the most, alright. Just the type of people you work with. I learned to not allow anyone make me feel like I was nothing. I just walked out. The Manager was nice and comprehendible. Just the Supervisor. Everyone left because of him. Every one else was nice. The hardest part was standing and walking for too long in the heat or in the cold. Plus, inspecting things that you could not really focus on, was enough for the day. The worse part was the way they trained you. Mad and with such a tone, just wanting to go home. I don't blame them but in order to maintain a good working environment, you must be willing to work with people. It's called team work. If you are lucky and work with friendly people, you are in the right place. If not, and you are stuck with a 19 year old, not wanting to train and act like he should be feared, then walk out. Even if the Managers or Supervisors are younger than you, they should know what respect is. They should also understand that everyone is different and have personalities. This Supervisor just wanted to be serious and took things way too seriously. That's great. But that is just not being a person in which anyone would look forward to work with.

I was directly responsible for meeting with clients on a weekly basis to resolve client/tenant security issues/requests. I managed, motivated, and trained a 24/7 staff of over 35 Security Guards, and maintain 24/7 hour on-call status.
I was a consult on building security issues and conducted building/tenant site analysis with recommendations, to include building surveys. I assisted the property management group in the management of the properties, by proposing new policies, procedures and equipment. I was also responsible for overseeing and troubleshooting the installation of security equipment, initiating and coordinating on-site investigations. I also managed the One federal building during the Democratic National Convention along with federal Agencies and Police Authorities.

A common thing that isn't often discussed in security is the times when overtime is mandatory. One may be hired to work at a site say for example 3-11 but then have to work up to an additional 8 hours if your relief (the 11-7 person) doesn't show up. In this scenario the only time that extra shift will count as overtime pay is if you've already worked 40 hours that week. This means if you're a part time employee you would only be paid your regular rate for working those extra hours. Another scenario when overtime is mandatory is in the event of extreme weather. A few years ago we had a snow storm so bad our public transportation system was shut down for 2 days. During that whole period I was on the clock as no one had a way to get to work or go home. Despite that circumstance I still had to show up for my regularly scheduled shifts after the public transportation system resumed service.

The worst security company I've worked for. Completely inept cross the board. If I could give it less than 1 star I would! I can't say much more than other people have said, but the woman who answers the call line overnight is a complete Jerk! Got mad and hung up the phone without signing me in all because she was too lazy to get up and look at her computer! Then wouldn't answer the phone when the site supervisor called! Then last week, I had my job threatened by a woman in HR 5 days after I got an email from the other person in the HR department giving me 30 days to get the same document in. Nobody there knows what they are doing, but because they underbid everyone else, they get contracts. There's an old saying that goes " You get what you paid for " I would STRONGLY advise any building manager thinking of switching security companies to AVOID this group of people, I can't even call it a company, at all cost!  

What I enjoy about my time at Northeast Security is the communication level and the support I receive from the upper management at Northeast Security. You are given the opportunity and resources to succeed. Northeast does a great job promoting internally for mid-senior-level roles they have open. The company wants to see its employees grow and expand their careers. 

This isn't negative but how the working culture is will depend on the property you oversee as AM. It will come down to the AM leadership and management styles. Some places are great to work in some will be very transitional. Expect Many clients to be demanding and it's very important to show results right away.   The management at Northeast Security are great and they will try their best to help the employees succeed.
