What is the best part of working at the company?
Co-workers are mostly all very friendly and our HR team is pretty awesome at trying their very hardest to create events that make us, as employees feel valued and appreciated. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The demand of what is constantly needing to be done around the clock and only having our department work day shifts and few swing shifts is hard because no matter how hard we work there is always more that needs attention. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There are was too many things to insert here as an answer but for the most part this company does provide a positive atmosphere but certain departments lack to respect for other departments at times. Example nursing not treating the MHT’s with an equal respect as they do with other nursing staff. MHTs not treating maintenance or housekeeping with respect as they do amongst one another. It’s not ALWAYS like that but a lot of the employees have this attitude about them I’m not even sure they recognize! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. My department is a very positive atmosphere usually. Lots of laughs and a team of individuals who help each other out as much as possible which makes the day go by so smoothly!

What is the best part of working at the company?
I enjoyed facilitating groups during my internship.  I met some very nice people and earned more than enough hours towards getting my degree.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I did not enjoy working as a discharge planning case manager because most of the time I got cases where people couldn't go back to their home and I would have to find them another placement in such little time.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and culture for the most part was great. I met some very nice people there. People would always speak to me and open doors for me. There were a few co-workers that were gossiping and being unprofessional. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would come into work , check messages and emails and get ready the  clinical meeting. After that, I would go back to my office and work on my cases.

I would not recommend this employer based on my experience as a Mental Health Technician. The hospital experienced frequent staff turnover, including repeated changes in nursing leadership, which contributed to inconsistent management and communication. I observed poor communication, inadequate training, favoritism, and workplace practices that created an unsafe and unsupportive environment for both staff and patients. In my opinion, the organization appeared to prioritize financial performance over employee well-being and patient care. The lack of support for staff was reflected in the workplace culture and high turnover rate. Overall, I would encourage prospective employees to carefully consider these factors before accepting a position.

I started working as a new grad at NCBHS's Santa Rosa hospital and have always felt supported by my coworkers and management. 
You may have to work in a busy unit with up to 19 patients, but I think that the company has implemented a sound support system.
You have access to a circulating resource RN, a House Charge RN, an admissions department RN, and a dedicated medication nurse when the unit has more than nine patients.
The pay is satisfactory, and there are many opportunities to work overtime.  The work culture is excellent and embraces cultural diversity.
My coworkers are very friendly and resourceful, and the schedule is also great. 
I highly recommend NCBHS as an employer.



This company also runs Sacramento behavioral healthcare hospital and the hospital in Santa Rosa formerly known as Aurora Santa Rosa. Lots of corporate re-branding, but the problems remain.

As a profit-driven hospital, the management culture doesn’t necessarily value employees. They will try to take advantage of you, so be on guard and speak up. Pay isn’t too bad and if you can put up with the video surveillance and shenanigans it is an ok place to work for a while. Some parts of the hospitals may improve, we will see. Know that psych can be a dead end for nurses. If you try it and may want to work on other areas don’t stick around.

Poor management, understaffed, no organization,. Protocols change every day.

Poor management, favoritism, staff constantly leaving. Understaffed, hospital only cares about the money. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
This hospital staff  has the absolute lowest moral I have ever seen in any hospital I have worked in. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and frustrating. Always unbelievable events putting patients as the last consideration.

Was excited for my position. Overtime it became obvious that certain directors only cared for themselves. I saw and witnessed staff terrified of their bosses specifically on clinical teams. I felt bad as so many people would be crying. Staff would just disappear one day and you wouldn’t be told what happened. We went into lockdown twice and were never told why. Initial assessments were poorly done and even at times there’d be lapse in holds or the person wasn’t properly medically assessed. I stayed as long as I could for coworkers then bounced

What little staff there are…all are knowledgeable and professionals- leadership is inexperienced and it shows-

Staffing and supplies were always in short supply.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
High turn over of staff and administration. Profit driven- lack basic training, and on-boarding. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Constant short-staffing, with high acuity patients

Working at SRBHH has been more bad days than good. Staff is spread very thin (2 
RN's per unit that can have 20+ pts). The high acuity units experience frequent codes caused by assaultive behavior (either patients fighting each other or aggression towards staff). The lower acuity units can have up to 25 patients creating in an environment that is loud and has a high turnover rate (several of admits and discharges during each shift). Management makes many promises of improvements but few ever occur. Only bright side of this job is competitive pay and good team work mentality between RN's and MHT's.

Unsupportive management, consistently understaffed with high acuity census, not retaining staff through hiring incentives, ( because the money is nice but being treated with respect and appreciated is better). By neglecting the staff the patients are neglected and not really getting help or the care they deserve. It’s been this way and nothing anyone says get them to change the culture of this hospital.
