My experience at Orchard Hospital has been challenging due to a lack of initial training and clear job expectations. Upon starting, I found myself handling numerous tasks without proper guidance, leading to a stressful environment where many colleagues expressed dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, positive recognition for my efforts was absent, and I never received a clear timeline for my responsibilities. The workplace culture lacked a sense of respect, contributing to an overall disheartening experience. Even when I raised concerns through complaints, there was a noticeable lack of follow-up or resolution. This has impacted my job satisfaction and professional growth, highlighting areas where improvement is crucial for creating a more supportive and effective work environment at Orchard Hospital.

Horrible management, huge turn over rate, there is no hope for increase in pay or promotion. This hospital is great for one who finishes school and needs a job, but once you have some experience under your belt, there are so many neighboring hospitals that are willing to pay and give you way better benefits for your skills.

Working in the ER is scary! No security and a lot of very upset patients. Patients come from Rideout, Enloe, and Oroville expecting miracles! Patients want service now and we only have 1 doctor and 2 nurses. Most of the nurses are inexperienced and I’m sure the CEO would love to have them care for him when he is coding and they don’t know what to do. The pay is horrible ( lowest in the area.) Staff has to work with minimal supplies because of budget cuts. Of course hiring freezes! The list goes on and on!

Good place to start a career as a new head but need to move on within 2 years. M 90% of staff have 2 years or less in nursing and limited amount of patients but the variety of patients is limited. At least 50% of admitted patients are transferred as Orchard doesn’t have provider specialist I e cardiology nephrology pulmonologist obstetrics pediatrics. Strokes  cardiac arrests and trauma all go to Enloe. Everything else is transferred to any hospital willing to accept the patient. Usually a hospital in Sac 

Typical day was watching other employees who couldn't afford decent scrubs, the parking lot is filled with older cars that should have been a clue as to the low wage offered. But what was the worst was I wouldn't be able to afford the insurance benefits to cover my family and would have to do as the other employees and apply for ObamaCare. Not worth changing time for money at this hospital. I have 25 years experience and offered a wage as an unskilled employee.

This is a critical access hospital with a swing program. RN ratio 1:5. Always short staffed and lately many days without CNAs. Horrible communication. 401k is not match and insurance isn't great. Many of the docs are Inexperienced or don't seem to care about patients or nursing issues. Management in acute carenside tries but meets with hurdles from administration. Morale is low. Food is great and staff are friendly

If you love being a generalist in healthcare and being part of a team and organization where everyone knows your name and works hard everyday to provide excellent health care in an engaged community, this is the place for you. Great opportunities for advancement and ability to work in multiple environments.

This is a negative work environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Negativity. Very small town clikish attitides. Really don't like new people.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. Nonsupportive to new staff.

Small community but varied clientele.
Was given many opportunities to learn, especially wound care. 
I also floated to an attached SNF for 3 months to help fill in for nurse that passed away.
Worked with some very good nurses and MDs.

If I could give a negative rating I would, management is the worst I’ve ever experienced, favoritism and bullying employees is everyday no raises, 4 paid holidays and a work load that is worse than I’ve ever experienced, they don’t care about their employees
