I showed up. I dressed appropriately. Asked questions and listened. Before my training was completed the trainer that trained me told her manager she did not feel I was going to succeed so before I could even get on the phones they terminated my position.

They hired me two months after interviewing me to fill a temporary position in the Broker department.  The money was too good to pass up and had potential for permanent so I left the current temp position I was in for what I thought was a better opportunity.

I got there on a Monday and was given a thick manual and a broken and stained chair. I looked for an empty cubicle to swap out my broken chair for one that had a working armrest.  Three days later, I was told this was one of the reasons I was terminated.

I do not know how someone could be deemed a "bad fit" for a company without even having the chance to do the job.  

Day one I was greeted by the manager who hired me and she looked at me oddly ( looking back, perhaps she got me confused with another applicant?).  Then I was directed to a large, overbearing, man lesbian.  Rainbow everything, even sneakers.  I tried not to be offended by the "carpet muncher" reference she had prominently displayed with her My Little Pony figurines on her desk.  Everyone else in the call center was in their early 30s, spanish, gay or black.  I am late 40s, straight so that may have played into it.  I did go into the position with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.  But I figure I was not the type they were looking for.

I read the other reviews and I kept an open mind.  Now I have no job and no income. If anyone is considering taking a temp job with them,just make sure you physically meet the above criteria, and if you make it past the first week and they don't let you go during training, you may have a chance.

•	Deliver Projects for Commercial Insurance Policy Issuance production systems.
•	Deliver and manage in a timely manner, small enhancement projects to meet business requirements
•	When assigned to a Key Project, work as part of the wider team to deliver the project requirements as per agreed scope, including writing functional specifications, system configuration and build, test planning and execution, training documentation and delivery, and contributing to on time and in budget Application deliverables and goals.
•	Ensure assigned deliverables meet any expected standards for supporting Insurity Policy Insurance system.
•	Where appropriate ensure required Regressions testing takes place on the project deliverables within the Release cycle.
•	Deliver projects transition into support, ensuring that all areas of transition are covered.
•	Support Defect Resolution during project and Warranty period of Key Projects; ensure early escalation of issues when identified.
•	Manage delivery of day to day ongoing support, resolving tickets and actively monitoring ticket queues including escalation within and outside IS when warranted.
•	Involved in recommending decisions or resolutions, pro-actively on tickets assigned to the Functional area
•	Manage own prioritization and address any conflicting priorities.
•	Provide Root Cause Analysis where needed and be involved in recommending resolution of root causes.
•	Co-ordination with any 3rd party where necessary on day to day support activity

TIME WASTER! Told there'd be 4-6 weeks of training--NOT.  What a joke, I was only there 1 week!  I couldn't think of a better way to sabotage a career.

It took them three days just to give me security access to the building?!  The rest of the week I was there they never even straightened out the security access issues at my workstation so I could focus on learning without a myriad of other complications.

Meanwhile, I was given a workstation, barely cold from the last departee, with a urine stained chair, complete with a torn armrest that someone obviously clawed through out of tension and stress.  

IT'S ALL ABOUT NUMBERS, processing Workman's Comp. Claims in 2 completely different, clumsy computer software systems. 

They hire with or without medical coding training/experience when in reality they're grasping at production straws.  IF YOU'RE NOT 100% comfortable working a production job with medical codes coming out of your butt, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

From Day 1 you're thrown into the fire, with a 45 page hodge podge, amateurish manual full of acronyms with no decipher key.   What they call training is more like mind numbing monotony.  You'll work for breaks and to run out of the door at shifts end.

Then they tell your contract agency you don't catch on fast enough?!

They can take that job and shove it!!!

The application process was very easy to complete.  The interview process was refreshing as I talked to real people who wanted to hear about my wants and needs and were straight forward with the job expectations.  From the moment I accepted the offer from PMA, everything has been streamlined.  I've never been in the dark regarding next steps.  The lines of communication between management and employees are wide open.  The initial training program was like nothing I ever experienced before at any other company.  It was a classroom setting and was so informative and hands on with some assignments.  Questions were encouraged.  The training group was a decent size to where you actually got to know your co-workers by name.  The presenter had endless energy.  After I completed training and received my desk work, I knew exactly how to tackle the day-to-day items.  My team is very close knit, and we all work together to keep everything moving, including when issues arise.  My favorite part of the job is being there for my clients and having the knowledge to help them with anything they need.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I’ve never worked for a company that is so employee-focused—it’s a refreshing change from my previous employers. Our team is always willing to support one another, and there’s a noticeable absence of drama, politics, or passive-aggressiveness. The sense of genuine teamwork here is something new and incredibly valuable to me. I truly can’t say enough positive things about PMA—it’s been the best career move I’ve ever made.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful aspect of working at PMA is streamlining and adapting to new processes, especially with changes occurring across multiple areas.

I applied to PMA after my husband was relocated to Syracuse.  On the surface all looks wonderful.  They welcome you with open arms and you think you are entering this awesome company that really has a grip on how to do things.  Then you start working and the nightmare unfolds.  My particular supervisor was a narcissist and so full of himself, he couldn't even begin to see the error of his ways.  He made every day a living nightmare for me until he finally succeeded in causing me to quit.  I left there scarred and beaten down.  Complaining to HR does nothing but target you as a problem employee so don't make the mistake of bothering to complain... nothing will get done.. they will just appease you on the surface while they work behind the scenes to make sure they get you out of there. Most of my co-workers were great but the company doesn't get credit for that.... their supervisors and other people in control are not monitored or managed and can get away with treating people any way they choose with little or no recourse..

Extreme favoritism.  If you speak up, management will crush you like a bug.  They only want YES people.  Unmanageable caseloads for "some".  Supervisors are Facebook friends with "some".  The most hypocritical management team I have ever seen.    

If you worked 24/7 you would still not be able to keep up with their demands and they will dump other peoples messes on you to clean up.  Unrealistic goals and so much red tape that the government would be envious.  

They make promises to clients that the adjuster is unable to deliver, setting the adjuster up for failure.  

Management is dishonest to say the least.  They are so desperate to bring in new clients, they will lie to make the sale.  Micro-micro management of every little detail.  

If you are fortunate to get an annual raise, at best it will be around 1.5%.  

When I started with them they were good company but they have now outsource their billing company. Since then it has been a nightmare the billing company does not know what they are doing and it's only causing major problems that they expect to customer service to "fix". Management is handling it's very poorly expecting the problem to fix itself. Providers are calling in very upset and or confused. You got to work from home which is nice but apparently the company has installed software to allow them to view your monitor at all times to ensure you are working. So big brother is watching - but who's monitoring management. 
This place is going to sink in burn fast if they don't recognize their. But it doesn't really seem they care because as you know it's all about the profit.

This could have been a good place had the higher ups that hired some of the managers did a better screening process. I was hired as a temp, was promoted to permanent. but that changed my pay scale, I told them multiple time over several months they were over paying me, I finally gave up. When the difficult manager figured it out I got wrote up for not reminding them more. I had email submission to back up my intent to notify has been executed properly and more times then I should have had to.
