When I first joined PURE, I was excited and optimistic about the company’s potential. I was made to feel like this was a company where I could truly grow and contribute. However, my experience quickly turned out to be quite different than I had expected. I received just over a week of training and was then expected to perform at the same level as those who had undergone months of preparation. Even the more experienced team members struggled with the expectations set for us.

After being sent back to square one, I thought things would improve, but a subsequent conversation with my manager and team lead left me feeling disheartened. They mentioned that they were “worried” about my performance at first, but that I had improved significantly. To hear that after putting in extra hours, without any additional compensation or recognition, was incredibly disheartening.

There were also significant concerns around the workload. During the holidays, I was expected to work through the Christmas season, while others were given time off, with no extra pay for overtime. It was frustrating to see a shortage of staff, particularly with the skeleton crew we had during this time. The expectation to handle a workload meant for 20 people was unreasonable.

The company also failed to acknowledge the efforts of many employees. Despite receiving positive feedback from members and working diligently, it seemed like nothing was ever enough. There were inconsistencies with how promotions were handed out, with some people being promoted despite not meeting the metrics that were set for the rest of us. This left me feeling undervalued and frustrated.

Overall, this work environment has become toxic. The unrealistic expectations and lack of recognition for hard work have made it increasingly difficult to stay motivated. Unfortunately, I’ve made the decision to leave. I wanted to provide this feedback, even though I suspect it might not lead to any change. It’s important to me that my experience is heard, as this is not the company I thought I was joining when I first came on board.

I have always spoken highly of PURE, and not just because 'I work here'. What stands out the most to me since the day I started in a services associate role, to now in leadership, is the culture. Whether remote, or hybrid in-office, PURE does a phenomenal job at making sure each individual feels included. There are endless opportunities to be a part of an E.R.G., mentor circles, sign up for a passion course, etc. Not to mention office/virtual group hosting happy hours, co-worker coffee, birthday lunch outings, catered weekly lunches in-office, office engagement activities, etc. The list of benefits is endless and it truly shows how much they care about maintaining a healthy workplace environment. I also can't go without mentioning the level of flexibility PURE offers which goes to show the value they place on work/life balance and mental health.

PURE is a great company to work for if you are looking to develop your career, challenge yourself, and enjoy collaborating and working with others. There are endless opportunities to grow your personal brand in order to advance your career here. 

A typical day at work consisted of identifying and setting appointments with prospective Personal Lines high net worth agents/brokers throughout the Rocky Mountain Region which consisted of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming & Montana.  In addition, I would work with an existing agency plant to provide training, set goals, collaborate on marketing events and instill confidence when selling PURE products and services. 

PURE is a proactive, innovative company that truly aligns itself with its members.  The hardest part of the job was the travel which was extensive.  The most enjoyable part of the job was appointing and onboarding agents/brokers to get them engaged to write business with PURE quickly.  

The employees at PURE are truly willing to support and assist with anything!  It's a true collaborate team effort throughout all Regions.

Being that this was my first position after college, I felt the company was far more superior and than most others in terms of community, however, be prepared to work extremely hard in the MA position. Lots of different computer software will be involved, and there will definitely PLENTY of disgruntled members (and their agents too). There's many members that are amazing to work with, but because member's must technically be wealthy in order to be insured under the company, they don't like hearing the word "no" even if you tell them what they're about to do will go against their contract and company policy. Be prepared for ridiculous arguments and situations with them as you may be in for a rude surprise.

Other than that, the company itself is great, but pay can be better in comparison to the workload. They also provide free lunch pretty much twice a week your coworkers are AWESOME!

The company welcomes you prior to start date. You get flown out to New York for training. You are provided your own equipment and can "work from home" when needed, just be prepared to be frowned upon if you do so. The culture, atmosphere, and management in NY are great but AZ needs work. Out of all the offices, AZ is the only one who has lost so many people in Member Services.
Management is disorganized and incompetent. There is no structure and everyone does things different. For call audits if three different managers grade the same call you will get three different scores, some may even pass you while others fail you. Overall, there is a lot of work to be done, and most people who aren't managers are extremely unhappy. Everyone needs to get on the same page higher up, so that associates be happy with some consistency while other things get improved upon.

PURE's culture almost seemed 'too good to be true', however, I can confirm that working at PURE has been exactly as described during the interview process. Every day at work feels less like 'clocking in' and more like contributing to the membership and a company that is dedicated to delivering exceptional service. PURE provides a range of benefits, promotes a healthy work-life balance for its employees, and has extremely approachable leadership. I feel less like a number and more like a valued member of the team at PURE! 

I am working as a Temporary at Pure for a complicated and tight project regarding legal compliance and data validation. My responsibility is to generate master spreadsheets for the IT department through communicating with sales managers and looking for relevant data in our system.

I also work closely with the legal team and they are very nice people. Give me clear instructions and  it is an excellent opportunity for me to understand the State law in the insurance industry.

Imagine working for a company IN INSURANCE that preaches mental health and work-life balance but in the event of a tragedy, they switch up. Imagine working for a company that promotes inclusivity when they single you out if you’re not the top performer. Goodluck climbing the invisible ladder if you aren’t best friends with everyone. If you want to work for a company who pretends to care about you, work here! You’re just a number on a sheet in HR. The benefits are just a way to reel you in, suck you dry, and lay you off.

PURE has been an amazing overall experience. I was new to the industry when I started at PURE and the training I received in my first role was second to none. The culture of PURE is very welcoming and energetic. Management is set up not only to support their staff, but also to make sure they develop the skills to move up. I am very glad I continue to work at a growing company that wants to develop it's people. 

There was a lot of turnover in management in the region. With a small office of less than 10 people this can lead to some serious friction especially with the managers moving into the region from elsewhere. Everyone was friendly and upbeat. I was never worried to go to work with the good environment and free snacks.
