What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working for Paramount  was the creative, supportive, and diverse company culture fostered by excellent leadership and overall positive atmosphere at every stage of the project. One of the most rewarding work experiences in my career. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
One of the most interesting aspects of working with so many unique personalities is the ability one develops over time in order to maintain a productive work environment that caters to the day-to-day as necessary. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Creative, diverse, supportive. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
At the top of the work day I'd start out by checking in with the production assistants and go over which scene will be the primary focus of the day. After checking in, depending on the work day's needs- I'd head over to wardrobe /  hair and makeup to make sure everything is to standard. After being led to set by PA's, there is typically a period of standby while the crew readies the scene (rehearsal with talent, camera prep, blocking, lighting, sound). Once the scene was ready to be shot, we'd go through each take until it met with the director's expectations. Depending on the demands of the shoot day, we'd typically break for a meal period and repeat the scene for turnaround and coverage until the production wrapped. Before leaving, we'd check out with the PA's who would then log hours worked for the day as well as distribute union vouchers.

Working on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles was truly an exciting and rewarding experience. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent more than 20 years collaborating with talented, dedicated people and contributing to meaningful work. During that time, I learned a great deal and was proud of what we accomplished together.

Over the years, however, company restructuring, mergers, and shifts in management significantly impacted morale and altered the direction of the studio. I had the privilege of seeing Paramount at its best, which made it especially difficult to witness the uncertainty that followed. Ultimately, I was let go during a period when the company seemed to be trending further downward.

It’s my hope that Paramount rediscovers a clear vision for its future—one that honors its brand, rich history, and immense potential. Strengthening and elevating what already exists may prove far more valuable than continued expansion efforts that risk further job losses and the departure of talented people. Paramount has always had the foundation to lead the industry; I sincerely hope it finds its way back to the top.

A real learning experience for me.
I grew from Executive Secretary, to Accounting, to Customer Service &
Data Entry Sales Orders.. I learned JD Edwards, SAP, and various
Departmental computer skills and functions as needed for job. I learned new methods and dutiesas ti me went on to expertize my skills as Executive Assistant, to Accounting Assistant,to Customer Service and Salesm including heavy data entry. I moved around in jobs at Paramount the past 27 years while I was there. I worked as a team player where needed and I have great interpersonal skills. I am a professional on the
job and expect all others to be professional workers. I work well with
Management and internal staff.
I love being a self-starter and indepedent on the job force.
The far distance to my job was the hardest part of my job since the
traffic could always be mostly unpredictable. I would now prefer to
work closer to home mostly for family and if any emergency situations
should occur.
No problem with co-workers - I get along well.

As a Production Assistant a typical day included considerably more effort in regards to preparation for the day and executing the duties assigned to me.    I learned the intricacies of on set production first hand in this position.   Most of my duties included coordinating background artists or letting talent know when we were rolling, needed quiet on the set etc.   There were times I also distributed the daily script segments to the talent involved in these productions.   Set construction and deconstruction was also a part of this job.
The management was composed of the directors and Assistant directors who were a pleasure to work for.

A typical day at Paramount (when working background)  included arriving on set at the designated time and prepping with the wardrobe department and waiting for shooting to commence.   Depending on the film or television program travel throughout Los Angeles was at times necessary to perform said duties.   The hardest part of this job was if anything, the travel.    The most enjoyable part of this job was certainly spending my work day with so many creative and talented people. 



People are generally nice to work with, however there are people with a generally bad attitude or out to make themselves look better at the expense of others (aka 2 faced). It is also the only place that will spend 100k to figure out they dont want to spend 10k. On top of that, a good % of people have a hidious attitude. You can see people who hide from work daily and others that genuinely try to make a difference yet they all get rewarded the same. Kind of destroys the mindset of anyone trying to do the right thing. Waste money....oh boy can they waste money. 
In a matter of a few years it takes its toll and you dread going to work. They also track you everywhere you go via your badge. The place is not very condusive to a family life, unless you maybe live in Hollywood.

The page program is made up of amazing pages who truly want you to succeed, and you will make friends for life - however, it's just a tour guide program at the end of the day. Do not expect anything more than giving tours, at least for the first year.

Management holds back the program by utilizing favoritism, non-verbally punishing people for mistakes (which take the form of less shifts, disqualifications from being trained in other job functions, etc.), and expecting you to have full availability / making Paramount your #1 scheduling priority, even though it's a part-time job. If you upset them or put them in a position where they have to actually work, they will remember it and non-verbally punish you accordingly. You also don't get any insurance benefits since it is a part-time role, so morale gets pretty low pretty fast.

A typical day: trouble shooting both hardware and software with various clients around the studio. Contacting various vendors for parts and supplies to complete the clients request.

I learned how to use lots of resources to get the job done.

My co-workers were the absolute best. They were fun. I was able to relate to all of them. We got along great. We hung out. They were smart and intelligent. I love them.

moving filthy dirty equipment was a pain at times, bu it had to be done.

The enjoyable part about the job was being working with my coworkers and brain storming how to fix an issue. I liked working as a team. Every one was on the same page. and willing to help get the job done. And i loved the theater.

Paramount Pictures is a world-renowned film studio which makes the marketing department an exciting and dynamic place to work.  I've worked on all of the campaigns for Paramount films starting with Labor Day in 2013.  I work in the Creative Content department, where we create featurettes, pull clips for publicity, and also create custom content for our films.  We've lately been much more involved in creating digital content for our recent films such as 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, ZOOLANDER 2, and DADDY'S HOME.  I work in a very friendly and open work environment and I enjoy working closely with our in house editing team to create content.  I am constantly liaising between editors and producers to facilitate the creation of content along strict timelines.

I liked working at Paramount. It was a much easier job than working at Tri-Star Pictures or a publicity firm I had been with previously. We had to attend screenings during work hours which was kind of fun. The people were wonderful! Part of my job was to deal with the general public but sometimes that was fun also, as I got to send out Paramount press kits and such. That was rewarding sometimes. Reading fan mail was sort of a chore but I didn't really mind it. I actually was still working at Tri-Star (but was ready to leave) when I got a phone call from the head of publicity at Paramount to come work for them--so I did! Never regretted it! 

Overall I enjoyed my time at Paramount, but upon reflection, felt that the way processes are implemented are really just to cope with new problems and that the overall systems in place are not well thought out or cohesive. You have to be adept at handling very heavy workloads with some unrealistic timelines. There are a lot of computer programs that are not efficiently utilized (as in they are specifically silo-ed for one department and are not cross-functional to benefit all divisions). The personnel have a positive, close, family-like structure and team members are always helpful and knowledgeable.
