As an EMT working on the ambulance or in EMS in general is very stressful. However as an EMT in my position as an occupational health technician it's quite the opposite. I am able to see patients outside of emergency situations. People see me for vision exams, respirator fit tests, OTC medicine, and just general wellness questions.

The position I have is an overnight position, so often times I can go an entire shift without seeing a patient. Which this works out great as I'm pursuing a degree. This allows me to continue being available and providing care but also having a down-time to study. 

During the dayshift however can be quite busy. But once again typical sick visits rather than high-speed emergencies. It's a nice change of pace if you want to calm down or have a break from the ambulance.

Additionally my position as an EMT pays significantly higher than any other positions as an EMT in my area. So that is a major bonus.

Additionally Pivot has a great relationship with the company we are contracted to work for so often we get to enjoy rewards and benefits from the contracting company. Sometimes it's easy to forget which company I work for.

This is also the first company I've worked for where requesting PTO wasn't a chore and leaving for military service is as simple as an email. 

We are also occasionally gifted gift cards for holidays, specific events, etc which I have never seen before until this job.

The only negative I see with my position is it doesn't really have any room to develop/grow further with the company. So odds are once I get my paramedic I will have to leave this position and potentially the company.

Overall the company is ok if they would get stuff figured out. You cant have bosses out of state try and manage a location that they have no clue what goes on every day. They only hear what is going on via emails or phone calls. Than you have the trouble makers who cause people to leave or get pushed out because the person doesn't like you. and yet mgmt wonders why there is such a high turn around. And even being told the reason the person is still there...
 Training lacks. No direct way of how things should go. Rules change daily and weekly.  Than you have a DR. For the main company who isnt even in the state and your suppose to report to him about what's going on doesnt make sense. They hire emts for afternoon overnight and weekend shifts but tell you. That your not working as a emt your working as an occupational health tech. But you have no dr or pa on site so you work as a emt. With the license you busted your butt to get. And mo continuing ed credits to help you keep your emt license. Besides being a emt your also the, receptionist, cleaner, stocker, jack of all trades. While other shifts dont have to do those jobs you do.  Allot of conflicting stuff too special treatment to certain employees.   
Communication doesnt exist at all.   Good luck getting any answers from mgmt when you contact them with questions. You never hear back.  Overall  it was ok but feel like if your not apart of the best friends club dont bother. You'll get pushed out like the rest.

run dont walk.the ads lie. you dont work as a EMT, like they want you to be, total confusion. benefits suck, very expensive high deductible insurance.  current office has a troublemaker there who needs to be let go, she causes people to leave all the time, she thinks she the boss and writes you up, when to top it off there is no boss. your supervisor is located in another state, and the main person is just an account rep thats all. a nobody who's never been in the ems field, all they do is push papers. come on.    than  you have people working without valid license. lies lies lies, too many to list, constant write ups, you are afraid to even go into work because not sure if the PA has written you up because of not liking how you write things or do anything. there is no team here at all its only I. ypur suppose to be a emt, and your more than your job title. you do all the cleaning, stocking, pt calling, charting. while other staff members sit in offices and do nothing, and others get special treatment so you get their work as well.   youd think a medical place would be more professional. you are told to let the main people know stuff than get backlash on yourself for telling them.   do not work here. find better.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My boss was amazing. She was approachable , kind, compassionate and always had her employees back.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Integration of a 3rd party company Athletico made Pivot changes for the worse from insurance to management. Also other employees were never reprimanded for poor behavior or poor treatment of others. Some employees were often bullied and never allowed to defend themselves because meetings were had in secret. My bosses boss called employees liars and even when proven wrong never apologized. This wasn't just my own personal experience either.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If things were good for the company then all was fine. If everyone was stressed it was a free for all for mud slinging

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of autonomy with constant changes to rules and regulations and changes in management

They, along with other companies, are partnered with a main contracting company to provide Strength & Conditioning Coaches for the Army's H2F program. Coaches employed under different companies are assigned to a team lead to their respective units. Cool environment to work in, especially being a veteran myself. The company itself requires 40-hour weeks, some light admin work, and some cyber training. There is an assigned base lead who is the one who communicates with the higher-ups. Overall a good gig for a strength & conditioning coach who wants to work with tactical.

Unfortunately Pivot consistently pays its contractors between $7,000-$15,000 less per year than the other contractors for the same exact job (with a 1-year non-compete post-separation to prevent one from seeking employment with the other contractors). There are health and retirement befefit options, but they aren't the best. As it is contract work, there is no advancement beyond getting promoted to lead.

I didn't enjoy my time with pivot. They pay great compared to regular emt jobs, but the amount of work involved in this job is more than being an emt and that's when the pay doesn't add up. Too much responsibility and too little pay. I never felt secure while working here. A lot of people to satisfy including pivot and their client. Got a lot of gray hair working here. The managers claim to have your back, but will drop you in an instant. Communication is unclear. Everything is a secret when you're under the microscope and you'll never know if you're doing anything wrong. There's nothing worse than coming into work in fear that any day might be your last day because you are disposable. All they care about is keeping the client happy and that means giving you the boot if necessary. They won't defend you. They won't have your back. And definitely watch your own back if you choose to work here. Everyone is friendly to your face and quick to stab you in the back. 

Pivot Onsite Innovations offers a supportive culture, generous PTO, and great benefits. I appreciated my team and felt my direct managers were approachable and professional. However, the company can be disorganized - processes and expectations aren't always clearly communicated, which can lead to confusion. Unfortunately, when misunderstandings or client dissatisfaction arise from this lack of clarity, the employee is often held accountable. Responsibilities can shift over time, sometimes expanding well beyond the original job scope. Management will support you up to a point, but if conflict arises with the client, the company will generally side with the client. Your experience will largely depend on the client you're assigned to, so it's critical to clearly define your role, communicate proactively, and advocate for yourself to avoid being placed in compromising situations.

Absolutely love the management, they are fair, understanding and supportive on both professional and personal levels.  There is no better EMS work out there period. They know the industry and always have an answer for whatever question you may have. The most competant company from top to bottom I have ever worked for. Absolutely head and shoulders above their competitors. My advice is to be amicable, be able to read the patient (real or fake injury/high maintenance or low maintenance), and know how to communicate with both construction workers and insurance risk management. 

My typical work day consist of checking in patients, verify current address and any changes with information in company database.

Collect and process urine specimens for drug screens. This was my first experience with assisting physician assistant with DOT exams.

I started working here through an agency Protocall Staffing and I was hired temp to permanent. 

My manager  was very helpful with showing me the proper procedure with the paper work associated with DOT exams and physicals.

The hardest part of my job is being bored during down time. I often ask the Physician Assistant for more duties.

The most enjoyable part of my job is I enjoy working with the patients and staff here. I take pride in my job.

A company that only cares about the contracts they hold with other businesses and not at all about their employees. I have heard many horror stories from employees about how they faced difficulties at their site or with fellow co-workers and how Pivot did absolutely nothing to help resolve the issues and instead made their life more difficult. I was hesitant until I had a similar situation in which I had been on a management track and received exemplary reviews and praise and when I began to ask for growth opportunities I was immediately shut down. I've had multiple managers since starting with the company and some have been horrendous with communication and providing support.
