One of the worst work experiences I’ve ever had, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

When you first arrive, you spend about two days watching training videos, and then you are handed numerous PowerPoints. They say they will support and help you, but that was not my experience. The training felt very limited and did not prepare employees properly for the job.

The Assistant Director, Genesis Espinal, may have knowledge of home care, but in my experience, when it came to leadership and guidance in her role, I often received unclear answers and felt like I was given the runaround instead of direct support. There also seemed to be a lot of time spent chatting rather than helping staff. I personally felt there was favoritism, and whenever concerns were brought up, I felt blamed instead of supported.

The benefits may be good, but for me they were not worth the stress and work environment. If you have issues with coworkers or management, HR seemed to become involved frequently rather than issues being resolved effectively.

If you value teamwork, support, proper training, and a healthy work environment, I would think carefully before applying—especially for coordinator or supervisory positions. In my experience, this was one of the most stressful workplaces I’ve encountered.

I hate the fact that they always take away your vacation time and sick pay from you when all other agencies I know transfer it to the next year. Plus even if the amount of time you work gives you more than 40 vacation hours. They will only give you 40hrs when other agencies will give you the full amount you are dues. Same goes for sick pay. Also for sick pay, they only give you 10hrs per day even when you normally work 12hrs per day. To add to that you have to give a doctor's note even if you call sick for one or 2 days which is stupid because what if what I have just requires home medicine and rest? Do I really need to go see a doctor if I have let's say diarrhea? Even with the doctor's note, they refuse to pay you. You gotta basically harass them to get your money.... Plus their union is useless. They don't even pay time and half for holidays which I hate and they expect you to work holidays. Crazy.

A typical day at work based on the cases I had was a mix of stress, lessons and Experience. Working taking care of someone else was something I didn't expect to do, but was definitely a learning experience. a bitter sweet experience so to say, mostly because it was sad to see older people slowly fading away and not being able to fend for themselves. Yet, at the same time it was a beautiful thing to communicate with them and be able to help them. A lot of people are lonely and don't have anyone to look after them and they genuinely tend to grow on you overtime and it is nice to learn from them. Most enjoyable part of the job was being able to share moments with people who needed help and being able to assist them.

Working at this company has its up and downs. One of the best thing working here is that they always thinking in activities in order to keeps employees active, participating and happy. Management, from my perspective is great, helpful, understanding and caring, they do lots of stuff to appreciate employees (one of the greatest pros). The culture has changed with the time, although they are getting better at treating people equal, nobody is perfect and they still have some aspect to work with.  

Platinum was a new company that had branched off of another company. So they really didn't have a plan or a vision just to succeed. My boss was very easy to get a hold off and helpful with meeting clients however it was very difficult to receive proper training so I could be well versed in my field. It was sort of thrown to the wolves and call colleagues if needed. I did not enjoy waiting it out at hospitals for referrals while the competition was doing the same. It became about how much money can be made rather than are patients receiving the best care.

If you are desperate enough to work then take the job there. It’s clear that the company is ran mainly by Hispanics with the exception of the CEO and a few people who are Jewish & Russian. The environment is heavily toxic. The supervisors depending on who is yours are rude and distasteful in hiring people. By telling you to your face they don’t think your cut out for the work then hiring you because they can’t get anyone else right there & then. Then by replacing you just as fast. So glad I left but if you know what’s really going on after just 4-5 weeks you would leave too.

I always felt valued by management, and in reverse the company provides all of the resources needed to carry out the tasks of my job and staff working in the community.  No time was ever wasted scrambling to find least costly solutions, it is highly client-centered and well orchestrated for optimum productivity.

I could say that a  typical day at work for me is cloudy with a chance of meatballs . You never know what kind of challenges you are going to be facing on that particular day. But when they do present you always find a way to get things back to normal.

What I learned everyday is that you must be flexible ,compassionate ,patient and be adaptable to your environment.

The hardest part of the job is  working with different clients with challenging needs and expectations and find a way to do the job effectively.

This company doesn’t care about employees wellness. They, sometimes, send you just to clean people mess as if you’re a cleaning company or a housekeeper. They don’t offer any benefit such as metro card wherever they send you, you have to struggle to get there. Some companies offer monthly metro card to their employees . Platinum is using HHA workers. Jobs are offering to people per category and color.. diff cases are giving to black peoples.

If you’re considering working here, best to keep looking. Everything seemed to be an issue at one point. Couldn’t take off, couldn’t leave early due to emergency. If you were late by 1 min, it was a big issue. Phones are not being answered. Therefore, when you did, patients and aides were complaining of the lack communication with staff. Management was terrible. If you have a death in a family, be prepared to render proof. Overall, not the greatest experience in this place.
