The work environment faced at PMS will be entirely dependent on the department and managers you work directly with each day. Many mangers have grown along with the company and may or may not have strong leadership characteristics. Ask specific questions during the interview process to clarify what their vision is for you and for your working relationship.

There is an extremely strong "top down" mentality here, with very little room to provide suggestions. The mission of the organization is a good one, but the core values are generally not being practiced within the day to day operations, nor is there adequate training to assist the staff (and managers) to learn how to implement nice ideas into a true skill set and actionable qualities.

The pay scales are based off of years of experience and the degrees you possess, as well as time with the company, rather than the quality and output of work being done. Because of this, the compensation is average and PMS is unable to retain quality employees. There is absolutely no incentive for an employee to stay long term, unless you're happy doing the day to day work with a smile and going home. Managers may blame you for problems rather than look at the real operational issues. Appropriate accompaniment from supervisors, as well as the need to create a supportive working environment, are sometimes lacking. There could be exceptions to this, but it would be based on your direct manager and the type of environment created within your team/department. 

The high turnover is accepted as fact, and it doesn't seem like the organization is doing anything to remedy this, even when quality employees who want to grow within the organization are present. Many kinds of archaic, outdated business practices lead to this kind of work environment and high turnover rate.

If this could give me option to place a ( 0 ) zero star rating i would of..

I will never wright such a harsh review about a health care establishment, but in this occasion i feel the need to warn the  poor sucker who decides to say yes to this establishment. 

I was only with this company for little under 3 months when i had to call it quits. This company is nothing but high school drama, the nursing director, included along with her sidekick who is nothing more than a MA ohh but believe me when i say that the nursing director has given her the power to demean anybody who sets foot in this place since she has been named the "Lab Designee" Honestly is more work for the same about of pay for any CMA that works their but is it worth it??? NO. 

Be prepare to deal with family (BS) since the DOS"Director of Nursing" and BOS "Business Office Supervisor" are related "Mother and Daughter to be exact" favoritism to employees who kiss this people behinds.  

Training is horrible you have to read what you will be doing and you will shadowing you're co workers, keep in mind everyone works differently but thats not the problem the problem is that they don't bother to explain what anything i, and when they quiz you, be prepare to know about what you are doing , you better know the answer or else you will be chewed out and threaten to be fired.  

Apparently you cant do what your providers tell you to do because they are not your "supervisors" In what world does that make sense???

You will be talked bout, you will be picked on and trashed talk to , they will place you on the spot with out a warning, they will go over every thing you have done, and believe me they will find something their to day you did it wrong. You correct you're self the next day and somehow its still wrong. 

Be prepared to take task on you're own with out actually knowing what your doing "Wing it i guess". 

Theirs so much more that i can write about this company but if you want to take a chance go ahead and apply. Witness this your self. and best of luck to you.

To begin, this company and managers/supervisors do not want to help you. This is a place where it is a game to hire and see how "long" you can last. The clinic in Alamogordo is made up of family and friends. You do not get the opportunity to speak to other management besides what resides this particular office. Do many complaints have been filed and this group has been there for years. You basically do as you're told which varies day by day since personal and professional circumstances change like clockwork. You are taught to for example give vaccines and draw blood but when management comes around you do NOT do these things. You are set to work at a clinic and when weather conditions become severe, and you're vehicle to thier knowledge already** cannot get you through to get home safely. This is not thier concern because you are replaceable. This company has a huge turnover of employees in this group of clinics and still no change has been made or even the nature to persinvestigate these claims has begun. If you care for patients, if you tend to be "too" kind towards patients, save the humiliation this supervisor and "lab designee" will bring to you. It seems taunting and jokes about it's very own employees and patients on a daily basis is a game they enjoy to the fullest extent. They do not care for you, just showing up when the want, leaving as they want, trolling when they want and "teaching" only when a company exec is to come and inspect. For your mental and overall physical health I strongly advise looking elsewhere for employment. You will be treated better, all employees who have left here have gone with others and stayed because your work life is not supposed to be this horrendous. PMS please do better for your current and future employees. 

The Manager and supervisors are unprofessional.  From day 1 I felt uncomfortable. The manager and two of the 3 supervisors are not very friendly and be little you. There is no training manuals or handouts. I did shadow a few employees but they their desk differently . You are expected to take notes. If you have any questions they tell you “ Did you look at your notes?” They do not want to train you. You have to rely on your notes. You do take a CARS training class  but it is from a Care Coordinator position point of view and the trainer goes really fast. I was the only person who took notes during that class. But the class is not from the Account Receivable point of view and does not help. The management did not understand this and again belittles you. The company goes by AIDET and I was asked by the manager 1 month a into employment to give her the words to AIDET. I gave her most but not all and told her if you ask ask me next week I will know them all. The response was. I doubt it you will not know it. This is a women who claims GOD comes first in her life. Most of the employees probably do not know it. The management in this department is very unprofessional, the supervisors except for 1 will throw  you under the bus any given chance and they are unwilling to train you. The company is a good company so if you apply. Apply anywhere but the AR Department.

This non profit company serves one purpose only- to make money. There's a reason PMS was only one of two clinics out of 15 able to keep their doors open in 2013 during the Medicaid freeze. There is a one size fits all mentality with the providers that demands everyone provides care in the exact same manner. The emphasis is on volume and one feels like one is pushing cattle through a chute. The concept of quality care is given lip service but is impossible in the corporate climate of " hurry up and bill." If your thinking is not in perfect synchrony with the corporate culture, you will be criticized, micromanaged and most likely, terminated. There is no room for the free expression of thoughts and ideas in this company. Management, including on site supervisor and regional director, is MIA and nonresponsive. Effective and timely communication is non existent. If you want to survive in this organization, you had better keep your thoughts inside the box, your head down, put quality aside and don't expect an encouraging word or praise. The MAs were not well trained and had an attitude of disrespect toward the provider. This company could do a far better job of serving the mental health community but with their corporate rigidity and lack of enlightenment, they will foolishly persist in their current policies and continue losing employees.

Worst job ever! Dont trust management. Putting you on contract so youll be treated as a professional is a pile if ..... Still treat you the same because your title isnt md. Youll do well if you dont reqiure  assistance to help you, dont voice your concerns, and do your own reminders, even do your own vital signs. Never have i been so poorly treated. I have had some lousy jobs as a provider. I would not recommend this company to anyone, not even the maid. This management theory of saying "everybody is complaining" creates animosity among all the staff ( should just talk about the one person that is complaining). At this company, it is trully about who you know, not what you know. So if you know someone youll move up in management, even if your not management material. They are not looking for the best person for the job, just a buddy. If your desperate it will do til you find something else. Just pretend you like the place and dont waste much time on the annual survey, it doesnt matter, nothing changes. I was even told not to be friends with other staff... ?? Isnt it supposed to be a team effort. Long hours trying to do an honest job and do right by my patients. It is not a trusting environment

I worked for PMS nearly 2 yrs. I became disenchanted after 6 months and started looking for a new job after 1 yr.

This company has outgrown it original small company status and is now a larger player, yet it still thinks like it is small. They say the want new ideas and are open to continuos improvement, but they are stuck in the old ways and resist change. There is a bubble around management and they only see what they want to see and only hear what they want to hear. They do not listen to the professonal experts they hire to give them guidence. They try to do leadership and team building training, but there's nothing of substance behind what they say.

Professonals are hired to take charge of programs, but when they try to take charge and change the way things are done, the company silences them and takes away their authority leaving them set up for failure. Managers and supervisors are not held accountable for not following standard procedures.

Turnover is high, moral is low. PTO package and benifits are good, but employees complain about base pay.

They have relocated portions of thier HQ to another city and when they did employees had to reapply for their jobs and had to accept less pay to stay with the company. This may happen again soon.

I worked for PMS for a number of years, and overall, my experience was not positive.
While training is provided, employees are often expected to quickly figure things out on their own due to the large amount of information that must be retained—especially when system changes occur. Most staff keep detailed notebooks just to keep up. Although prior CARs can sometimes provide guidance, collaboration feels limited, and teamwork is not strongly encouraged. At times, it felt more like information was guarded than shared.
Workplace drama is something to be prepared for. There appears to be favoritism and protection of certain individuals, which creates an unfair environment for others.
Many of the concerns stem from leadership roles, including Administration, the Assistant Administrator, BOSs, and Lead CARs. Additionally, the company structure itself seems disorganized, and administrative write-ups are not always handled consistently.
Overall, the environment could benefit from stronger leadership accountability, clearer structure, and a more collaborative team culture.

Individuals are threatened not by your weaknesses, but by your strengths.


What is the best part of working at the company?
Variety of clients/patients we served at the Federally Qualified Health Center. Completing 95# of my intake assessments on the phone with patients-clients versus in person during Covid19 pandemic.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of team support as my closest colleague was working remotely 90% of the time along with many of colleagues. This made it difficult to build rapport & trust within the behavior health team.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Somewhat chaotic. No FMLA coverage for myself until one year of employment but I have a chronic illness and had a 9 month relapse in my symptoms & my position could not be held for me when my recovery timeframe was uncertain. & that was acceptable for the clinic. Despite my excellent performance prior to my symptomology got in the way of my ability to perform my job duties for several months.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Completing 4 phone intake assessments with individuals experiencing behavioral health symptoms.

PMS is run by people who are incompetent in what they do, many of them without formal education relevant to the position they hold. The management is disorganized, rigid, out of touch, unwilling to communicate with the employees and learn. PMS pretends to be a large corporation with a lot of experts but the lack of professionalism and expertise is unbelievable. PMS loves to put high school graduates in charge of their clinics, which seems to save them money. Some of their mid and upper managers are lazy, unmotivated former state employees that pretend to be competent and willing to solve problems. PMS treats their employees very poorly and has a high turnover rate. Patient visits are 15 minutes. MAs are being asked to complete a number of elective quality measures to make PMS look good on paper. NPs and PAs are poorly paid, not appreciated at all, viewed as second hand providers but expected to see about the same number of patients as physicians. All providers are expected to stay after hours to complete their notes because there is no such thing as admin time. Overall exploitative,disorganized, hostile, punitive work environment.
