Provider's-Choice-Scribe-Services

The only enjoyable part about this job is the providers you meet and build relationships with. Management is HORRIBLE at managing their locations, some only visiting their site once a YEAR. You are expected to wear scrubs from the owner’s limited scrub line which are very uncomfortable and cannot be tailored to each scribe. Breaks are not given to the scribes and management NEVER advocates for their employees. Communication is HORRIBLE. Emails are answered weeks after they are sent, and managers give short notice to scribes for call ins. Badge access is always given late to new scribes, even when their training has ended. Training is very unorganized and is not enough to prepare incoming scribes. The medical terminology “training class” is essentially two days of someone reading off a word document. The managers and hiring staff paint a picture that is misleading and essentially set you up for failure. Management constantly lies and invents excuses to avoid being held accountable for mistakes they make. If possible, work for a provider or clinic directly instead of through a third party scribe company such as Provider’s Choice. It will save you plenty of stress and time.  

It's a good pay and they're very flexible but when the clinic they put me in closed down I said I'd still want to work with them and would wait until they get me another location. They never contacted me again and when I contacted them about them not paying for my training they never answered either. They're also very last minute when it comes to tests for you to get credentials, which I never even got. The experience of meeting patients and making connections at the clinic is the best experience and I loved it, I just don't like the agency, Provider's Choice Scribe Services, since they rarely cared about keeping communication and the people. The training was also very short and not very informational, I mainly studied the packet they gave since the teaching instructor would do his own thing in the video call or have us read the packet and that would be it.

This company is not completely honest. I was told that I would scribe in the E.R. However, I ended up at a small clinic that's 46mins away from my apartment . I was told that I would get the opportunity soon, but they ended hiring someone new instead to scribe. The pay is only $9.00, your training pay is $7. You have to pick up 4 back ups (on call shifts) , so you never really get a day off. If you're not a full time student and are only taking 2 classes this job is alright. I was just scanning medical records into the system and abstracting charts. You can't always trust your employees to pick up shifts and for them to do a good job on their work, so I was always did double the work, I felt like I was baby sitting some co-workers because they would just do nothing , put the wrong info into the E-chart and never got in trouble for it. I got written up while the person who does absolutely nothing never got in trouble. 

Training is not informative enough to prepare you for the clinical setting, if you feel unprepared prior to stepping foot into the clinic or hospital it is because you are and that is a company problem. Trainers are not taught/given the resources to provide quality clinical training needed. In fact, a lot of the trainers don't know certain things and then will teach it to the trainees. This all comes back to management. The entire company is pretty much ran by life science majors, who don't have any type of business background. This might not seem like a big deal to employees at first glance and might seem to be more of an issue for clients, but when people are unqualified at the top it will eventually make its way back down to the bottom. There are many other great scribing companies out there, as well as clinics/provider's who will hire you that pay significantly better and treat employees better as well. 

You may get great experience and meet great healthcare professionals. Not everyone works in the ER or with doctors directly and there were several scribes working as receptionists/filing paper work or not doing anything scribe related.  You really have to push/request often if you want to be relocated to do actual scribing.  With this being said, the management has no business /leadership skills which can be put up with for only so long. The supervisor doesn't even do the bare minimum of responding to emails, letting scribes know to come in for call ins at a reasonable time,  cant communicate clear job specifications or changes. The pay is not sufficient for the amount of work a scribe is put to do in the actual emergency department with no breaks/ lunch break, and especially for overnight shifts or call ins. This is a good starting job if you have absolutely no healthcare experience. 

I worked at the pembroke pines area and I felt as if there was a sexism/discrimination going on but I wasn't going to deal with it for $12 an hour. I really just hated the fact that I was fired without having a meeting or having a manager talk to me, PHYSICIALLY, over what was being done wrong. Instead what the management did was pass around rumors and negative secrets about me I just started to give up towards the end. This job has an EXTREME lack of communication and I am just overall happy that I don't have to deal with the stress of this sort of workplace. ALSO, I had never been reimbursed for the scrubs which was promised in the beginning oddly enough.

Working as a scribe for PCSS has been my first-ever job. At this company, I was allowed a first glimpse into the medical field and how it works. Since I began working here, management has been clear about their expectations and frequently maintains contact whenever you need them. Being able to make your own schedule has been a lifesaver in maintaining a healthy life/work balance that has allowed me to succeed.  You can expect to make valuable friendships and connections with providers and fellow scribes alike. Overall, working for this company is fulfilling and a great opportunity to obtain experience, knowledge, and a chance to progress further into the medical field.

I applied for this job as an opportunity to get more experience of working in a hospital setting and was not disappointed. In the beginning, it was fine but as time passed and with the change of management for our team of scribes, it became dissatisfying to work for the company. On numerous occasions, I thought about turning in my resignation but I decided not to due to the amazing connections I made with the nurses, technicians and providers I worked with.

When I worked here, it was the only scribe company I could find that didn’t require a long commitment which was a plus. It was good experience overall. It was a bit stressful, but that’s to be expected. The training didn’t leave me feeling totally prepared, but I think it’s probably just hard to quickly train people for the job. The scheduling was a free for all of people choosing shifts on line which is kind of nice if you can get shifts that work well with your school schedule. The pay should probably be higher but this is typical of scribe jobs and most are doing it for the experience anyways.

First red flag: 10 min interview 
Second red flag: “discounted” scrubs that need to be ordered immediately from their sister company but wont get to you for weeks
Third red flag: no benefits even for their full-time employees(source:Full-time MA) They wont train you properly either, just get whoever is working that day to “train” you. There is no designated trainer or proper training handbook. 

Not a serious company but not terrible if you live near and dont really care for health benefits. Medical Staff is great but PCSS management is subpar.
