Proximity-Systems

I was employed at Proximity Systems for 5 1/2 years. I began as facility manager/maintenance at a base salary and was told we would receive quarterly raises per our reviews.
A year into my employment and a few positive reviews I questioned the raises only to be brushed off and ignored. The next time I questioned it - I was rewarded with a poor review and told that I should possibly question my future with the company. I found out later on that other people that had been with the company 10+ years had NEVER received a single raise, and when the issue was brought up - it was not uncommon to be threatened with termination.
Over time the company's sales began to fail, and layoffs began. The remaining employees were asked to absorb the responsibilities without compensation because we were "family" and things would turn around in the future. 
Among my maintenance duties I also acquired all trade show responsibilities which was extremely time consuming and often required travel around the country that required often several days out of town - with some I would not be paid for, however, I was expected to remain in the town the trade show was in.
I also took on all service calls around the Houston area and often out of state. During these times I was ONLY compensated for the time I worked on site, paid the bare minimum in mileage, and often expected to drive 6-8 hours back and forth on a daily basis to avoid accommodation fees. Though I had a company credit card throughout my entire employment, I was required to sit down every week and go over EVERY single charge that I had made. If they felt that it wasn't approved (I.E. a meal, drink, etc.), it would be taken out of my following paycheck
As time and layoffs went on, I also took on the role of helping with parts and customer service, shipping, and was asked to train to operate their CNC operation - all without compensation.
The last year of my employment I felt I was not the only one losing hope in the company. The manufacturing supervisor completely disappeared from the picture - rarely responding to emails, phone calls, leaving a "do not disturb" sign on his locked office door. 
My supervisor would ignore my emails and requests for supplies, scheduling times for building maintenance, only to accuse me of never reaching out to him when it was brought up in company meetings. 
Upon one of my last reviews I was told that I had "lost motivation, wasn't  driven." At that point I made the choice to leave the company, just as others many have since. 

Was a great job to start off with but after 3 years i noticed there was no advancement opportunities. Also the hourly pay had not changed much at all even after 3-4 years of experience there.

Great family oriented company to work for.  Friendly, curtious management.

This company makes a good product.  Weak management. Sell team works well together.  Somewhat behind in technology.  Innovative design team.
