The only reason anybody works with this company is because the compensation monetarily is much higher than other companies for the same job title, but trust me you will work for the difference. They pay more an hour for cnas and nurses than most other SNF but you work much harder, they are always short staffed, there is a culture of discrimination for one reason or another, age, nationality, "cliques", degree, and it is like many other SNFs "all in who you know". Corporate is based out of GA and adapts GA BON regulations although this is NC, there are things in GA that an LPN cannot do that they can very well do in NC but the corporate officials never take the time to look into NC BON regulations although this is the state they function in. There is much opportunity for growth within this company but only if you are an RN who is a part of the "clique" shall we say. Corporate would rather promote RNs who clearly don't have a clue than an LPN who had functioned in that capacity before, even if it was within the company. If you are an LPN who is lucky enough to obtain a position within the company and at some point management changes, your position will be advertised for an RN and be threatened although you have been doing it successfully for months or even years. Corporate encourages wrongdoing by administrative staff and then when there's a complaint to corporate that is valid they encourage a plan the exact opposite of what has been going on to the point that is discriminatory in a reverse capacity. Nurses are expected to work more than one hall at a time so on-call staff do not have to come in or work as a nurse with no CNA, which can be a unsafe assigner either way by definition of nursing board & you are threatened with termination for refusing a work assignment or abandonment for those that don't know any better. There is entirely too much charting, double and triple documentation & although the company has a policy & procedure manual online which has 8000 policies in writing, it is not inserviced how to access it nor is it actually used...the management does what they want & don't follow policy. You are chastised for overtime & expected to get better time management but are expected to do the job of more than 1 person on the hall and in other positions throughout the company even outside if nursing period...the budget is ridiculous and they attribute it to the higher pay we receive but what it really boils down to is the bottom line if PROFIT...all they care about is the way the building looks, they actually have a thing called green sweep when corporate higher ups, even the CEO come to make sure it looks & smells pretty everyone the fact that it's fake and we always know when they're coming and everybody is miserable before you come and after you leave...I wish my part time job could give me a $7 raise, I would leave but that's the difference in pay.

Pros
The company has a lot of locations so it's easy to find something close to home.
I learned a lot while I was there.
If you have to work there, know that it's temporary. Learn what you can and move on!
Has some good systems although too many.


Cons
Corporate management unfairly and inequitably applies policies at will. They create new policies that no one knows about and then picks and chooses who to apply them to. 85% of the management staff couldn't tell you what the policies are at any given time. If you ask 3 people you will get 3 different answers.

PTO policy was changed without notice.  Found out after I submitted my resignation notice that my PTO would not be paid out.  The work is so heavy that you are never able to take off so imagine my disappointment to learn that in spite of my ample resignation notice given, my 30 days of accrued PTO (from the past couple of years of never taking off) would NOT be paid. This is a "new" policy and apparently payroll doesn't even know this because I was still being directed to pay out other former employees PTO even though mine would not be paid out.

Corporate staff comes into the facilities to talk about other facilities instead of completing the tasks that they are assigned to do.  They go from facility to facility doing this.    I've worked for several large hospitals and employers of choice in my career and have never experienced a place as unprofessional as Pruitt.  Everyone wants to be a chief and thinks that they are more important than they are - specifically corporate staff.  The things that corporate staff should be involved in, such as physical plant breakdowns and patient care needs - get no attention.

Nepotism is rampant and almost everyone in upper management knows someone.  I think this contributes to the chaos at the company because instead of hiring the best candidates for leadership, they hire people they know.  These people are not always the best and it shows in the way the company is ran.

If you're going to quit, it's better to not give a notice.  I have never in my life left a professional job without notice but I've also never worked anywhere like Pruitt. They seem to penalize you for giving a notice because they start messing with your pay and pulling policies out of hats that haven't been previously applied to anyone else. You cant use your PTO but also won't be paid for it either.

Advice
If you change a significant policy, make sure that everyone knows and then apply the policy fairly and equitably across the board.

Get corporate staff under control.

Back up your leadership staff.

I have worked for multiple companies in my day and I can honestly say this is the WORST company I ever worked for! This place is so top heavy in management.   The overall goal is to make a spoiled little rich boy even richer by stealing from the employees.  This place is the finest example of nepotism.  They employ their friends and family in upper management so there can be no accountability.  

Want holidays off? Nope.  Want to be paid appropriately for your work and time? Nope! They barely pay you a fair mileage rate and on top of that don't even pay you accurately. If you challenge them on it or submit a complaint it gets "resolved" behind closed doors AKA nothing happens.   They micromanage every second of your day. They blame the field employees for every problem like low census and  don't invest in their employees or their offices.  There are absolutely zero incentives to your job other than avoiding constantly hearing your job be threatened, being belittled and yelled at in front of your team, or made to feel inadequate. 
 You are lucky if your office even provides you with some water to drink it is that bad.  

The employees are treated awful.  I have been on the receiving end of consultants bullying and verbally abusing the employees for the smallest of things.  I have heard administration yell and belittle employees for asking the simplest of question. Basically, do and follow every command with no questioning of any kind. 

Want more proof you are their property? When you leave, you don't get to use nor do you get paid out the PTO time you accrue.  Good luck trying to get access to your benefit account money.  They keep it for themselves.  Want a final paycheck? Well you will have to call a complaint about it because they won't give you one without it. 

Think HR is there to help? No! They don't answer a phone. If you want help from HR you have to figure out how to submit some form and then it will go to the area vice president (who happens to be the best friend of the administrator that you want to complain about).  You can send them an email but they may not even reply and if they even do they won't help you from the other side of that screen.  

I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy and I wouldn't place them in any of their awful facilities.  You aren't seen as a person you are seen as a dollar sign and they nickel and dime every employee and resident.  Stay away if you can.  This place seriously needs to be investigated into corruption and corporate greed. 

Ive been at Pruitt HH for roughly 9 months at this point. To start off this review. The company just went through a major change, and swapped EMRs from HCHB in HH to Matrix. Not only was this a challenging process, but effects are still being felt 2 months later.
The training we had for the new system, was extremely poor at best. There have been constant ongoing changes that we've had to adjust to with on the fly texts, and surprise meetings on the same day, asking us to cancel/move patients. Management has handled the transition poorly, with multiple employees in the back office, and field staff quitting, leaving the entire company short staffed (at least in my state)
Over the course of these 9 months, multiple changes have happened financially as well.
7 months ago, they decided field staff clinicians were transitioning from Salary, to PPV pay. Then, not even 4 months after this. They decided that the PPV model paid to highly, therefore they changed how many points daily visits, staff meetings, and online training reward, as well as other things. Remember driving 90 miles and being compensated appropriately? Not anymore, you now have to drive 120miles to get extra compensation.
It was essentially a company wide 10% paycut that occurred. When I say company wide, i mean field staff ONLY. Management or back office staff didn't take a cut. In fact, Management sent everyone from upper level on all expenses paid trip to Nevada.
Management then decided that we "lost money" as a company, as a result of the EMR swap, or the all expenses paid trip, maybe both? Possibly due to staff turnover? Who knows. They dont communicate. They just rewrite your contract.

Regardless. They used this as an excuse to pay people less for the work they were already doing.

Needless to say. There's a company wide issue going on right now, I love my job. However, I do not love being paid LESS than what I started at, dealing with poor communication from back office staff, and consistent changes.
Last thing. PTO is NOT paid out when you put in a 4 week letter of resignation at this company. Instead, it just vanishes into thin air.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Other than that, the ideas for the activities themselves are fun and a great way to gain job experience!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The challenging part is encouraging a larger number of residents to participate.

Another concern is the company itself. Things often feel slow, and the pay rate is unfortunately quite low, which many employees have mentioned. On top of that, the benefits don’t always provide enough flexibility for taking holiday breaks when people need time to recharge. I understand that this can sometimes happen with entry-level or high-turnover jobs, especially when sacrifices are expected, but it can still be frustrating.

I’m also bummed that my schedule was unexpectedly changed from Monday–Friday to working some weekends with separate off-days during the week. I know there can be some advantages to weekend shifts, but based on my colleagues’ experiences, it doesn’t always seem ideal for an activities assistant position in an assisted living facility.

It’s not just about the schedule change. I’m also concerned because I have plans outside of work that can make weekend shifts difficult. Another issue is that on weekends I often hear claims or complaints from residents or guests that there are no activities, yet participation tends to be low when activities are offered anyway. That situation can feel awkward and discouraging, which is another reason I’m not particularly looking forward to the weekend schedule change.

In addition, as someone who learns and processes things differently, I’ve always found Monday–Friday schedules easier to manage and keep track of. Rotating or varied schedules can feel too much for me. I understand that this might not be difficult for everyone, but for me it can be overwhelming to handle.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s like normal assistant facilities but some parts of the facility are outdated. I wish there could be more expansion.

The basics: one paid holiday (Christmas), unaffordable healthcare options, if you take the 401K you will not get your money for 3 years if you leave and there is no match.  If you travel and make more than 50K per year you are expected to pay all of your travel expenses and then wait weeks for reimbursement.  If you resign your PTO will not be paid out even if you give notice.   When you start working your first week's pay will be held back.   I'm waiting a month already for this pay since separating.  Now the review:  hired into a position that did not exist by a pair of Vice Presidents.  This meant no job description, no resources needed to do the job.  Frequently ordered to travel to another office to provide skilled nurse visits.  This would be fine except the other office was 4.5 hours away.   No concern for personal commitments, expected to leave and travel and be away one week at a time or longer.  Branches unable to keep nurses.  Therapists stay only because they are contracted employees of another company.  Culture is stressful.  Difficult to maintain census necessary as company will only accept Medicare and limited Medicaid.  Other insurance accepted if paid as Medicare.  In home health this grates on your referral sources as you will only take the highest paying cases.  Branch managers/clinical manager will take any cases no matter the distance driving necessary.  Limited home health experience of management.  Shallow knowledge of wound care techniques so do not expect to enhance your skills.  Limited opportunities for education except canned modules online.  Imagine a working environment where a manager will admit they do not like seeing patients.  Patient's are frequently without visits as they are not followed carefully.  Field staff can only do so much covering four counties.   If your a seasoned home health nurse this is not an environment for you.  If your a newbie and want to try it don't expect a preceptor or adequate training.  You will not get it.

The best part of my job as a certified nurse assistant is caring for the ones in need in order to see them discharged was the most enjoyable part of my job.
A typical work day was terrible, inefficient due to unstructured facility, staff shortage, and favoritism. A typical day at work starts off with the nursing assistant checking the assignment book to see what group of patients he or she is assign to, the cna assignments duties are changed around repeatly throughout the day on a daily basis.
There is no time to take breaks because you working nonstop and there is no T in teamwork their, everyone is for themselves, certain cna's, nurses, and managment do not answer patient call lights. They would rather ask around to find the cna responsible for taking care of him or her than assisting the patient.
The facility is poory ran because of incompetent management that only cares about MONEY... As long as financial reports are okay nothing else matters. Policies in place to define teamwork and responsible were ignored. Nurses, and nursing superviors instead of being helpful, is lazy,unprofessional, disrespectful, and care nothing about the patients or nurse assistants.
The administrator, and director of nursing is not to be trusted they do not care about cna's issues it is all about your job TITLE. Management shows favortism to certain cna's to his or her liking, and assign him or her to made up positions to make up new rules and regulations as they to just boss cna's around. These factors cause a bad quality of care,high patient and staff turnover rate, and stressful environment.
The hardest part of my job was to quit working their instead of fighting mangement. Employees that work their that voice his or her opinion is either bullyed or fired for anything.
CNA's BEWARE!

I read the reviews before I decided to take a chance on the position in Durham. I figured maybe there was a chance it wasn't as bad as people claimed...I was wrong. This is a warning for all of you that are thinking what I thought. They do not focus on changing the nursing culture there that has rooted them in a reputation for giving poor care in the area, instead they focus on pressuring the marketing groups to make admissions happen or expect you to take patients that are not appropriate for the facility. Every single person there is literally doing the workload of 2 to 3 people and you are expected to do it all with perfection. I had no real support from my administrator, as a matter of fact he was demeaning, snide, rude, and condescending. May I clarify that I am not a sensitive person that gets hurt feelings regularly. The stress level here literally drives people to drink. the only comradery that happens here is based on the shared misery of all. The poor residents suffer for it. The fact that the CEO of this company is also on the advisory board for long term care to the President is frightening for the future of long term care to say the least. Elder care does not require heavy investments in structure and decor, it requires a genuine concern for their health and happiness...this concept is lost on UHS Pruitt. I honestly don't think anyone is a "good fit" for this company, I think there are some people that will simply deal with the misery and stress until they have another opportunity, or get fired. So for the love of GOD, I beg you...if you thought like I did that you might be able to handle it, don't..just don't...

worked at the PruittHealth Corporate Office in Norcross as a Maintenance Assistant. Unfortunately, my experience there was very disappointing and stressful due to poor management and lack of proper leadership.

Throughout my time there, management consistently demonstrated a pattern of micromanagement and showed little willingness to listen to employee feedback or new ideas. The work environment often felt controlling rather than collaborative, which made it difficult to contribute positively or feel valued as part of the team.

As a Maintenance Assistant, I frequently found myself performing duties well beyond my job description, including tasks that should have been handled by other departments. While I believe in teamwork and helping where needed, the workload was often unbalanced and unsupported.

Additionally, despite consistently taking on extra responsibilities and maintaining a strong work ethic, my compensation increase was extremely minimal. This made it feel as though hard work and dedication were not properly recognized.

Overall, the workplace culture lacked support, communication, and respect between leadership and staff. I believe the company would benefit greatly from reevaluating its management and supervisory structure. Strong leadership should encourage teamwork, accountability, and respect while also supporting employees rather than micromanaging them.

I hope PruittHealth takes the opportunity to improve its leadership and workplace culture so future employees can have a more positive and supportive experience.

90% should be illegal. Anything above 80 is not safe. I often find myself having to sacrifice my productivity to meet patient needs. I feel like a workhorse as a therapist. Point of service documentation isn't always possible with every patient in a setting like this (oh, there aren't enough desktop computers to go around, and there aren't computers to take into patient rooms either). It's not possible to safely complete pages and pages of documentation, as well as a thorough chart review, new grad training is horrible for new therapists, and it's very clear that communication lacks. There haven't been any interdisciplinary team meetings, and any time spent by therapists discussing patients counts against your productivity. Patients are never out of bed and ready for therapy and in SNFs where you only have 30 minutes and patients are low functioning, you want to be able to focus on meeting patient goals, not spending time changing briefs or getting the person out of bed. Oh, and only 19 days of PTO that don't roll over in a single pot for sick and vacation time is not enough. I could go on even more about my problems with this company, but I'll at least say a few nice things: Flexibility to make your own daily schedule of when you come in and when you leave, and my fellow therapists have been my saving grace in patient care!
